very good product

I was really amazed by the build quality, both externally and electronically. a quick fix to the keyboard keys and the guitar is perfect. the pick ups are a little flat and ringing but for some funky situations they are perfect.

Great guitar

Looks a dream, plays a peach from traditional twangy Tele sounds through fat bluesy full sounds on the bridge pickup. Even used it for a jazz set. Very heavy. Mine weighs in at 9lb 11oz. Yeah! Get a back brace to go with it.

Drop Dead Gorgeous.

It's a HB so I know what to expect. A beautiful thing, this one. Popped it on the stand, tilted it so it reflected the winter sun in it's maple veneer. The ash body is astoundingly beautiful set off by the black binding and walnut stripe running down the middle. What does it play like? I have no idea, I'm still looking at it.

Snappy tele.

Tele is flawless. Great tones. A bit chunky in weight but its beautiful.

Fantastic for the price with a few caveats to consider.

I've been craving a T style guitar for a while but wanted something that sounds more akin to a strat than a traditional tele. Lo and behold I spied the TE-80. In person the guitar is even more gorgeous than the photos, the one I received has the wood grain matched really well on the front and back. The binding on the neck and body has a few blemishes and are the only part of the finish I have any issues with, but with a bit of tactful wearing in these areas they will be hidden over time. Out of the box the guitar played ok but not well enough for anyone with a feel for how a guitar should play herein lies the caveats to this guitar. I lowered the action myself as it was a bit high out of the box and this improved things but as expected with a guitar of this price it required a visit to my luthier to set up properly. The guitar required the following issues rectifying:

-Full fret levelling and removal of sharp fret ends some of the binding had got onto the ends too so this was filed off. Some of the frets weren't seated properly introducing buzz as well.

-Truss rod adjustment, the neck was concaved out of the box- expected

-Intonation was out but only slightly would have been done regardless as the truss rod adjustment was essential

-The nut fitted on the guitar was rubbish so I had this changed out too

-Electrics all cleaned properly

-Action set nice and low (personal preference)

All in this cost me around £100 extra but with these adjustments the guitar now plays like something triple the £266 I spent on it. It sounds amazing and I'm still experimenting with different tones with some fiddling I have got some nice punchy strat tones and you can get the twingy twangy tele sound with the selector switch on the bridge or middle position. Also really nice for funk sounds as expected for a prince copy. I'm using 0.8's on it again this is personal preference but they sound very nice. Finally as it has an ash body it is really heavy (almost 3x the weight of my epiphone les paul) I'm in my early 30's and have a couple of shoulder/back issues and it's right on the cusp of being too heavy for me for long periods so if you are playing on using a strap its worth considering.

A recommended purchase

A very good purchase for the quality / price ratio. The sound is impeccable. the visual aspect is very good and beautiful. Let's say... it's different from other tele models. The Roswell mics came in poorly printed, but they sound great.

Prince Guitar Riffs

Awesome style and action on this guitar, only issue is the weight of the guitar, heavy funk playing rhythm sounds super.

I am Japanese, I missed buying H.S.Anderson 40 years ago.

At that time, a guitar that cost the same as my starting salary was an H.S.Anderson. I wanted one, but I couldn't afford it.

This guitar reminds me of it. The high end sound is the same. It's a bit hard for me to handle now and I think I'll change the pickups, but I'll try to remember how I felt then and play Prince.

Very nice project guitar

Normally I don't buy guitars online. I want to feel and hear the guitar before I buy it. So in this case I made an exception and went for it. No regrets. At this price, a very beautiful and nice sounding guitar. Is it perfect ? No. Value for money ? Yes !

Planning to experiment with it and make some changes. Playability and tuning will be the first things to handle.

4 stars considering the price.

Only complaints are sharp frets and uneven stripe down the back. I think more recent models may have corrected that issue. I threw on a pickguard that makes it look like Prince's guitar and was all set all in all a great guitar for the price.

about harley benton te 80 nt deluxe series

this is best tele in this price i found. Ash body , alnico pickups and good hardware. I changed the saddles for stainless steel and strings for 9- 42 beacuse i like it personally but it;s really good guitar in original hardware too.

Love this Guitar

As a pro that uses Fender, Martins and Gibson guitars I wasn't expecting much. I was totally surprised! Never bought a guitar that didn't need to be set up. Straight out of the box. Tuned it up and it played beautifully. The fret board is flatter than a Fender but I prefer it. I had to have the fret board of my Strat flattened. The finish is flawless. Pickups are quite.

Only drawbacks are the weight, but no heavier than my Fender J-Bass and possibly the pickups. Those can be changed out.

Overall, I really like this guitar. Looking into the ST90SA next.

the only thing wrong was one of the tuners was slightly crooked,an easy fix though. If that was corrected I would give it five stars

Beautiful guitar, nice neck, haven’t taken the time to do some mods as of yet. Needs tuners upgraded, nut is cut to high. Will be changing nut to a graph tech and replacing tuners with locking , pickups and doing some fret work. Not sure what PU’s to use. Open for suggestions, current pickups lack character, very skinny . With a few things and a little work I am looking forward to a great looking, playing guitar.

Well built for the money

Well built for the money...not quite an exact copy of a MadCat...pick-guard is not correct, binding & center strip look like they are painted on...not real binding or wood strip.

On a quiet note.

The appearance and playability of the guitar is good. I seem to be having a problem with the volume output of the " D " string. It is noticeably quieter than the rest of the strings I don't think the pole pieces are adjustable so I intend to fit a small, powerful magnet to the underside of the "D" pole piece to see if this will boost the volume.

Worth Buying... Good Guitar !!!

i bought a few electric guitar before like jackson or ibanez. but this guitar finish is amazing compare to the other one. for its prize am stunned. i really love the wilkinson pick up as well. its match what i wanted. its clear n precise for my style. the only little detail thats bad is the metal fret. its a bit rough. its not smooth when u do pitch bending. but i think it will be ok if i lubricate it. but for its price i dont mind at all. this harley benton was totally worth buying and i ll come again to buy them. i would easily recommend it to beginner as it is so accessible n easy to play with.

All good apart from the neck.

Seriously a lot of guitar for the money, I only bought this as I needed a body to marry to a Hohner Prinz neck.

Good hardware, there's enough positives about the Wilkinson pickups written elsewhere, I can't add any more.

The neck however was awful, razor sharp fret edges, not unexpected on a guitar at this price point but a serious let down nevertheless.
