Harley Benton JB-20 SB Standard Series 5-stars Reviews
Great guitar for a beginner player!
it is a good bass,i bought this bass becaouse i wanted a bass to learn something and for playing with my friends i like it a loot and the sustain of this bass is awsome also it is heavy
ONE OF THE BEST!!!
For the price that this Bass has, its really really good. It sounds amazing. To be honest, I'm in love with this bass.
Perfect thing to start with
This is my first bass that I really play on. I bough it just to support my home recordings. I play guitar. Own various budget but good guitars, like semi-acounstic Yamaha APX700II-12 NT, Yamaha APX500II, Epiphone Les Paul Pro Plus Top, Ibanez RG2570 Prestige. Eventually, I wanted to get myself a Epiphone Les Paul bas, but decided to give this one a try. I can't really compare it to anything, because obviously, I have not much experience with basses, but it looks good, plays good, sound comes out clear, fair in terms of looks. The strings are fine, but I remember playing other sort of strings about 15 years ago (flat strings they were) and they felt better, so I think I finally am going to get myself a pack of those, but apart from that, for the price I paid, this is more than sufficient. Again, I don't have much experience with basses, but for my eyes and ears, this is certainly not bad.
EXCELLENT BUDGET GUITAR
There are small flaws on the thresholds, but everything is fixable. The guitar itself is the best for the money
JB-20
Few bits of excess plastic on the pickguard, action is a bit high out of the box but plays in tune even after 12th fret, comes with set of hex wrenches and a short cable, sound is beyond expectations, best bass for the price
Very nice quality for the price.
Less than 100 Euro? No way...
Listen,... I got the bass for playing around at home, have an extra instrument and record some basslines because I was tired of using bass plugins for more rock style songs.
I was expecting a meh bass and I was fine with that,
Well NO! It's SOOO good for the price. The tone nob does actually change the tone a lot, it can have some noise when using high gain but nothing too bad. It is in fact a bass for beginners, but way above many basses I've tried, even over 250 Euro. So that says a lot.
A few cons: it is quite heavy and it neck dives.
Harley Benton JB-20 SB Standard Series
I really love this bass. More than good construction and finish for an electric bass at this price. The instrument arrived practically already setup and ready to play. It's my combat bass and I won't leave it anymore.
amazing value
for just 99 euros you get a great bass, it looks amazing, the grain of the wood is awsome, sounds great, it just needed a bit of intonation and that is it.
Probably the best budget bass you can get for that kind of money.
Outstanding value for money!
If you are a rookie on bass guitar this one is the best choice for you!!
THE starter bass
First, I got this bass for my wife. Really. After the ukulele I thought it would be fun to play together (I play guitar). Second, would be great having a bass around for adding bass tracks on my blues. So the question is, does JB-20B does its job?
Pros
I recall low price basses in the 90's and 2000's feeling really cheap but this is is not what you get. Smooth, accurate, frets feel good, great for practicing and having it in the studio. Impressive quality for such a price tag.
Cons, none. You can compare the brand to other entering level brands though as happy owner of an HB Extreme-76 and Custom Line Manhattan, it's always an impressive quality for the price.
To conclude, yes it does its job so let's name this bass THE starter bass. Anyone starting playing bass or needing one for a home studio, this is the one. Congrats to Harley Benton, having such a quality for this price means more players for sure. And that is impressive.
Amazing!
Just perfect for this price!
Great sound
Great bass for entry level students. The instrument feels pretty good and comfortable and can stay tuned which is very veeeery important.
Holy Benton Bassman!
Pros:
Absolutely brilliant for the price, checked intonation etc. and it was near perfect, looks great and the neck feels good too
Con:
Frets had some sharp edges that needed attention
The Volumes and tone controls feel flimsy but after tightening them there fine.
Pick ups are ok but once you put a clean boost in the mix (I use the TC Electronic Spark Boost) it works a treat.
Honestly for the money Im very impressed and not disappointed at all just giving an honest review
Good value for the money
I am a bass player for many years and I was curious how are the things going lately with the cheap instruments. I ordered this one and I very satisfied for the money. I sent it for a set up as the frets were sticking a bit and there was a fret buzz but it is now ok and I am playing it almost every day. I has decent tone and good feel. I love the satin finish of the neck! Recommend it for anyone that is starting to play now and even for experienced players as a good bass to carry around.
Wow!
Bought this as a base to try some modifications (pickups, electronics, etc.) but for the money this is a seriously fun bass!
Sure, there are some issues, but they're minor. In my case some of the fret-ends are a little sharp and the nut isn't cut deep enough. Easy enough to fix. The pots aren't the best quality (they're more like on/off switches) but again, not a big deal.
The pickups sound really nice and deliver a good passive "growl".
Fit and finish is really nice. And the neck has a great feel.
Was pleasantly surprised to see all the cavities are shielded (paint) and even grounded. Someone was paying attention when setting up production on these basses.
So, overall I'm really pleased with this one. Specially at this price.
You get a lot more than you pay for!
Impressed
Has been long time since I had a bass, so I bought this Harley Benton JB-20 SB Standard Series after watching this review on youtube is heavy, and not perfect. Maybe I should have had bought an active bass since I am using it with VOX AP2BS amPlug 2 Bass Headphone Amplifier and with headsets lack of power, but quality good enough.
I am using Skullcandy Hesh 3 Bluetooth Wireless Over-Ear Headphones with Microphone - And sounds very weel, I tried with my Bose, but better with skullcandy
Amazing for such a small price!!
It's a perfect bass for both beginners and professionals alike!!!
