Compared with hard rosin (kolstein), in my opinion it seemed that the sound would be a little brighter. More suitable for orchestra. Weather conditions have a good effect on this product. In summer, it is more viscous and if you smear a lot, it is difficult to remove from the strings, in this case, hard rosin(kolstein) helps out.

Very good rosin for orquestral playing, been using it for years on and off, but always go back and buy a new cake. It is very sticky rosin so you will get a nice grip for low notes, and you will get a nice dark tone out of it. I dont considerer a very good rosin for solo playing, it is too much sticky to play close to the bridge, wich sometime makes the bow stop. Normaly after one year of playing this rosin gets dry, at least where I live , so every year I buy a new one. Should be use very little at a time, if you put too much your bow will stick to the string and stop. Another advice never leave in the car in hot weather it will melt down and turn in to goo.
