Harley Benton Valuestrings Bass 45-105 Reviews
Great Value
As a regular gigging bass player, I thrash through strings in no time. These are brilliant quality with a good life span. Smooth to play and a lively sound that doesn't deaden off quickly.
Over all extremely happy with my purchase, I will be buying more!
I order them multiple sets at a time so I always have them to hand
Decent bang for the buck
I'm not that into bass but I do find the strings okay and decent for my bass which I do not play regularly.
They come at a really cheap price so in my opinion they're okay.
Great for that price
As the tittle says, you get what you pay for.. Eventhough these are cheap strings the actually sound awsome... And if you are a gigging musisian like me, and feel the need to change string often these are the ideal ones for you. Ordered these one time just to try them , and since then have used no other strings... Definitely recomend that you buy these.
Cheap But Good Quality Strings
Very cheap bass strings that are a great quality and saved an actual concert for me.
I bought these because a friend of mine had actually broke a string on one of my basses, not only was i annoyed but in a dilemma, not having much money at and having to buy strings 5 days before a gig, i could just afford these but really expected to have to buy new string soon after using these but surprisingly im still using them to this day, i would prefer them in a thicker 50 gauge but sadly Harley Benton does not provide them.
Tone wise they dont sound much different between D'arrdrios which is what i tend to use, genre wise they are
very flexible as well, i tend to stick to hard rock/heavy metal but they do suit and i can get some very nice tones
from them acoustically and amped up.
They are tending to decay and get dirty but i do use my bass regularly and preform alot so i have expected this,
they do feel quiet rough after a long session like 23 hours and can cause some soreness to possible new
players.
Overall you get some good strings for a very low price
Great value
These are not the best strings i have ever used. They lose that fresh sound in few weeks. They sound ok, but not great. They hold tune like any other, no problem there. All in all, pretty... meh.
The selling point for these strings is their price. Extremely high value for money ratio. If you need strings to hold in your gigbag just in case you need it in the middle of the gig, get a set, you won't regret it.
If you need a set of strings and you are a beginner, go for it 100%, you won't hear the difference (for a while, until your ears train them selves a bit).
Over all, 6/10. For this price, 11/10.
Initally had quite high tension but they settled down.
They don't have as much winding as more expensive strings but they are definitely great value for money. You won't get bass strings for cheaper. I always used to use 40 euro branded strings, even for bar gigs where I would just be buried in the mix. These are great value for money for day to day use, I will save the expensive ones for the studio from now on.
Clear sound, good longevity
I own quite a lot of basses which were in need of some new strings, as we all know, there are so many different kinds, and most of them are quite expensive.
So, I just decided to take a risk and to order some of these HB strings, and I haven't regretted it since!
They sound nice and clear, the string tension is very comfortable, and to my own surprise, they last for quite some time. All the basses I use for practice at home are know fitted with these strings. And for the money, you can change them quite often.
Great value!
It did not take long to order these strings for my bass guitar. The minute i saw the price i could not believe in my eyes. I change regurarly strings as i am a working musician, that means two sets per month that results in 50 euro / month. The quality is not just as great as an expensive set of let's say ernie ball and the surface of the strongs are a little harsh but you can get used to it really fast. I had no problem so far with strings breaking or unwinding and that is a good thing. All and all you can buy a a lot of packages and change regural strings to make your bass return to life. There is no excuse anymore saying you prefer the middy tone of old strings!!
Clear and punchy
These strings sound great, and last ages.
They have a fairly bright tone, which I like; it makes the bass sound quite `punchy', great for funk or rock.
I bought several packs and am glad I did.
The only problem is that I've now got a 6-string bass, but there's no 6-string set of these!
perfect for the price.
I bought five of these for the price of a single pack of more expensive strings. sure they don't last very long before they start sounding dead, but i'll always take five of these before I buy a single set of daddario's or fender's.
Good quality
I bought this for my new bass at the time and they're really good, easy to change. Nice sound produced from them, can't find anything wrong with them.
I've recommended them to people I know.

Good product
great budget strings
Can't go wrong at this price, great for setting up a bass and for home practice. Price for price there's nothing out there to compare.
would buy again at twice the price
Very good price-quality ratio
I bought these for my HB P-bass diy kit and I´m very impressed. These strings do the job they are meant to do and are a steal considering the price. We´ll see how they perform in the long run but either way you can get a few of these sets with the price of one more expensive set.
Bass Strings Harley Benton
Really good strings and very great price! Use them almost 3 years. I am satisfied with them totally. Very cool for beginner and some studio works as well. But if you are proffesional bass player I would recommend something more expensive and its better that they would be for Drop D or below. More bright sound when you use long scale. Anyway I recomend these string as quality so price!!!
Budget price - but not budget tone
Bass strings are quite expensive and so often I will wait longer than I should before replacing them, however I recently spotted these and decided to add a packet alongside my other items to see if they were any good. They are packaged in the typical heady duty plastic bag and each string is individually packaged in a sealed plastic bag. Unlike other similarly priced strings I have bought, these have the ends wrapped in silk (in this case orange coloured).
I was not expecting much from them given the price but I was pleasantly surprised. I would say about 90% of the tone of the ?big? brands is there. Will need to wait longer to see about their longevity, but they have not immediately died after 3 or 4 sessions ? So far so good. Worth adding a packet to your order, it could end up saving you a lot of money!
Don't let the name or price fool you!
You probably can't find any cheaper bass strings in europe!
Not the same hyped high end like many of the "bright" strings outthere, but not at all dull sounding.
Actually surprisingly good. I'm getting more!!
Highly recomended!!
For the price these strings are well worth!!!
I paid for 1 set £3.59!!!
Unbelievable!!!
Initially I bought 2 sets just to keep them as spare strings should one break during a gig then my curiosity took advantage on me and I put one of these sets on my fretless jazz bass, well with great surprise these strings sounded good, nothing less than normal medium priced strings I normally use on that bass in particular so the set is going to stay there and I am going to buy more sets as soon as possible.
In terms of longevity I don't see any problems as they seem very well built and the orange fabric wrapping at the ends of the strings looks good and also give me a sense of quality.
For the price they are well worth a try,
Good for the price
These bass strings are not particularly good and I would take Ernie Balls over them any day.
However, they are VERY cheap and a good thing to have a couple of just in case.
These are great strings
These are very good strings. I put them on one of my basses and they sound just about right.
Tone-wise, they sound like good roundwound strings. They might not be as smooth as DRs, and chances are if you like higher tension such as that you would have with Ernie Balls you might be slightly disappointed. But for the price they're a total steal and you should try them ? you might like them a lot.
I would have no hesitation whatsoever in putting them on a high end instrument. In fact, I believe I will use the vouchers I have to buy some extra packages, so I can try to see how they fare on other instruments.
But then again, this is another proof that bass guitar strings are, generally speaking, severely overpriced. These work wonderfully for their price. And albeit they might not be as bright sounding out of the box as their more expensive counterparts, it's not a difference you would write home about, let alone one you would hear through an amp in a live setting with two guitarists and a loud drummer. I strongly advise trying these strings.
I've had them on for about a month, and even if they went completely dead by tomorrow, they would stil be worth their price and more.
