Great value

Great bass, but 1 tuner head was a bit loose, making a very annoying rattling sound, but an easy fix with a good hammer :)

Absolutely Stunning!

I had a pretty good feeling after reading the description and the reviews. Matching finished Headstock, Roswell Alnico Pickups, Brass Bridge Rolls, aged dark Canadian Maple neck with the truss skunk stripe, Antique White with a beautiful Tortoise Pick Guard,... 5 STRING at this price, is unheard off. Well,.. the bass that came is even better than I had hoped for. GORGEOUS! And after a set-up for Ultra DRY SoCal(true the neck, set string height .065-.080, then intonation(it came set very close) and double check everything again) it is simply amazing. I have 11 basses and this is my new favorite. It's the schiz!! P volume at 3/4, J volume at 1/4, and tone at 1/4 , the sound is PHAT and tight. There is NOTHING else out there even close. Just do it.

Beautiful Big Bold Badass Benton Bass

Let me be Brief about this Brilliant Bass. All has been said about it in the reviews: the feel, the tone etc. it's just Bang-on. Besides I love the clear harmonics it produces very much. One minor point: the J pickup is a bit noisy. But with the P pckup at 100% and the J pickup at around 80% you have the Best sound. Conclusion: your Best Buy Bass!

Not great out of the box, but a fantastic platform for modding.

5 String PJ basses are hard to come by, as such I was drawn to this instrument.

Out of the box, the fit and finish I couldn't fault. However, there was some serious fret buzz on a fair few frets from 10 and above. This was down to uneven frets and I needed to seriously level the frets. Having done this, it now plays with a very low action and feels lovely.

The pickups are mixed. The P pickup is pretty decent. The J pickup to me sounds horrible, and mixing it into the P just didn't work. That may be personal taste.

I've since replaced the pickups, bridge and machine heads and this is now one of my favourite basses.

If it had arrived not needing a fret dress, I'd say it's entirely worth the money. Perhaps I got a bad one.

Almost a home run,

It is 18mm spacing at the bridge, I would like 17mm..The big miss on this bass is that the bridge pick up is 1/2 inch too close to the bridge. Making back pickup hollow.. if you would move back pickup up 1/2 inch it would be a home run! However it has a great P bass sound.

Very satisfied

I've had the bass for slightly over a year now and I can say that I'm very satisfied with it. Even ignoring the price, it is a very good quality instrument that is quite good for recordings. It came perfectly intonated and set up in general and although I don't usually hammer away too hard on it, I can still safely say that this will stay in tune very well.

The P pickup has a lovely sound to it that I have no reservations recording with, however the J pickup doesn't quite stand up as well, however I usually record with the P on full with the J at only a small volume, which in my opinion is quite pleasant sounding. I've noticed that the lower strings are quite noticeably louder than the higher ones, but adjusting the pickup height mostly fixes this, albeit with some mild tonal sacrifice.

The build quality is very satisfying overall but the control cavity's routing comes out slightly from beneath the pickguard, which is a barely noticeable cosmetic effect. One of the dot inlays in the twelfth fret popped out at one point as well, but I was luckily able to find it and after pushing it back in by hand, it's stayed put since.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and have confidence that it will serve me for many years to come.

A fine bass

I am not a bass player, but always wanted a five string bass.

The PJ-75 VW looks cool, sound good, and are comfortable to play straight out of the box.

With the PJ-75 you get a very good bass at a quality level which more prominent brands would charge you a lot more to match.

Take this in consideration

The overall quality of this bass is surprisingly good, especially in the light of its price. I found it very responsive and playable. It' s not too far from my american 5 str Precision that cost me almost ten times as much. Recommended

Zeer blij met deze pj bass.

Goede sound,goed gewicht,goede pickups.

Alleen wat werk aan wat scherpe frets.

Half uurtje werk en alles goed.

Goede prijs en mooie bass.

It's a good product.

1. I received the goods in good packaging (I live in South Korea)

2. The quality of the product was fine and the pick-ups worked well.

3. The pick-up knobs also worked well.

4. It is stable because there is no noise even if I don't touch the bass guitar strings.

5. The weight is light.

6. I like the sound of the product, too.

7. It's easy to play.

8. It took two weeks to deliver such a good product.

9. Overall, it's a very good product.

10. I'm willing to buy it again.

※My next target on the premises is to purchase an electric guitar.

I'm looking forward to it.

Thank you.

my main bass!

I've had this bass for the better part of a year, and gosh it seriously delivers. there's no other brand that does PJ-configured 5 string basses that i could find! it seriously does that classic p-bass sound great, and that J pickup is nice and pangy. sometimes you need to turn down the j pickup a bit to get that fuller rounder sound, but i don't mind that at all. matching headstock is a big plus too.

It works, it sounds like a bass. Fretjob is very nice.

Incredible HB PJ-75 VW

It has unbeatable tone thanks to Roswell pickups. The woodwork is brilliant. It sits right in my hand. Love this guitar. Nothing else to say.

Can't believe something so cheap would sound so good

I love this bass! I've heard lots of stories about how great these basses are so I decided to try one out myself. I got it for noodling at home and occasional recording.

I plugged it in an played it along with two songs...one with just the neck pickup and one with the neck pickup at full and bridge pickup at about 40%...and I was floored in both cases. It has a very meaty, full mid tone that both sits very well in a mix but also stands out. Mixed tones are also fantastic, and the low B string absolutely sings. This bass is very hot, and I'm still kind of surprised it's not active. It just sounds lovely.

It's very playable, and the fit and finish are well above what you'd expect for a bass in this price range. The neck is a thick baseball bat of a neck but it's also very stable. Once the bass was acclimated to the temp in my house, all I had to do to finish setup was to tune it and set the action. Neck relief was spot on.

The only con I'd have so far is that it has a fair bit of neck dive, but that can always be offset by a thicker strap. I absolutely recommend this bass to anyone.

Gigworthy!

Astounding Build quality! Near perfect setup! And It's pretty! Been playing bass for half a century.I was a full time pro but now I am a weekend warrior type. Gobsmacked 4 different ways. Took delivery Saturday. The outer box was destroyed. Ripped torn and bent like a strung longbow. Inner box was bent as well . Amazed when I took the bass out it was in near perfect condition. It did take a really hard lick on the lower strap button. bent the button and the screw and cracked the finish around it. Cosmetic damage no one will ever see. Build quality is astounding at this price point. Blackwood fingerboard is sweet. Looks like ebony with a more open grain. The skunkstripe looks like blackwood instead of the specced roseacer. Looks very nice. Fit and finish is excellent. I give the setup an A-. Neck relief and intonation are spot on. Had to raise string height on the A string just a little. Then there is the sound. Think lower register of a Steinway concert grand piano. That's what I like!!!!! Only con is poor quality volume pots, Since I play with everything wide open on the bass this really isn't an issue for Me. Can't wait to take it to rehearsal and try it through My gig Rig. Cheers! ( Okay did that, Bass has ballz. Good clarity from low B to high E. This is a very gigworthy instrument.)

Wow!

I did have high expectations when I ordered this bass. It is even better than I expected. The best thing on this bass is the neck. Big, wide, thick and I love it. The fretwork is really decent and level. Tuners work well. The P-pickup sounds very good, warm and P-like, The J-pickup is a bit weak. I don't really like this pickup. My best sound is P-pickup only. The pots work but feel very cheap and flimsy. Finish is good, the back of the neck is a little rough. It has some neckdive, ofcourse, it's a 5 string with big headstock. No problems with a good strap. 'd Addario strings!!! No need to put new strings on and save €25,=. The bass was setup well. I check everything and set up guitars and basses when I get them. This one was very playable out of the box.

Overall a good bass for very little money. Don't expect a 1000E bass, it isn't, but it is very good for the money.

I will buy this again if broken/stolen.

I bought this bass for recording purposes. I am a guitarist, but nowadays I need to lay down the bass lines by myself. Furthermore, playing on the base is fun. I chose this model after checking hell a lot of reviews on the web.

The built quality was a surprise in this price range. I have a minor lacquer flaw on the side of the guitar, It seems the there were too much poly therefore the surface is uneven.

Fret job is very good, no sharp edges and also the blackwood fingerboard looks stunning. Machine heads are working perfectly and also the bridge does its job.

Setup was almost correct. I had to do a minor truss rod adjustment with intonation plus string height.

However I like the sound of the PUs, my first improvement is going to be change them. I have a feeling that this guitar can sound much better with a bit hotter pickups.

Sustain is nice and long and the jazz and p style PU combination give s lot of different sound options.

I am happy with my purchase.

value for money, poor strings, poor quality of the wood of the neck.

I was looking for a p-passive 5 strings bass and I got this one. The neck is D-Shape, comfortable at playing, but the wood of which the neck is made is 2nd choice material, full of wooden knots and not regular as it should be for a mid-high level of instrument of the Harley Benton line (the most expensive 5 strings HB bass costs 330 euros).

The bolt of the jack plug was too much tightened, so it ruined the area around it.

The pick-ups are silent, and this is a good new: no hum or noise. Anyway they needed an accurate setup, because they came with the screws all lifted up. For an instrument of about 200 euros something more accurate could be expected, even if not the top of the factory adjustment.

The sound is quite good, but only after having changed the strings (35 euros), having redone the setup, and having adjusted the distance of the pickups from the strings. I would have liked more care in the setup before the delivery.
