Harley Benton Valuestrings Bass 40-95 Reviews
Well priced set of Bass Strings
Bought theses strings to replace the strings on my Squire Bass, I was tempted in by the low cost, but as only an occasional Bass player I didn't want to spend too much but was very pleased with the quality of these strings.
Couldn't be more happy
As you probably know, bass string are quite expensive, so I bought these strings as a tryout for my squier bronco short scale bass.
I was pretty impressed with the sound, more than enough punch.
They are built to last, after months, still sound the same.
Great quality to price ratio!
Great strings for a great price
I don't see a reason not to try these!
Sound great, feel great. They sound full and crisp, like fresh strings should.
For this price you can buy a few packs without without busting the bank! :)
good cheap strings
very good cheap strings, I just wanted to try them, and they sound good. If you have many basses, and don't play some of them often, these are the perfect strings to string them with so they sound fresh without spending the sum of a new bass just for replacement strings.
Good value
While perhaps not as good as premium brands, these strings are perfectly usable. In fact for bedroom practice I really don't see the point of putting more expensive strings on.
Great strings even if you don't see the price
I have tried a LOT of string brands over time. Let me put it this way: if all musicians were rational, string brands like Elixir, D'Addario, Ernie Ball would go out of business.
Pros:
- very cheap
- sounds good
- lasts long as any other string
Cons:
- limited range of string gauges
Good strings, most of the time.
I have been using them for several years now and I have to say that the quality control is not always the best. In the last set I used, I had 2 dull strings out of 4 ! Not good ! But this is rare and they are really good strings otherwise and for the price paid I am happy to keep buying them for now.
Not bad!
I was expecting some bad grade strings in a case of emergency, ordered 2 packs.
But I was curious and decided to try the out. Turns out (as the header of this review), they're not bad!
They do the job well. I really don't feel like they're cheap or bad.
If you're on a budget, don't care about strings and/or want to try something new, I recommend them!
Excellent value
I don't play the bass that often so these strings are perfect for me. Not too expensive but quality!
Great deal
These bass strings will last you an eternity and do a very good job for the price.
Of course you won't get the same quality that the high rollers like D'addario or GHS give you, but they do the job well.
Very happy with them.
Value for money with a good tone
Bass strings are too expensive. This is a fact.
So when i saw these listed for under £5 a set I was going to give them a fair crack and i am delighted to say that they have not disappointed!
I installed these on my P-Bass and the sound of them is good and bright. There is plenty of string length to install them easily and seem to be holding their tone ok.
I will not be going back to spend £20+ on strings now that I know these do the business. You should do the same.
Good strings for their price
Good sounding strings for the price.
I was kinda impressed with their quality since they are really cheap, but I haven't had any problems at all.
The strings lasted quite a while despite the little use I gave them.
I would recommend them for the price/quality, for any kind of player.
Good value strings

Ideal for spares / Student
value bass light strings
as i sweat buckets on stage i replace them after every almost every gig, these are a really good price and pretty good sound as well...
cheap as chips
you get what you pay for and if you need really cheap strings these are really cheap. they sound cheap too which may or may not be what you are looking for. they are much better than the filthy rusty crappy strings you get on a secondhand bass and would be a good choice to put on a bass you are selling just to liven it up a bit if the strings are old and faded. if you play with lots of effects and distortion then they may be just fine for you and at the end of the day like, they are only a few euro a pack so you cant go wrong if you bear that in mind.
Cheap and good
Very good price and excellent sound!
really bright and snappy i recomend for any one
I had to get strings asap due to a gig and they sounded great ended up using them in hte studio and they sound almost as good as my usual set
Perfect
Got these for my Hofner, for under £5, they're perfect to just throw in your case just in case you need a spare set, the're not the worlds best strings but they do the job very well. If you're only a beginner then there's no point busting the bank on Ernie Ball's. They're also incredibly durable, they'll usually last about 2 and 1/2 months per set.
Would recommend
Best for the price
Excellent bass strings. Not just for the price which is unbeatable, this HB strings ROCK on pair with Ernie Ball and RotoSound. D'addario are little brighter than HB but for Nickel Plated Steel strings must say they have lots of pleasant ringing.
If you by this bass set you cant go wrong!
I love the blue ends on the strings and how fresh they sound, and thy stay fresh for decent period of time..not as Elixir but not worse than Dunlop,EB,DAddario etc..
I pot this and 45-105 on my Fender Jazz Bass and Fender Sting Precision bass and sound is very good. I don't know why people would buy anything else, they're great
Excellent quality/value ratio for the price.
I've gotten 4 packs of these now and only 1 string has broke on me (and I play a lot of slap). These are really good value. The only drawback is that they have fewer windings and slightly higher tension than the more expensive ones I usually get, but they quickly relax and sound nice and bright with a clean rounded tone. I use these for gigs now and save the more expensive ones for the studio.
