Harley Benton Vintage Tremolo Reviews
Well built but a bit vanilla
Needed a cheap and cheerfull tremolo so picked up this HB version.
It's the usual harley benton quality as far as the build goes so no problems there.
Plugging it in and switching it on all worked as expected.
Dialling in some wobble i found it to be very subtle way up to 12 o'clock and then some. It's not that this pedal is bad or anything of that nature. It just doesn't give me the depth of tremolo i desire.
If you're after subtle tremolo then this is a nice little box at a strong price. If you want a pedal with a bit more modulation this will be a dissapointment.
It's all down to personal taste at the end of the day and i'm sure i'll find a use for the pedal at some point.
I use this for a bit of blues tremolo effect, a good low priced tremolo, nice and warm sounding has a bit of volume loss when switched on but nothing major. Build quality is good for the price.
good quality, cheap, good but not brilliant
This pedal is well built and totally reliable. Switch feels solid but a bit cheap - which is fair enough really. The time dial works well and its easy to get the tempo right, the intensity doesnt give you a lot of control till about 12 oclock. Sound is just a little bit disappointing - it works well to add some flavour to reverb, but on its own you get either very subtle or a bit harsh and nasty. I still like it, but if you were going for full on surf sounds you might wish youd spent a bit more.
Very good quality tremolo
I bought this tremolo ten days ago. In my signal chain it works very well, without colouring the sound. It is very transparent. Build quality is very good. I think this is the best bang-for-bucks tremolo on the market and I recommend buying it.
I was very surprised at how good this pedal sounds for such a small price tag. I needed a tremolo quickly for a piece I was playing at work. Originally I wanted to wait and get the Flint but decided to get this as it was so cheap. It's well built, sounds great and hasn't let me down. The flashing led is handy.
Great place to start for sound experimentation
Great price and solid build. great tremolo effect, although probably not the most versatile on the market, it will not let you down.
Excellent trem
This is a great little trem for the money, simple to use, rate and depth control only. There is a little boost in volume when engaged which compensates for the perceived volume drop you can get with a trem pedal. It's is more at the gentle end of tremolos, cannot be really choppy in a slicer type of way, more an amp type of trem as on a fender. All analog and true bypass also solidly made metal construction.
Recommended.
its simple it sounds nice led flashs in time with tremolo its very sturdy great price what more can i say do your self a favour and get one
Not a supatrem, but it's what the average trem pedal should be and it's really cheap. Good build.
Great vintage style tremolo
Don't worry about the name and how cheap it is. This is a really high quality pedal. Build is bullet proof and it's made to almost boutique levels of quality.
I absolutely love this pedal, mainly because of how subtle it is, no mental Tremolo variance here, pure atmospheric subtlety normally associated with Boutique style pedals.
Buy one now! :)
Very well built. It has metal chassis that can definitely take a beating.
There is no volume drop when you engage the pedal wich is awesome.
The only downside is that the effect could be more pronounced.
It is a nice pedal overall however considering the priceit is an awesome pedal.
9/10
Good affordable tremolo
I took a chance on this pedal and was pleasantly surprised. There is a nice sound to the tremolo with a wide variety on depth and rate available. The pedal is silent and very well built! Another great purchase to add to the pedalboard.
Worth every penny
Not the greatest tremolo ever, but it does the job very well. If you're looking for a nice tremolo with basic features, it's worth it! Nice price as well!
Great value for money tremolo pedal
For little over £20, there is not much to complain about with this Vintage Tremelo pedal from Harley Benton.
Firstly it is built well. Like most of their pedals it is housed in a strong metal casing, with tough plastic knobs. This one looks cool with a bright yellow appearance and a meaty dog on the front. My only problem with the build of the product is the power connector - sometimes power will cut out and I will have to rejiggle the connection - it feels loose inside the unit and is the same on my Vintage Phaser pedal.
It sounds pretty good. No complaints from me for the price, but I have heard better tremolos, and I have also heard worse.
The features the pedal offers are a bit minimal however. You can only alter the intensity of the effect, and the rate of the effect. There is no option to alter the waveform or style of the tremolo effect - however this may or may not be because the unit is based on a particular classic tremolo pedal which did not have these features.
All in all, for the price you pay, it's a good pedal to add to your collection!
Little tremolo sound
The tremolo doesn't really do what it's supposed to do. When you strum the guitar with the effect on, even with intensity all the way up, you hear a vague change. It isn't until the tone is slowly dying the tremolo really kicks in.
Also when I inserted the jack into the output something was blocking it inside the pedal. I had to use force to plug it in, but the pedal did work after that though.
A great pedal for the price.
I have been looking for a tremolo for a while and this one is great. It is very easy to use and has a wide range of sounds. I love the simplicity and that is quite similar to the boss one. It is built quite well it doesn't take up too much room on your board. Great pedal on a budget.
wonderful
great tremolo, simple but effective, true bypass, these harley benton pedals are wonderful, they are cheap but they sound good. Recommended
Harley Benton Vintage Tremolo
This is one of my favourite Harley Benton pedals. The tremolo imparts a deep, lush vibrato the intensity and rate of which are independently adjustable via two pots. A simple but effective pedal. Another great bargain from Harley Benton!
good for the price
The only issue I have with this pedal is that it adds a few db to your signal when you click it on, everything else is what you what from a standard tremolo pedal
Basic Tremolo
Bought this more out of curiosity than necessity. It's ok - but only ok! Used on it's own it works fine, but used in a full board it seems to get a bit lost in the mix and adjusting the intensity doesn't seem to have too great an effect. Fair to say I play with a lot of gain/distortion at times which will obviously have an effect.
Good solid construction, should last a long time. All in all a good pedal for the price, just don't expect it to replace anything at the higher end of the market.
