Harley Benton Ukulele UK-11DW Brown Reviews
that was a surprise
I always like ukulele, the sound and the look of it. I was thinking to give it a try for fun and relaxing. But I would never spend a big amount. To be honest, I havent played another ukulele before so I m not able to compare the sound, but this one is great in a fair price. Looking good and easy to play and spend time with. Thanks Harley Benton! :)
Cheap ukulele
For the price that I paid for it I couldn't ask for more. This ukulele is great for learning to play or just for fun. My daughter is loving it and so do I
PROS:
- Cheap!
CONS:
- Bad strings. I cut in half a set of nylon classical guitar strings and I can use them twice.
- Bad intonation. Needs adjustments at the nut and bridge. But ok if you only play near the nut. Some sanding wouldn't take you more than 10 minutes.
- Unpolished frets. Get yourself a steel wool
- Neck was dry. Oil it and you'll be good
Great bang for a buck
For a few euros it is fun to have this uke. It is easy to play and sounds allright. The quality of the fretboard is slightly low though. But very acceptable for a cheap uke.
Best Beginner Choice
I think that is the best choice for beginner players. It is pretty good compared to the other brands at same price level. I have to say I was quite surprised about it's quality, I just had to change the strings (I am using Aquila strings) and now it is sounding GREAT!
I bought this ukulele so I can try it and have fun during my holidays. It arrived quickly, the shipping and the wrapping were good as usual.
I am very pleased with it, the sound is pretty good considering the price of the ukulele, the quality is satisfying and playing it is comfortable. If you're looking for a ukulele just to have fun, this one's for you.
Great starter ukulele
After 2 days of playing and after stretching the strings I have to say that it keep the intonations decently and it has a nice sound.
Pro: great ukulele for the price
Cons: tuners are not the best but more than enough for the price
Class wee Uke!
This Ukelele is possibly one of the cheapest you can buy, however don't let that deter you due to fear of quality - this instrument looks great and plays great, however for this uke to sound great, you will need to spend another £5 respectively for new strings.
The strings that come with this uke are very cheap and don't do the uke justice, some third party strings will make the uke sound great whilst still retaining your budget.
If you're thinking about starting the uke or want to have some fun, this is the uke for you - if you're recording, probably purchase a uke the caters to the recording scene more.
Affordable & quality product!
This is my first ukulele, I never played it before, so I didn't wanted to spend much money for this! It's a nice affordable & portable-small instrument! Quallity seems very good, so the sound is! All in all, a very affordable-portable quallity ukulele, that even offered with a soft case! Very well done, Harley Benton!! :-)
Awesome uke!? I love the colour. But the strings are not quite good. But... when you change the strings it will sounds amazing!
good starter ukulele
I bought this item to start playing ukulele. It is good looking instrument and the sound is OK. It doesn't stay in tune properly but this is a very cheap instrument. Plus it comes with a case:) I highly recomend it for starters...
Very good
It looks better than the pictures. For its price I thought that it would look cheap but I was blown away when I saw it. This is my first ukulele and I'm obviously not an expert but I think its sound is great. I also liked that it has a case too. I would definitely recommend it.
Perfrect christmas present for a wife.
I have checked out this ukulele and it sounds even much better than some ukes which cost 50-100 euros. Bought it to make a proposal to my crush. I am sure, she will love it.
Its not a toy
I bought it for my nephew (3 years old), to start playing some stringed instrument.
After the Uke arrived i was amazed - its better then i thought.
Stays in tune, the frets are ok, the neck is ok, you can adjust the bridge if you want, so its playable and fun! It doesnt have a beautyful voice, but sound like an instrument. I also like the color.
Buy spare string sets!
For beginners and children! Its a good gift, and you cant find better for this price!
Would and will buy it again!
Great for hobbyists!
If you wanna play uke for fun, or as a beginners instrument, for the price, you can' beat these! Great value, good gig bag, very good workmanship. Recommended for beginners, weekend warriors and hobbyists.
Looks lovely
Once the strings are settled you can make great headway
in learning to play .
A DIY Uke
Thsi is one of the cheapest ukes on earth, so what can you expect.
Out of the box this uke only gets 1 star. The strings are rubbish, the action is far to high, the intonation is bad. And the frets are a bit sharp.
But....if you are a DIY man/woman you can make a decent uke out of this. Invest 6 Euro in Martins M600 strings, lower the action and the intonation will get much better and so the playability. Smoothen the fret-ends and hereyou go: a decent beginners-ukulele for less than ¤25. Not the cheapest uke on earth anymore, but a decent one. Worth 3 stars.
Great
Great ukulele, for this price much more what you get. Sound is good and there is no bad feature except type of colour over instrument. It leaves you finger tips on it at lest one hour.
Generaly, more than nice instrument for such a price.
Cheap and cheerful
Lets start by admitting something. If you're only spending about ¤20 on a ukulele it is unfair to expect to be anything other than a starter instrument.
That being said, these wonderful little things are surprisingly good. The only thing I would advise is that you replace the strings that come with it. I use Aquila strings (item: 251579).
Once the new strings are on it is a whole new instrument. So ultimately you can potentially have a rather good ukulele for ¤25.
HB Ukulele
This is quite a basic ukulele. It was bought for a beginner who had not played any instrument before. The action at the nut is OK, but as you go up the neck, the strings get further away from the fretboard. The finish on the body is satisfactory. If you want a cheap instrument to see if a person can take to playing ukulele, it's quite suitable for that. For the price it is OK.
