Harley Benton Valuestrings Bass-5 45-130 Reviews
My go to strings.
These strings are my go to strings for my five string now, they sound amazing and feel great too. They feel really well made and they are a lot cheaper than any other strings I have used. I use them in a professional environment constantly and get compliments on my tone all the time!
My only problem with them is that they loose their brightness quite quickly but at this price it's easy enough to put on a new set.
I don't think i'll change my string brand any time soon either!
I recommend these to any bass player!
Best 5 string out there for it's price!
As with the 4 string variant these are amazingly good strings for its price.
They do not have the initial Zing! of more expensive brands, but I don't much care for that sound so these are perfect already from the beginning, and keep their sound for a long time. I haven't had a string break on these.
Good Quality
Sound and quality on these strings are up there with strings for more than double the money. Intonation and tuning is superb, sound and tone is good and they last longer than other brands I tried. Never experienced a broken string with this brand. Long enough for 35" scale. So buy more of these rather than buying fewer and more expensive ones and change more often so you can enjoy fresh strings for every gig or recording session.
These string are okay
They sound okay, feel okay, and are priced insanely cheap. I always make sure to grab some of these on each order. Good strings if you're just starting out, okay strings if you have played better.
Price over quality!
When you do a lot of gigs on bass, you go through quite a lot of strings. You end up not caring about the quality of the string as you realise the tone of it dies within the first gig or two due to the sweat and dirt it will pick up from your fingers (yes you can clean them but thats something most people forget)
These are value for money! They are not as good as the more expensive strings, but will last as long for a fraction of the price. The difference in sound (on my bass guitars) is the tone is slightly muddier, just like when you have played on strings for a good week, and the volume is a little less.
These days I only buy value strings, unless I am recording.
Not that bad for price
I play D'addarios and I wanted to try these out for peace of mind that I was getting what I was paying for with other strings. These are incredibly mediocre strings that I would advise for people on an incredibly tight budget but don't expect them to sound too great.
