Harley Benton SC-1000 SBK Progressive Line 5-stars Reviews
Honestly Great
Needed a total set up but was amazing after.
Top Qualität!
Beautifully and well-constructed guitar. For the money, it has terrific sound and is an excellent value. My brother, a retired, 71-year-old rock musician, enjoyed playing the guitar so much, he stated he would have loved to have received this guitar as a gift when he graduated high school in 1970. My son absolutely loves the guitar!
Esta guitarra ROCKS!!!!!
La guitarra luce increible, las pastillas tienen muy buen sonido, comprenla! no se van a arrepentir, muy satisfecho con la compra!
One of the best deals in the guitar world!
Truly cannot say enough about this guitar. The field, the finished, the playability, the sound, the resonance, and just everything about it is truly amazing.
The fact Harley Benton was able to create and sell such a fantastic product for such an affordable price is astounding and anyone that is into guitar should absolutely give one of these a shot. I have it both in the matte black finish as well as the white finish, and I love them both so much!
This is now my go to AX
so i had a Gibson Goth SG and a LTD ec-256. well i had a Gibson Gothic sg until the head stock snapped off. Thanks Gibson! Anyway i wanted to try a guitar with active pickups. everything i read said that the Harley Benton HBZ's can hold their own against active EMG's . so i decided to go with the HB SC-1000. for the price i figured i would have to do a bit of tweaking when it came in. again i was wrong everything was set up perfectly! low action, no dead frets, and the look &d feel is amazing. The active HBZ's sound incredible. I love this guitar. its my go to. the LTD is collecting dust. i will be doing a review on my channel. and my next purchase will be the HB EX-84 Modern!
Great Price Point
item sounds great even after a year of owning it. All around great product
Holy Hell......
Looks amazing, plays amazing and sounds amazing whilst being under 200 pounds? What more could you want?
If you want a les paul that stays in tune, this is a great option. It can absolutely crush it for heavy metal rhythm and lead playing, but it might need a bit of setup based on personal preference.
My first guitar, and I love it so far!
Pretty much spot on
I ordered this guitar as I had not gotten a new guitar in quite a few years and just wanted a change of pace. I saw a review by a Pete Cottrell and I wanted to try for myself and try out a guitar with active pickups as I have never owned one with active pickups. I've always wanted to get an ESP EC-1000 and this is close enough, without getting the real thing.
Sounds pretty good for it's price, and I quite enjoy it. Neck's good (just needs a bit of polish) and plays nice. Only thing is, one of the tone knobs was pretty loose when I got it, and I messed up the electronics when I tried to fix it, so I have to take it to my local guitar store.
Love it
This guitar is great only but I would have are the pick ups a bit muddy but that's a quick fix by replacing them
Very nice for the price
You simply can’t beat this guitar for it’s features, playability, look, and price. I simply don’t know how they do it. The pickups are pretty decent and even when I swapped in EMG pickups there wasn’t much of a difference. The finish is smooth and very nice. The satin black color leaves a very smooth finish albeit finger marks tend to show after time but you get that with any satin finish. The action and tuning will need to be adjusted on arrival but you would expect that especially traveling over long distances in a very short time frame.
It is a clear winner so if you are looking for a close clone of the LTD ec-1000, this one comes quite close at a fraction of the price.
WOW, JUST WOW.
What a guitar. I only returned to guitar playing 9 months ago after not playing since I was around 20 (mid 90s). I started off with just a cheap thing from an online auction site to see if I could get back into it. Last month, I decided I was enjoying it so thought it was time to upgrade to a half decent guitar. A mate told me about Harley Benton guitars so I checked out your site. I thought at these prices it must be too good to be true. Then she arrived, my new guitar. Within 10 minutes, I realised it wasn’t too good to be true. The feel, playability and the build quality were all amazing. My guitar playing has stepped up quite a notch thanks to my new baby.
The action was nice and low with not even the slightest hint of fret buzz, there was even room to further lower the action.
I had a budget of around double the price of what I paid, which means I’ve got cash for a decent amp as well.
From now on, if anyone ever asks where is the best place to buy any instrument, you know my answer, it is this site I will direct them to.
That guitar awesome
Nice sound, and cool mahagony body
Great valuable instrument
Great quality of manufacture.
The sound is clear, dense. Everything is great with it.
Quite good guitar for it`s price! Looks awesome
Good guitar
А good guitar for beginners. In principle, it is not bad, the pickups work fine, nothing particularly hisses and makes no noise. There is a clear sound and it is quite good, even though it is her native element. Her element is metal and rock and roll, when you approach these genres, then the guitar reveals itself from a very good side. Overload sounds quite dense and bright, thanks to the built-in preamp, this guitar will block even a steamship horn. The appearance is quite stylish, as for me, gold does not give off gypsy looks quite harmonious. In general, for your money, the guitar is quite a top.
I really enjoy it! It's easy to play and for me the fact that it's a little heavier than i'm used to, actually helps me with the balance. The down side would be that the strings seem a little bad of quality, and the E string always goes over the finger board, i'm not sure if it's common for electric guitars or has to do with the fret or the string.
In conclusion, I recommend it to everyone, especially to those that want a guitar that is at a good price and a pretty fair quality.
Best Active LP for this price
Very comfortable guitar. Look great. Sounds good.
Minus:
Pickups give a little gain on the clean sound.
A couple of small irregularities on the case
But stil recommend!
Does exactly what you need an affordable LP-style guitar to do
The SC-1000 is an "LP-style" guitar that is the extremely reasonably priced intersection of expectations and qualities you want from a nice and simple but powerful guitar. The construction is solid and weighty, finish is durable, the features are exactly what you need (3-way pickup selector, neck volume, bridge volume, tone pot, and an output jack on the edge), and the active pickups are LOUD. Seriously, they're almost too loud, to the point of clipping my BOSS AC-3!
My only complaint about this guitar (other than a mild ding it received in transit halfway across the world, but that's a "road scar" in a sense so it's fine) is that the active pickups have a high enough power draw that I seem to go through nine volt batteries once a month or so. Perhaps I need to just buy better nine-volts! I may end up upgrading the pickups in the guitar to either more boutique active pickups such as Fishman Fluences or to a set of passive DiMarzios like my Music Man. But for now, for what I use the guitar for -- metal in D standard or drop C -- the actives are more than good enough.
This is a wonderful guitar that does everything you need it to and at a price point that will surprise you, and it can also serve as a perfectly good platform for modding electronics on in the future, thanks to its quality in construction.
Underrated instrument
Once it arrived I was amazed.
I didn't expect much for the price point, and I got an instrument of great quality that is a replica of a great looking guitar (ESP Progressive line).
The finish was flawless, and it looks like a 1000$ guitar to me.
The pickups sound great with my audio interface, and the setup was great out of the box.
I was curious about what kind of a guitar I would get for this price, and was left thoroughly amazed. I have 4 other electric guitars that were all more expensive, and this one matches them in most areas.
