What you expect from Korg.

Bought this to control Ableton. Does exactly what needs to do. If you need more control go for a bigger unit, if you dont, you wont regret this porduct.

Great but aging

Plenty of pads, knobs and faders in small form factor. Works really well with Koala Sampler.

The native software isn’t fully functional with my MacBook Pro M2. Looks like you need older operating systems to fully customize the controller.

Still the best controller!

Not much to say, a lot has been said about this small controller. For the price and what comes with it, also considering that we are in 2023, and this thing has been a while on the market, it has no equal. For the price and what it can do,100 percent is the best thing you can buy in his range. Highly recommend!

It’s cool but….

I liked the size and the features. If you have a portable set up and need some extra controls then this thing should be great. My main two issues was the mini USB port. In 2022!?!?! If I lose my cable I’m in trouble. It shouldn’t be that hard to upside the product this way. We all have a ton of micro cables lying around.

The second issue is that it doesn’t play nice with setup and here I was hoping for a plug and play.

Short-lived product....

With daily use, faders cease to work correctly on average after six months... This is my seventh such device. But he has a very attractive price! ;)

No update for Mac’s M1

After a year and a half no update to M1 chips. It doesn’t work on Logic pro. Be aware!

Does it's job and does it well

Pretty straight forward product. Can't go wrong with this one, considering it's price. Faders and knobs have a good feeling, and are easy to control.

It's lightweight, easy and strong enough for the road.

The material feels a little cheap though, but that is to be expected.

9/10, would advice this controller for everybody.

Best Midi Controller

I bought this because I needed a midi controller to control my orchestral libraries(expression and dynamics)and it works great.

It has a bunch of different modes for different DAWs you choose them with a combination of the buttons.(the manual goes through this for almost every daw and if your daw is not on the list it has a "universal" mode)

In ableton the first three channels or the first two are pre mapped to the corresponding controls in the Korg Nano. To bypass this just map the controls that are already mapped to something else and then delete the new mapping you just made and they should be clean.

Pros:

The faders feel great

It has pause, stop, play, record buttons

Solo, mute ,rec for each channel separately so you don't even have to use your mouse when recording

Its used a lot by many djs/producers both live and in the studio

its built really well it feels solid

You can't beat the price!

Cons:

The only con that I can think of is the potentiometers feel a bit too easy to twist so be careful.

Overall a really good controller and all most of us are ever going to need. And with a great price!

What a Controller!

I have been using this mainly for automation of pans, synth modulation, and other specific envelopes on each track both for tracking and mixing! It is really useful to have it for faster/better flow when automating and I truly recommend it!

Works good

I am using this device with Ableton to trigger some parameters of the synths or other VSTs I use. And it does the job for me perfectly (I keep it on my keyboard). I don't really use it for, as it would look, it's original purpose to mix music because it's basically to small and doesn't have some proper functions as a normal big controller would have. But again, for it's price and if you're creative - you can really make this small device work.

no good

hardly any info on how to set it up, could not get anything working at all

Decent

Yeah, it's fine. I've had driver issues but when it's worked it's decent. Everything feels good and sturdy.

Oh, and maybe it's just me but I think it's way bigger than it appears in the picture.

I liked this product. One of the advantages is convenience. It can be put on the keyboard. The second thing I liked was the button illumination. For example, the "mute" or "solo" button. I can see when the “solo” or “mute” button is working

What can I say about the quality? Made of plastic, so I advise you not to drop it, otherwise it will break.

This midi controller is very good for its low price.

Nice controller for the price

Good starter controller (use this for film scoring) if you can't invest in more fluid faders.

Feels like a toy . may work for some.

I am completly rewriting this review to update my thoughts on this. I always blamed my newbieness (inexperience) for it now working quite right with Reaper and probably it's part of the problem (me). But Man! I just got the Behringer X-touch one and it was a breeze to set up and the Xtouch works incredibly well. If you can afford a bit more, go for the Xtouch. Sorry Korg! :/

for that price come on..

the little nanokontrol2 is impossible to criticize for its price. if someone dares doing that, shame on you.

though this little piece aint no real daw controller to mention its handling and tiny dimensions the little gear works! I mapped it for cubase 9.5 and I got all its functions right away.

just one thing about the driver. I use the windows driver (windows 7 64bit) which got installed automatically after connecting the device. the manufacturers driver doesnt work, even if its claimed to be for windows 7 and 8 including various versions.
