A great first bass

As I wanted to start learning and don't have a big budget, I opted for this. Setting up was a breeze: only the intonation needed tinkering. However on my unit the tone knob has a large dead zone, only a small part of the turn affects tone. And also the frets are a bit sharp on the ends. But I guess it is to be expected at this price point and other than that, it has served me well this past few months. Recommended for beginners.

Real good jazz bass sound like Flee from RHCP. I really wanted bass from my childhood

Decent quality for the price

Bought this bass as a cheap entry level one and it shipped fast and sounded great, however, the fret edges were quite sharp - much sharper than the ones on other Harley Bentons I'd bought before. Luckily, it was a 10 minute fix with some cheap 400 grit sandpaper and it plays and sounds amazing. Would recommend, but expect some minor setup requirements

Good bass guitar

For price it is better than good.

I bought this bass in march of this year and i have it since. The pickups are not the best but you can always upgrade that. But the build quality is really amazing.

Begin, enjoy and customize

This is bass guitar and the 100€ price range; this must be kept in mind before making any consideration.

Despite its low price, the bass is incredibly well built, well balanced and has a very, very good neck. Right out of the box it also offers a quite good setup. Tuning pegs are ok - they are not perfect but keep tuning wery well - and the bridge does it job. The electronic is very cheap (pots in particular).

Nonetheless, I consider this instrument perfect for both beginners and seasoned players.

For beginners, it offers all you need to start learning playing bass guitar: when you start you don't even know what does instrument setup mean, so a good average setup is, in my opinion, the best option available. Sound wise, you'll develop your tastes later in your journey, and you would probably change the pickups anyway.

For seasoned players, it offers a good starting point to begin you own personal instrument customization.

Great bass

For a cheap bass it's very impressive, great sound, solid body, good tone controls, fret board is perfect. Would highly reccomend it ahead of many more expensive models. Was not expecting the standard to be so high and would make me look closer at other Harley Benton products if this is the standard they are manufactured to

best choice for the price

JB-20 was my first Harley Benton instrument... i needed a jazz bass type of instrument and JB-20 looked like a good choice to order... and i was not dissapointed... the instrument is nicely crafted, good balanced and has a nice sustain... simple but effective mechanics keep the instrument nicely in tune... in general... the it sounds how it looks like... i don't think you can get a better bass guitar for the same price

through the good experience with this instrument i was encouraged to get more of Harley Benton instruments.

Very comfortable for playing. Nice glossy finish. Good frets. Good hardware. Nice jazz bass feeling.

Great Bass Guitar All the Way Around couldn't be move pleased

Good for this price, but....

Overall, good bass for the money. But there are some minor flaws in build quality. Frets cut hands, but can be easily corrected on their own, requires a little refinement. I also didn't like the fingerboard material, it looked very cheap. In general, the sound is not bad for the money, the sound is good, well suited for those who are just starting to play the bass guitar and do not know if they will play in the future. Also suitable for a small school group. But if you want to play like a pro, this bass is not for you.

Great bass for beginners

I boutht this as my first bass, I really like it, sound is good and frets feel good.

A small issue with plug in port, it screws out everytime i plug out the cord.

All in all, great bass for beginners and very nice design.

Bought this an entry level bass for recording

Was sick of programming bass lines into cubase which took hours when I thought "I could play that much quicker" - so I bought this guitar as my first ever bass (I play 6 string) just to see how it was. Sent it around to a couple of bass player friends who generally play recognised 'name' brands and they were amazed at the the sound, the build quality and the playability. Only thing I did was to lower the action slightly but that was it. Played great straight out of the box. Great range of tones by combining and mixing the levels of the pickups. Does every thing I want (and probably more :-) ) great bass guitar - recommend it.

Best bass for this price

I mean, the sound is great for this price. Assembly is fine, no questions. Define rely satisfied

I like the sound and its fun to play on it.

One big negative are the frets. You will scratch your hands with not so polished "frets ends". What I did is put small pieces of tape so it feels smoother.

Good for the price, a lot of noise

Obviously for such a low price point there are some draw backs expected. For me it was the noise. Luckily I am handy and have ordered some shielding tape to try and fix the issue. Otherwise everything else is good.

Solid

Good weight to the instrument. Neck straight and intonation good. Tone on both pickups good especially at this price point. No problems with electronics.

Quality/Price

Can't find better at this price, best quality ever for this range of price, I'm really amazed how is this possible...
