Ok Guitar for money

The pickups is best in the guitar, the fretboards buzzing little but adjusment needed for get off the buzzing. the tremolo is could be better but as guitar player the guitar is one of best in that price range.

A beautiful guitar at a fantastic price.

I was hesitant to purchase this guitar since the price was so low. I was expecting a poorly made guitar that I'd need 2 hours of setup to get to an even playable state. It turns out all I needed to do was tune it, since it had been in the back of a truck on the cold morning of delivery. The neck is fantastic, with no extra fretwork needed. The setup out of the box was great and all the electronics work with no scratchiness or noise. This is a great-quality instrument for a low, low price. My only gripe is that the volume control is a bit stiff to turn, so one-finger "roll-offs" aren't exactly comfortable.

The colours and brushed-metal finish look even better in-person than any photos could do justice...simply a beautiful guitar.

So glad I bought this.

Amazing value for money

It was a bit of a gamble getting this guitar, considering that I was not familiar with playing Harley Bentons. Having read the reviews I was happy to go out on a limp and get it, and I am very happy with this decision.

Basically, if you're looking for a 400-500 EUR Fender stratocaster but can't afford it, this is as close you can get for 200 EUR.

Pros:

- Really fat neck

- Pickups were better than expected.

- Looks much better in real life than in the pictures as the pick guard is like a faded gold.

Cons:

- It required a little bit of tweaking before it reaches ''full potential'' to play on, but this can be done within 15 minutes and is fine for me considering the price.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this as a starter guitar, a modest expansion of your current guitar collection or even as a gift. Great value for money.

good but the fretwork is appalling on mine

For a more expensive 'vintage series', the fretwork is appalling compared to other cheaper HBs I have, and I also have lots of Fenders etc (which also sometimes have the same problem by the way). Must polish them if you don't want blood on your fingers.

Otherwise, it looks and sounds great. Pity for the fretwork.

Anyway sounds cannot be better, so take cool design

well even the design is not original,

but it is usable guitar

Usually harley benton guitars do not disappoint you

Nice strat style

Great looking! except one feature, the pick-guard is very ugly! looks cheap. All else is great! My preferred features are the skunk stripe, and sating neck profile.

(4.5 rounded up) Fantastic Guitar

I'm mainly a hollow-body/humbucker jazz guy but I recently landed a gig that required an s-type guitar that was specifically requested from the MD of the band. I had one already and needed a backup. This was that guitar.

Build:

In terms of build quality I was pleasantly surprised by how well this guitar felt. I can't say it can compare to my more expensive pleked guitars but I won't deny it, this thing can hold up against any of my Indonesian made guitars! No sharp fret ends, leveled frets and came set up well (slightly high for my taste). Fit and Finish is good.

Sound:

These Roswell pickups are better than any pickups in any other guitars by any other manufacturers at this price point; big or small. I was certain I would need to upgrade them at some point but I'm honestly happy enough to keep 'em. They aren't noise cancelling or anything to write home about but if you're seeking that s-type sound, this'll do it. If you're interested in hearing the guitar, I've played it on my Instagram account. @chrismedinamusic

All in all, this guitar is well worth the price tag and I can recommend it!

Excellent guitar to begin

I've bought this guitar as a beginner so the review is aimed to people who being and for who this guitar will be their first.

It's a great instrument, very easy to get used to and pleasant to play.

I' recommend getting a bit of lubricant on the head of the guitar where the strings are attached and in the tremolo bar as well. Otherwise, amazing guitar and also a great decorative object haha

Overall good guitar and I totally recommend buying one

I bought this guitar recently and all I can say that is a good guitar.

The sound is good and it does meets the requirements for the price. The Roswell pickups are not one of the best but definitely not the worst.

The guitar construction is solid and the neck slightly on the chunky side but for me its fine since I have larger hands and it feels comfortable.

The fretwork is done perfectly and the neck feeling is smooth.

The tuning machines are OK and the tremolo is slightly stiff but its usable.

The only thing that I didn't like about this guitar is that the hole for the nut is not equally processed and on one side I can see spacing, but this not necessarily means it is a generic design issue.

The frets needed additional polishing as well.

Overall its a good guitar for the money and I really do enjoy playing on it.

Great guitar at a great price!

My third Harley Benton guitar and, as with all the others, I'm ultimately extremely happy with it. It's a drop dead gorgeous guitar in my opinion, kinda like a golden milkshake type vibe. Aesthetically there is little to complain about. The fret board has one small dark 2cm streak in what is otherwise a uniformly light brown color but, while taking away from "perfection", it doesn't really bother me at all. The frets themselves were adequately polished but there was one single fret that had a slightly pointy end-edge. a tiny bit of polishing with grit paper took care of it feel wise but it left a slight discoloration where I had polished. No biggie.

As is not unusual with HB guitars, the strings mounted on the instrument when shipped were a bit rusty, but I had ordered spares. Intonation was perfect out-of-the-box but the action overall was not properly adjusted, resulting in a lot of rustling sounds especially on the thinner strings. Simply raising all individual strings at the base (using the tool that came with the guitar) to the max was still not enough so I ended up having to play with the truss rod adjustment as well, again with a hexagonal spanner that came shipped with the guitar. This was the first time ever that I performed this kind of adjustment myself (trussrod/action) and while I think a real luthier could do a better job, I at least I got it to the point where the action is acceptable to me. It would have been nice if this had been done before shipping it out and this issue is the primary reason why I only give four stars on quality and not five.

At first I thought there must be something wrong with the output of the electronics in the guitar, because the amp (bought with the guitar) was producing a terrible high pitched whine nearly all the time. Eventually I realized that the noise came from the refrigerator located in the same room, and unplugging this instantly eliminated the annoying whine.

So yea, all in all, very happy, would buy again and I play it every day! Now time to start saving up for a Les Paul copy :)

Final update: been playing this pretty much every day for over two years and one thing I can't help but notice is that the neck has shrunk ever so slightly. As a result all the frets are now a little bit too wide and especially towards the body they protrude noticeably resulting in the skin on my hands getting torn a bit when I handle the guitar. Also the high E often gets stuck under a fret. Will try to file them all down at some point, hopefully I can do it without ruining the finish too much. Apart from this I still love the guitar and would buy again.

Only high-end Squiers and standard Fenders can compete with this guitar

I am writing this short review after almost six months of having this guitar so I think I know know what are its pros and cons. The truth is that you cannot buy a better stratocaster for that price (we are talking about new guitars, not used ones). I've had almost all Squier guitars in my hands and, really, the only Squier that could be said to have been equal to this HB would be the Classic Vibe - which is now 3 times more expensive. But straight to the point

- The neck is probably the best part of that guitar. It is rather thin than thick, yet the fretboard is quite wide which makes it overall very comfortable to play. Not to mention, that the neck comes with a great glossy finish and a real-bone nut.

- Roswell pickups are also great in terms of sound. This is just as close to that bright, stratty sound as you can get. Really no need to replace them, they sound great, especially some dirty clean/crunch presets.

- Very good tremolo bridge. The block is much thicker than in other strat guitars. The tuners are OK. The guitar stands in tune most of the time and you can do some tricks with the whammy bar but you have to be careful. It's good overall but a divebomb is to much for the tuners to handle - but it was to be expected.

- The strings were quite high above the frets when I unboxed the guitar so bear in mind that before you start playing - the hardware needs to be set up.

Overall it is a great Stratocaster guitar. I am very pleased with it.

Great strat from Harley Benton!

I bought this guitar basically to try out different pickups. I was hoping that the stock pickups would change my mind. But sadly no, they were kinda of thin sounding to my individual taste, Guitar is not shielded so be prepared for noise and hum.

I took off the anodised pickguard as it was picking up some static. Change the pickguard to a Harley Benton Parts Pickguard SSS Parchment A.

I think the guitar is worth getting as the workmanship and hardware are up to par. No sharp frets..intonation is well done although the tremolo bridge is set up as a non floating bridge.

If you can live with the sound of the pickups then you will thoroughly enjoy it without spending any more money.

My review of this guitar is @ my youtube channel

Guitar itself is pretty and nicely finished, plays pretty well and stays in tune, however the pick-ups are very noisy and undefined, hard to get a clean sound out of it.

I have bought this guitar mainly because of the positive reviews I have read (and the fact that it looks great). I have since used it for everything, from home practicing to small gigs.

I am extremely pleased with the product and have recommended it to all my friends.

The guitar arrived very nicely set up. I only lowered the action a little bit, because i prefer it low, tuned, and that was it. The frets were a little rough, which is to be expected, but they smoothed about a half hour of playing.

The two things I like the most is the beautiful looks and the beautiful sound of the guitar. I play it mainly through my BOSS Katana 100 and with this combination I can achieve almost any tone I want. It's really amazing for a guitar in this price range. The guitar almost never goes out of tune, and the tuners feel like they are very decent quality. I only have to tune it maybe once a week, even when I play quite a lot.

Overall I am extremely pleased, and will definitely buy Harley Benton again.

Vintage White

A beautiful looking instrument. Vintage white with a metal scratch plate and gold hardware. It has a comfortable C-shape neck with nicely finished frets The Roswell Pickups are well balanced, and compare favourable to the Wilkinsons. This is a very pleasing guitar which plays superbly. It came well set up so was singing from the time it came out of the box. A very good purchase.
