Harley Benton SC-1000 SBK Progressive Line 4-stars Reviews
Metalhead
Bonne guitare pour commencer à jouer du métal.
Bonsoir matériaux et bons micros
One of my best purchases
I bought this guitar because it looked „cool“ and I‘m more than surprised. The tone is great/awesome, good for Metal and rock. The black coloring looks brutal and the neck is really smooth (wich is perfect for me) To be honest, one of the best guitars for that price!
Harley Benton SC-1000 SBK
Ordered a guitar, delivery was about a month. I expected a little more from it, but in general - an excellent instrument for metal, an analogue of the ESP LTD-256.
Pros:
- Matte nice finish
- Edging in several layers
-Good wood used in making
- Active sensors have a strong signal
Minuses:
-There are factory flaws on the edging - black blotches of paint
- On the fretboard near the nut, the varnish was slightly chipped off, but this is not critical
-The frets were not properly calibrated, had to be sanded and polished so that the 6th string would not ring after the 12th fret
A good tool, considering its price, even with all the shortcomings.
Pretty good
The guitar arrived on time and was playable out of the box needing only tuning. It's a bit on the heavy side and could do with better tuning machines but it's more than worth what you pay for it . It was my first harley benton guitar and I was amazed by the overall quality !
Not disappointed!
When opening the box (the packaged product was excellent) the guitar impresses with its elegance.
A closer look reveals the flaws in painting the guitar, but when you start playing, all the external flaws are forgotten. The sound is slightly blurred at the lower frequencies but sooo nice.
The height of the strings could be lower, but still good.
I recommend this!
Killer looks at a killer price
Needed a little setup out of the box but absolutely gorgeous looking guitar for the price
Great for the price
Bought it at 198€. Arrived fast. Perfectly set up low, intonation is good. Pickups are hot. Playability and sound punch a higher price tag. Quality on the other hand...
...is fitting for the price.
Cavity shielding is nonexistent, potentiometers aren't fitting the hardware, signal is noisy (but not the sound!!! The instrument itself is quiet when played except or the post nut headstock string ring - throw some vibration dampeners on and you're golden), the insides smell of aerosol paint, woodwork inside is poor, needs sanding (and then shielding). The electronics are grounded well. Side dots on the neck are misaligned and the cream rim paint is "out of the lines".
Main issue for me is the cavity shielding - when playing wireless the transmitter's signal bleeds into the electronics and the instrument becomes unplayable. Wired is silent.
I will switch out all the hardware.
All in all it's its money's worth.
Great all round beginner guitar
Only complain i have is that the batteries i received with it were faulty and were leaking fluid in their packaging.
Worth the price, needs some tweaking.
Brought the guitar as ive heard a lot of good things,
Got the guitar in a decent amount of time, no complaints there.
Packaging was great and there were no dents or marks to the guitar.
The only problem i have is:
The neck has not been glued in place well, the angle is really noticeable, i have this un-fixable fret buzz between 1st and 5th on all strings, ive been trying to fix this issue for a couple of weeks, i'm at a loss.
Other than that its an absolute beauty and for the prices its would be perfect for beginners/intermediates.
Good guitar for the money.
Overall I'm happy but it has a few flaws.
Nothing that would push me to send it back.
A few minor finish flaws on the BACK of the body. No big deal.
After a quick set up...not bad. Lowered the bridge and cranked the neck back 1/8 of a turn and had perfect action. Intonation was spot on.
After checking all the positions I found one dead fret at #20 on the GDA & low E strings.
I plan on fixing that myself. Again, no big deal.
Again, I'm totally happy with my purchase. It's a good value for the money. I didn't expect great at this price point. I got something good. A bargain guitar that is playable and sounds fine. Don't expect great, you'll be disappointed. Expect a quality, playable, good looking, well thought out instrument at a very fair price.
Will I purchase another HB? Definitely!
HB SC-1000 SBK Review
Very happy with this guitar. It was my first electric guitar after playing acoustic for years. In the price range this guitar is truly great. Especially the looks! Sound is fine. Looks are great.
This is a great guitar for its price, I have it in Drop A# and the active pickups sound good for the price. Having a volume knob for each pickup is also nice so you can get a cleaner (or muddier) tone. When it came there was what I assume is glue on the 23rd fret mostly on the B and e string. There wasn't really any bad things to say about it, it came with a 9V battery too.
Guitar without sound
The paintwork and build quality are good. Lightweight and good center of gravity balance. Good guitar for a buck.
Awesome guitar!
I am so very impressed with this guitar. Generally, I am not a fan of gold hardware on a guitar, but when I unboxed it and took a good look in person, the hardware almost instantly grew on me. I am in absolute LOVE with the matte finish. There is a tactile sensation to it that I am in love with. Some customers may call it "B stock worthy", but in my opinion it is most definitely a plus, and NOT a minus. A good friend of mine is already trying to purchase it off of me. I won't say no, but he'll have to come up with a good amount of money to do so. If you're on the fence about guitars from HB, don't delay - get one now. The quality is very professional.
Harley Benton SC-1000
I have recently decided to purchase this guitar since it looked amazing.
Pros: Amazing looking, very well build and feels great to hold and play with.
Cons: Guitar was received with a small piece of wood broken from the head stock. Very small and can barely been seen.
The guitar arrived and needs a lot of set up. The neck pickup was so low that i could see inside the guitar, there is fret buzz and many other small adjustments that need to be done before being able to play with it. It is a wonder how this passed from quality control.
Active pickups are too hot and noisy and i will be replacing them with another brand soon.
But taking into consideration the money you spend for this beauty it is a steal.
Would recommend this to anyone who does not want to spend too much money and still receive a quality product.
absolutly go for it
just " value for money",
best way i can describe it
one thing i would change are the tuners, other than that this guitar is very nicely made and i have no complaints
A beast of a guitar!
Well, this thing growls. It's a beautiful guitar with a nasty bite. I had a roommate with a 90's Gibson Les Paul that costed her almost ten times as much as this HB guitar, and she preferred to play this one.
But it needed a bit of a set-up and it had some wiring issues.
Great guitar with active pickups for the money
Been using this guitar for 6 months. It looks great, plays well. But on highgain it produces static noise which can be fixed by noise gate. Tuners are okay but could be better something like grovers on sc custom
good for the price and an amazing modding platform
so for this price your getting a satin black single cut style guitar with gold hardware, the tuners hold tuning very well, the neck is really comfortable to play and its not very thick, the freats are good i just needed to polish them a bit and now its almost perfect, the pickups are fine maybe a bit too noisy but if you play rock/metal they are fine
Excellent for first guitar with active pickups
I've been trying to get into guitars with active pickups, and recently I've decided to order this one. The guitar came shortly after neatly packed and there were no noticeable damages on the guitar.
After playing the guitar for a while I'm overall impressed by the sound this guitar have. It's my first guitar with active pickups, but the sound is really hot and heavy, exactly what I hoped for. So far, I haven't yet seen any damages on the frets and there were no dead tones anywhere on the guitar.
Only problem that I have noticed is that when I turn my tone knob all the way, there is some noise coming out when I play. Not sure why is that though.
Pros:
- Hot and heavy sound
- Nice wielding, easy to bend and hammer on
- Very nice looking
Cons:
- Overall it's very nice looking, but the knobs don't match the overall style of the guitar
- Noisy when the tune knob is turned to the max
Overall, for the first active pickup guitar, I'm really glad I ordered it.
