Harley Benton SC-1000 SBK Progressive Line Reviews
Great all round beginner guitar
Only complain i have is that the batteries i received with it were faulty and were leaking fluid in their packaging.
That guitar awesome
Nice sound, and cool mahagony body
Great valuable instrument
Great quality of manufacture.
The sound is clear, dense. Everything is great with it.
Quite good guitar for it`s price! Looks awesome
Good guitar
А good guitar for beginners. In principle, it is not bad, the pickups work fine, nothing particularly hisses and makes no noise. There is a clear sound and it is quite good, even though it is her native element. Her element is metal and rock and roll, when you approach these genres, then the guitar reveals itself from a very good side. Overload sounds quite dense and bright, thanks to the built-in preamp, this guitar will block even a steamship horn. The appearance is quite stylish, as for me, gold does not give off gypsy looks quite harmonious. In general, for your money, the guitar is quite a top.
I really enjoy it! It's easy to play and for me the fact that it's a little heavier than i'm used to, actually helps me with the balance. The down side would be that the strings seem a little bad of quality, and the E string always goes over the finger board, i'm not sure if it's common for electric guitars or has to do with the fret or the string.
In conclusion, I recommend it to everyone, especially to those that want a guitar that is at a good price and a pretty fair quality.
Best Active LP for this price
Very comfortable guitar. Look great. Sounds good.
Minus:
Pickups give a little gain on the clean sound.
A couple of small irregularities on the case
But stil recommend!
Does exactly what you need an affordable LP-style guitar to do
The SC-1000 is an "LP-style" guitar that is the extremely reasonably priced intersection of expectations and qualities you want from a nice and simple but powerful guitar. The construction is solid and weighty, finish is durable, the features are exactly what you need (3-way pickup selector, neck volume, bridge volume, tone pot, and an output jack on the edge), and the active pickups are LOUD. Seriously, they're almost too loud, to the point of clipping my BOSS AC-3!
My only complaint about this guitar (other than a mild ding it received in transit halfway across the world, but that's a "road scar" in a sense so it's fine) is that the active pickups have a high enough power draw that I seem to go through nine volt batteries once a month or so. Perhaps I need to just buy better nine-volts! I may end up upgrading the pickups in the guitar to either more boutique active pickups such as Fishman Fluences or to a set of passive DiMarzios like my Music Man. But for now, for what I use the guitar for -- metal in D standard or drop C -- the actives are more than good enough.
This is a wonderful guitar that does everything you need it to and at a price point that will surprise you, and it can also serve as a perfectly good platform for modding electronics on in the future, thanks to its quality in construction.
Worth the price, needs some tweaking.
Brought the guitar as ive heard a lot of good things,
Got the guitar in a decent amount of time, no complaints there.
Packaging was great and there were no dents or marks to the guitar.
The only problem i have is:
The neck has not been glued in place well, the angle is really noticeable, i have this un-fixable fret buzz between 1st and 5th on all strings, ive been trying to fix this issue for a couple of weeks, i'm at a loss.
Other than that its an absolute beauty and for the prices its would be perfect for beginners/intermediates.
Underrated instrument
Once it arrived I was amazed.
I didn't expect much for the price point, and I got an instrument of great quality that is a replica of a great looking guitar (ESP Progressive line).
The finish was flawless, and it looks like a 1000$ guitar to me.
The pickups sound great with my audio interface, and the setup was great out of the box.
I was curious about what kind of a guitar I would get for this price, and was left thoroughly amazed. I have 4 other electric guitars that were all more expensive, and this one matches them in most areas.
Good guitar for the money.
Overall I'm happy but it has a few flaws.
Nothing that would push me to send it back.
A few minor finish flaws on the BACK of the body. No big deal.
After a quick set up...not bad. Lowered the bridge and cranked the neck back 1/8 of a turn and had perfect action. Intonation was spot on.
After checking all the positions I found one dead fret at #20 on the GDA & low E strings.
I plan on fixing that myself. Again, no big deal.
Again, I'm totally happy with my purchase. It's a good value for the money. I didn't expect great at this price point. I got something good. A bargain guitar that is playable and sounds fine. Don't expect great, you'll be disappointed. Expect a quality, playable, good looking, well thought out instrument at a very fair price.
Will I purchase another HB? Definitely!
HB SC-1000 SBK Review
Very happy with this guitar. It was my first electric guitar after playing acoustic for years. In the price range this guitar is truly great. Especially the looks! Sound is fine. Looks are great.
too much gain on clean tone. but perfect distortion tone and quality of the wood and other
This is a great guitar for its price, I have it in Drop A# and the active pickups sound good for the price. Having a volume knob for each pickup is also nice so you can get a cleaner (or muddier) tone. When it came there was what I assume is glue on the 23rd fret mostly on the B and e string. There wasn't really any bad things to say about it, it came with a 9V battery too.
Amazing value guitar
Hesitated between this model and the slightly cheaper version without active pickups. Can't compare, but love the sound/weight/feel of this. Lovely finish.
Best choice for this price to start learning to play guitar!
I'll start with the main advantages:
Pickups: 2 Active HBZ Hi-Gain humbuckers - what this means for a beginner guitarist, which means that you can connect this guitar to a computer without using additional devices, all you need is a 6.3 mm mono jack cable and adapter 6.3/3.5 mm or adapter Cable 6.3 / 3.5 mm (Just seach this if u wanna know more about it - "
What's the Difference Between Passive and Active Pickups")
You plug this into the line-in on the motherboard of your computer, the line-in is blue
Then download ASIO, any DAW and VST plugins you like.
Use youtube to learn more about guitar with active pickups / pc connection
Neck attachment: Set-in
this means - more sustain.
Neck profile: C
This option is will much more convenient for people who have not yet gone through the way of Left Hand Positioning, as well as for those who like to play power chords.
This is my first guitar, but I know a lot about it. I have been making music for a long time.
And I wanted to learn how to play on the guitar for a long time, but I didn't want to buy myself an expensive instrument for practice.
Therefore, I chose this particular guitar, for its quality and price.
So... if you want to easy start - this is the best choice.
A guitar with 2 active Hi-Gain humbuckers is a cool and useful option to save money at the beginning.
*2 Active HBZ Hi-Gain humbuckers
*Neck attachment: Set-in
*Neck profile: C
*Double action truss rod
*Cool Matte Black colour
WOW!! Very impressed
Bought this guitar for my son, he already has a few others including PRS SE and this competes with this on nearly all levels. This has the active pickups and they are very good, he loves it and will be gigging with it when the venues eventually reopen ????
The Pro’s are pretty much everything.
The only Cons we can find is that the fret ends are a little rough, only slightly though and easily rectified.
Also with this Matt black it is difficult to keep clean as finger marks show up a lot, however, we did expect this with a Matt black paint.
It competes easily with his LTD EC-256 and his Ibanez, which are significantly more expensive instruments.
This guitar is highly Recommended and I have now ordered a Harley Benton guitar for myself now.
You will not be disappointed ????????
Guitar without sound
The paintwork and build quality are good. Lightweight and good center of gravity balance. Good guitar for a buck.
Beauty and Disappointment
I bought a guitar on 02/24/2020. Unpacked in the summer - 06/01/2021. Filmed a video review of the unboxing and test of this guitar and the Harley Benton SC-550 Faded Tobacco Flame Deluxe series
The boxes came without marks that the boxes were opened and a specialist worked with them. (Previously, the store's branded tape was glued)
Right out of the box, the guitar was in trouble. There were traces of dirty fingers on the headstock, under the strings. Under the strings, Karl! The case itself was damaged and scratched. This guitar is second-hand. But we paid like a new one!
We have a video of how we open All the boxes and take out these guitars. All photos and receipts.
Strings 5 and 6 rang from frets 1 to 6. After 2 days, the cable at the three-position switch fell off. And the soldering did not give anything. The three-position switch itself had to be replaced.
For a long time I hesitated to write a review. But now I can't even sell this guitar now, because it has a lot of flaws.
The sound itself is Gorgeous. Clearly different from passive sensors. Any touch on the strings is perceived by the guitar. Not suitable for beginners. All the dirt of the game is immediately audible. And the battery must be pulled out, otherwise it will sit down during storage.
Absolutely Legendary Guitar
Okay, I had guitars before. Like ESP, LTD, Epiphone and so on. Not expensive ones but around 400-700 USD ones without any Active Pick up. Their tone was okay but I always thought it sounded bit cheap from them. You see I had my suspicions about this guitar when I ordered it and the mixed reviews was not helping. After months I thought I'd give a shot. Boy was I late for the party. Amazingly packaged, not a scratch on it. Guitar is ready, you just tune it and plug. They even sent the 9V battery with it along with a basic jack. I'm in awe, it is not just money worth, you get more than you paid for. Tones are amazing and absolute legend. I'm superbly happy with this product. I purchased the Harley Benton 20 amp with it. it's decent but Guitar is the highlight of my times now!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
