Harley Benton Valuestrings Bass 45-105 4-stars Reviews
bang for your buck
these were perfect for recording some nice crispy rock bass tones. changed them frequently in the studio. they are great but do not last as well as other brands over time. it was perfect what i was doing though. i would recommend if you are after a bright tone and have time to change strings regularly.
Good price
For a price range , its absolutely " value strings "
Cheap price, ok sound
I bought these to string a cheap bass I have and, to be honest, they were exactly what I was thinking they would be. Good sound, ok feeling on the fingers, but when you think that these are going for almost 6 euros, you forget about everything else. These bring bass string prices down to guitar string price levels. All in all, excellent VfM.
Excellent.
These sound great on my trusty 1982 Antoria Jazz (copy) - remember them? I'll be buying more....
Best Value Bass Strings Ever !
Simple these are the Best Value Bass strings I've ever used. Ok not top end strings to be fair, but they last well, play well and most importantly, they sound very good, even at twice the price ... Nuff Said !
beter than what i imagined
it's cheap and good I don't have really a comment to give just to say that sound is great the quality is what you pay for but I bought another set of strings that costed me € 21,00 and i didn't see de diference between them.
It costs a quarter of a [insert leading brand], what are you expecting?
I used these for way too long (over nine months) because I was broke before starting to buy more known brand, and these honestly work perfectly fine. When fresh they're quite zingy, not as much as bigger brands but that's a benefit if you like the old string tone. The end of the strings, the parts beyond the nut and the bridge saddles look sloppily wrapped but for the price it's not a big deal. Even after months of use, the biggest issue was some oxidation and feeling noticeably less tense.
For what it's worth you're paying pennies for a perfectly ok set of strings, wish they offered them in 50-110 too. Decent choice while you're still practicing and not recording, and at this price it's not a big deal to change them regularly.
Good strings
Again h.b. strings worth ur money
Great cheap strings
Bass guitar strings are expensive and its great to have these affordable ones around. Recommended!
Very good strings!!
Wasn't expecting this sound out of these strings, I was shocked by the clarity of them!!
Cheap stirngs wich sounds like the cheapest
I bought this strings, because I want to compare this strings with other strings in this price. Althought another string would be cheaper, it sounds better.
My verdict: this strings must be use for new players for practice, but for performance shall be use more expencive strings
Love em.
Great budget strings
Just sort out the string coverings (so they align at the heatstock) and they'd be perfect. But you look like a nonce as they don't.
It's bass strings, what did you expect?
Here I go again, thinking Harley Benton's stuff might be worse due to its low price. After the third product I've purchased off Mr. Benton, I am convinced you can get MORE guitar with less €. Bought this together with my new HB Bass and I can't find anything wrong with them.
I can't say they have wowed me, but neither have they disappointed me. After trying them out, I don't see the point in dishing out a tenner more for medium-low grade GHS or others.
Decent and cheap
You have to try them for yourself, very good for the price.
they get the job done
this proves other string brands are overpriced.
Surprisingly good strings
I acquired a few sets of these to string up some bases that weren't going to be regular players since £30+ per bass gets expensive when ones has multiple basses.
The big surprise was during a jazz bass stringing experiment when I actually found these to be a lot closer than their competition to the full on bright tone i was looking for.
This is clearly just a personal thing but at least one of my Jazz basses is going to be strung with these from now on.
Now, the only thing i don't love about these strings is the feel, especially when new but i generally use expensive strings and that these are not! I also felt they were a little brighter than I would like on a precision bass but please accept that as my opinion based on my personal preferences.
Worth the asking price, certainly, they are good, consistently made strings you can trust.
actually love these, they work wonderful and for the price you cant complain at all.
Great Value Bass Strings
I was a little skeptical when buying these due to their low price, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Harley Benton have smashed the price barrier for working players and amateur enthusiasts alike, who have always had to part with around €20 and upwards for a set of bass strings. These are nickel and I can't tell a great deal of difference between these and other nickel strings, they seem to last reasonably well too. I use these on precision and Jazz basses. They are particularly good for "old school" warmer tones for blues, jazz, soul, finger funk, and Motown etc. For rock and slap I normally use steels which tend to be brighter and have more attack. So HB please, please, please make stainless steel sets too!
Good for the money
I bought these as I was a bit short on money, They sound great, but they looked a little bronzeish when I strung up my bass.
Great, considering the price
Pros:
* Cheap
* Good overall sound
Cons:
* A string is noticeably more quiet
