Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini 5-stars Reviews
A classic pedal, perfect for a mini board
Awesome pedal. It's really good to have a TS pedal in a small compact size. It sounds really good and I believe it also can be set to have more gain than a full size one.
Very good product.
Great little pedal
Classic tube screamer sounds in a small format. Sounds just as good as the bigger version to me. Only downfall is the tiny knobs for level & tone which you can't read from a distance but for this price I'm not complaining!
Its the Tube screamer
It works like a big one, it's much heavier than it looks like and really very well made. I love it.
tiny but powerful
This pedal combines really well with my deluxe reverb. The tiny knobs are not made to fiddle a lot with, but no complaints at this pricepoint.
Great imitation of the TS in a mini-pedal format
It's not exactly the sound of the larger TS circuits but it's close enough for a live gig! For some reason the "mini" versions of some pedals sound (to me) like they have less bass and sound thiner than the bigger models, but in this vase I remedied this by using before the TS mini my Xotic EP booster (a clean boost with a slight bass boost).
The mid-boost response can be annoying while playing alone, but during a gig I find that it's exactly what is required to boost the guitar without competing with the bass or keyboard.
I bought this pedal a while ago and would now hesitate between this one and the Wampler Tumnus, which is about the same format but seems slightly more versatile.
TS in a small package
As I use overdrives occasionally, I was looking for a small and portable version of the tube screamer. As for me, it sounds slightly different to the original TS. But I prefer the tone of this mini version. Since there is not much space left, the handlers for tone and level are a bit small. But if you do not tweak too much that is not a problem at all.
Pros:
- small size;
- light weight;
- great tone;
- great price.
Cons:
- handles for tone and level could be slightly bigger.
Great TS on a small case
Original TS sound and a very small metal case. Although there is no battery compartment, it is perfect for a small pedalboard. Simple controls allow for the adjustment of tone, gain and volume. All in all, a great alternative to the traditional TS.
Very very good
A very good overdrive with a big sound in a small package.
Can easily dial in a classic overdriven tone with this pedal.
Tiny \ Lovely
If board space is at a premium this works great. Same tones as its bigger brother and built like a tank. Made in Japan too!
Cons: nothing yet
(Edit) Found a con - on this range of Ibanez pedals, the small knobs do not have a visible marker to show where they are set. Need to figure out where they are set by rotating the knob to and fro.
Cant go wrong with this one
As a standalone overdrive it is best to have your valved amp cranked on the edge of breakup or else it will have this "parallel-like" sound with your dry signal underneath the overdriven sound. Superb for for stacking with other pedals. Very articulate, great note separation. For the price it's hard not to give this pedal 5 stars. Very raw sounding and instant "vintagizer".
Good!
Extremely small and very good sounding. I don't understand how is it possible that one small thing like this can weight so much, ahah
It's a good and affordable original real tubescreamer, what to ask more?
Mini TS!
I wanted a TS for ages and finally I decided to buy this one, mostly for space needs. I use it as a booster for a VOX AC, or right before a Mesa Boogie Throttle Box or before an Xotic AC Booster. It's good also paired with a compressor to give a little gain on the clean sounds. Super recommended!
What else can I add to this classic?
Nothing...is simply perfect.
Been avoiding this pedal since a long time ago and oh boy good I decided to get it.
Pros
Anywhere you turn the botton you get a great sound
Cons
None as it works for me
Enjoy get one if you want a good guitar tone.
The way to go
Don't think because it's small that this pedal doesn't pack a punch! the perfect overdrive/boost that you need for you lead playing. Certainly has a permanent spot on my pedal board. Really 10/10.
Great quality and great for pedal boards
This is a classic sound. And to be honest, there may be differences to the TS808 or others, but in many scenarios, you cannot even hear them (in blind tests most people would fail). If you are playing in a group and need a overdrive for your board, do yourself a favour and get this one.
Pros:
- Size (obviously)
- Quality (can last really long)
- Great sound
No cons!
mini TS
Same as regular but cheaper. Only thing that you cannot place the battery inside pedal.
power enhancer for strat
you cant make a glassy clear single coil strat pickup roaring, like you do with a humbucker. usually it ends up with a very thin and funny, buzzing noise. this pedal also does not make it roar but when i switch it on my strat begins to tell stories more louderwith eager. it sounds like a man speaking very loud with a gnarly throat voice, spitting out while talking, and telling dirty things done with a woman. if you switch it off your strat pretends like nice a guy again. no cons for me. i am giving the answer you are looking for right now. it is not different than ts 808 nor ts9. only difference no batteries allowed on board and small enough for your pedalboard.
Brilliant and Board Friendly
As the heading. Can't go wrong with it as a boost or drive. Fantastic.
Good ol tube screamer
if you had a TS-9, this sound kinda alot more bottom end to my ear. The build is tank-like obviously ITS PROFESSIONAL. No issue whatsoever...just worked...pushed amp to metal city and chug away.
another OD
I wouldn't compare it to original TS. In fact, which one is really original and the most recognisable? You may own this one If you really want't to save some space in your pedalboard. In that case it really works and It may be close to na original TS, unless you don't really care.
