Nice guitar but too heavy

I like this guitar, the build quality/finish are excellent and the satin finished neck is lovely to play BUT the guitar weighs 4.4kg (9.7lbs) so is too heavy. I didnt think this would be an issue but if you have this guitar on a strap you quickly feel it. I'd keep the guitar if it were a little lighter but at this weight im not using it.

Beautiful Guitar - Way Too Heavy

I own 9 HB's and am a big fan. This guitar, though beautiful is way too heavy. I play it the least out of all in my collection because of its weight. Looks great in the guitar rack though. Can't beat the price for the overall looks and quality of the guitar though. If your a Prince fan you won't be disappointed.

Definitely a telecaster that looks like Prince's guitar. Great look. Good sound - tuners? Ehh.

I got this one about six months ago. I've changed the strings, and done a few review videos of it. It's not my go-to guitar, but it's definitely my funk guitar. It's got the spank, the pickups are great, the neck is decent. The tuners are the weakest link right now.

Solid Guitar For the Money

I've had this guitar for a years now and I think it sounds really good, bright and warm, I think they have different pick-ups now, mine were Wilkinsons. I was a bit disappointed with the flame finish as on my guitar it does not look finished and there are two areas of dark areas of dense varnish or lacquer and the flame is quite minimal. Although this does make the guitar look a little more like Prince's worn Madcats. The neck is also slightly out of line with the body but only noticeable upon close inspection. The frets needed dressing and I also replaced the machine heads and bridge for Gotoh parts. I also bought a scratchplate and bridge scrathplate set. The nut isn't great and I will replace soon. I didn't bother to report this when I got the guitar and I did buy this guitar expecting to to replace parts. I have used it for loads of rehearsals and some gigs (after my alterations) and it has been really solid and as I said above it sounds great and let's be honest, they are very inexpensive.

Beautiful instrument

Guitar can play. Needs work.

Not as described

Be warned. The one I just received has a black bound fretboard. The neck and fretwork is excellent but it doesn’t look right. This needs to be listed in the description.

Nice Looking, average sound, but sooooooo Heavy!!

I?m no great player, more of a long suffering learner. I have a handful of acoustics, a Squier strat and a mid range Squier tele made of pine. I thought the tele was insanely heavy until I got this Harley. My tutor has a custom Fender Tele made of ash and you can pick it up with two fingers, the Harley requires a strong arm to lift and gets uncomfortable on a strap. Soundwise it?s a little shrill, not much buzz or rattle. Well finished, frets good, nice lacquer. But how did they get so much weight out of a piece of ash?

Sadly, very poor quality guitar.

Sound is good enough, if you can get rid of the buzz.

Lacquer on pickguard peeled off.

Not perfect but great for the money although communication could be better

Like most I bought this guitar for its proximity to Prince's Madcat - no other company seems to offer anything like it and, if they did, it would probably be twice as expensive

So the good:

- It was affordable

- It looks great on the stand (although the pickguards aren't my preference but they can be replaced easily)

- Youtube and written reviews suggest its a very good guitar for the cost.

-It arrived quickly and safely to the UK even over a busy Xmas/New Year period

The not so good:

- Its not perfect quality by any means -

1) the stain on the fretboard has small areas of natural wood where its been missed

2) the pickup switch knob had sharp 'tags' from the molding

3) the switch itself wobbles up and down slightly

4) one of the machine heads was much looser than the others and the decorative stickers on them have fallen off already

5) the frets were unbelievably rough (and still are in places) which really grated against the strings when playing

6) the screws holding the knobs and switches in are wonky and sit up at an angle where they've not been put in straight

Having said all of that, based on the guitar itself, I think I would definitely order another

Wouldn't buy again...

Unlike my Harley Benton Rosewood telecaster, this one needs a lot of work to be playable. The frets are uneven and flat on the tops. Surprisingly, the Wilkinson pickups really sound poor. Not my usual experience with Wilkinson. Expect to upgrade the tuners and the bridge as well. One big negative, the neck pocket is to large to accommodate a replacement neck. It was also uneven in the pocket as well and needed some spot sanding. Nice looking and heavy, there's potential locked away in it, but you have to put some work into it first
