Great sounding synth. Phat analogue Moog sound. Great for bass and lead sounds but it can also get versatile and very deep with all mod possibilities. This is my first Moog and I must say not only it looks nice, the construction is top and the knobs feel great. But most importantly it sounds amazing. Nice and thick low frequencies, but there's more than that. Capabilities are endless. And of course the moog filter needs no introduction. Just perfect, 4-steps and the overdrive. Duophonic mode is a big plus also. Preset buttons are very helpful, you can access any saved preset in no time. This synth is built like a tank, sounds really crazy, and is one of the most original and inspiring instruments I have used in recent memory. It rewards experimentation, creativity, and just turning knobs, and you will end up with some of the most other-worldly sounds you have ever heard. Because it is such an "organic" experience, as SOMA Labs puts it, it does have the drawback of not having patch memory or recall of any kind. I bought this synth with not much expectations, and I was surprised how great it sounds! And I do not mean just as an SH-101 clone. Behringer added 2 controls for the FM manipulation of the filter frequency, pushing the, already dirty, sound of the original to the extreme! The "reese" style baselines you can get out of this thing are extremely fat and gritty!!! The rest of the synth sounds like what you'd expect from an SH-101 clone. The filter is juicy and you can get expect to get all these beautiful resonances, that made the original popular. Another great feature is the sequencer, which provides more options and flexibility than the OG. There's also a velocity adjustable "accent" which offers another degree of expression. MX61 can be used - and can be evaluated - on two different levels: use as a ROMpler keyboard with which to cover the keyboard parts during live performance or as an extended controller / generator / audio-midi board for the project studio programming. In both cases, the most important parameter, the one from which you can not get rid of is the purchase price. MX is not the right tool to do tonal research and programming from scratch but if you are looking for an instrument equipped with (many) internal sounds, well differentiated, suitable to cover the traditional strings - brass - piano needs, that can be used in full Cubase integration (supplied at no cost), with Audio and MIDI management functions on USB (even just out), the thing takes shape and has a very specific sense.

With a few small changes you can go from a beautiful voice, to clear dissonance, to a noisy chaotic mess. Knobs are extremely sensitive, and carefully placed (no small buttons or switches/knobs) - built like a tank. This is not your standard synth, and might not be for everyone. I'd recommend researching before buying. Personally, this is exactly what I was looking for, and am completely overwhelmed by it. This is an absolutely unique and organic experience - and every time you play around it will sound different, guaranteed.

Forget about Markus Reich's Mellotron (he just bought the trademark, but forgot to put love in his product). The Memotron should deserve the original Mellotron trademark as stated by streetly electronics (the original Mellotron builders). The Fatar keyboard feels just right, the sounds collection is incredible and the device is easy to use. But the best part is that it HAS the real mellotron sounds! This unit has been designed by Klaus Hoffmann Hoock (RIP) and he KNEW how it had to sound. I paused before clicking 'confirm' as this is the most I have ever spent on a music instrument. I grew up desiring these fine instruments and wondered would I really truly notice a difference in the overall quality and standard? Well, yes I did. The Prophet 10 sits alongside some of my other synths such as a Jupter 4, Juno 106 and an OB6. It glues effortlessly between them. Downside? Well I start playing it and lose track of time when I have intentions to write or record new tracks. Some reviews criticise the mono output however I have had no concerns with this. In fact it sits well when an effects device like a Strymon Big Sky is added to widen the soundstage. Wow.

It's my first mono hardware synth and I love it. Every knob is on the panel, no menu diving here. The keyboard feels exceptionally good to play, I haven't played one that felt as good as these keys. The modulation system is a no brainer; press source button then your source - press destination button then your destination = Done! setting up modulations has never been easier and thats what we want. The unit is very well built and looks and feels amazing. It sounds like a Sequential hardware analog synth and not like anything else. Superb sounding Filters, the cream of the crop. The keys feel like the best I've ever played no joke. Sorry, I have nothing bad to say. I Love it.

This is my first synth so I wanted a lot of bases covered and some uniqueness to get a different sound than regular virtual analog synths. The prices on here compared to in the U.S. was a HUGE discount which made this synth a way better value. I figured I'd need a large keybed at some point and while most people get a midi controller like the novation, I figured getting the superior fatar keybed would be a much better experience for learning keys and not just sound design and I'm really happy with my choice. Having a lot of knobs and buttons to adjust parameters easily without menu diving is awesome. Then the little screen gives you adequate info and is easy to cycle through presets and patches. This synth is an absolute must-have. Got the Virus TI keyboard mainly for use in the studio. 16-Multi with Total Integration is exactly what I wanted. The synth itself is solidly built with good quality knobs, buttons and the keys feel great. In fact, it has one of the best keybeds I've ever played. But most importantly it sounds great. Very versatile, great for leads, plucks, bass and pads. It can do almost everything. It can sound soft, it can sound aggressive. All effects, especially the reverb sound awesome, as well as the filters. It has some great presets to get you started, but also sound designing is easy, especially with the Virus Control plugin (not quite sure without it).
