Absolutely astounded by the quality of this instrument for the price. The only thing that I would recommend is to upgrade the strings.

Great for me

I've wanted to go get a lap steel for a while, I already play slide on a regular guitar and didn't want to pay a bucket full of money for something that I might not use a lot. The sound is amazing, it feels great to play and as a beginner to lap steel it is perfect for me and the price is amazing.

Great Little Slider

A great sounding slider , wasn't sure if i should get one being so cheap i thought it was going to need quite a few modifications but no , i am very happy with it , i don't think i'll be modding it at all. very pleased , how do they do it for the money ?

Nice kit on budget..

bought pretty much on a whim, this piece of kit punches well above its weight sound and playability wise. Ok- you could criticize in quality of parts used etc but the bottom line is it sounds good and was ridiculously good value. For what it is- can't fault it..

Bargain addition to the musical armoury!

Have always loved the sound of lap/pedal steel but, for whatever reason, never even thought to get one despite mimicking the sound on guitar for decades.

Having built an ambient setup recently, and being more than pleased with an HB CST24 P90 purchase, the penny dropped to just get a low-cost HB offering and give it a try. It fits perfectly for creating soundscapes and pads. Having originally set it up to an Open D tuning and getting my head around where the note relationships are have been having a ball going over YouTube videos for further insight and ideas. After that, raising the tuning a whole-step and flattening the 3rd string (so I can switch between Major/Minor behind the bar) makes more sense at the moment but will probably tweak it further as the learning progresses.

Coupled with a volume pedal and various effects-chains being a beginner again is great fun. The instrument does the job intended with the pickup being adequate and even to my ears after raising it a little on the treble side. The tuners don't seem to have a very good ratio but after giving the strings a good stretching over a few hours of playing seem to hold pitch okay so will do for now. It appears to intonate okay as well. I'll invest in a better tone-bar at some point, and probably some tuners, but the one provided will do at this point of the journey.

No complaints at this price and delivered to the UK within a week.

Great instrument at this price

Yes, you can find better, and the first thing I did was change the strings and give it an intonation set-up.

But as an independent guitar tech with my own workshop I know you can spend a lot more and it will still need new strings and a set-up. But at this price I give it 5 stars all the way. Great fun!

Great value for money very well made and sounds great once you get the hang of using a lap steel.

Comes with a handy case.

Fun Lap Steel

I have nothing to compare this too in terms of other lap steels. I have had it for over a years now. I liked it straight away but once I changed the strings it became so much better to play. I use C6 tuning and it is a different animal to a dobro in terms of playing. I have used it in home recordings and at gigs and it works as it should. For the money and if your thinking of getting into the world of lap steel i would say go for it.

Great intro to Lap Steel Guitar

Bought this for fun as I had some HB instruments so far and more or less was always satisfied with the quality and wanted an add to my guitar collection. Sound wise for sure is not as a high end products, but more then decent instrument to jump into the waters of Lap Steel techniques.

get one

just great for the price. stays in tune forever. pick up, bridge, fretboard, intonation- everything works fine. you WILL need to change the strings asap. maybe useful for a day or two for blues in open e or g but they are tinny and far too thin and loose. needs a heavier guage. im using c6 strings for country and top string is a 15. also finger/thumb picks needed for most people. came very well packaged although plastic film covering the hardware was a real pain to remove. actually had to undo screws to get fully rid of it and there is still some stuck under knobs. tone bar and bag are cheapish but do the job. highly recommended.

Good lap steel!

I bought this lap steel along with other itens, because it was really cheap. Although it is cheap for its price, it is really well built. Doesn't feel cheap at all! The included tonebar was a nice bonus as well.

The black finish looks really nice, and the tuners are efficient and hold tune father well. It's relatively small, so it was easy to adapt a violin case in order to store and transport the lap steel with all its accessories.

The sound is quite clear and articulate. I wasn't expecting such a clean sound from such an Inexpensive instrument, and was quite surprised!

For this price and build quality, it's a keeper!

Ticks all the boxes

Bought for my wife for a birthday present (she's always wanted one). At this price level (£58 at time of purchase) you don't expect a lot, but the review were promising, so I went for it. I'm a guitar player, but know nothing about slide guitar playing. But it sounds good to me! With a bit of playing ability I think it would sound like the real thing! It's certainly not a toy, though it is great fun. The finish on it (a subtle metallic black) is flawless and the chrome bits and pieces all look good. The tuners are a bit sensitive, but once in tune it seems to stay there. So ........ looks good, sounds good (actually very good) and bargain price. Brilliant!
