What you expect from Korg.

Bought this to control Ableton. Does exactly what needs to do. If you need more control go for a bigger unit, if you dont, you wont regret this porduct.

Still the best controller!

Not much to say, a lot has been said about this small controller. For the price and what comes with it, also considering that we are in 2023, and this thing has been a while on the market, it has no equal. For the price and what it can do,100 percent is the best thing you can buy in his range. Highly recommend!

Best Midi Controller

I bought this because I needed a midi controller to control my orchestral libraries(expression and dynamics)and it works great.

It has a bunch of different modes for different DAWs you choose them with a combination of the buttons.(the manual goes through this for almost every daw and if your daw is not on the list it has a "universal" mode)

In ableton the first three channels or the first two are pre mapped to the corresponding controls in the Korg Nano. To bypass this just map the controls that are already mapped to something else and then delete the new mapping you just made and they should be clean.

Pros:

The faders feel great

It has pause, stop, play, record buttons

Solo, mute ,rec for each channel separately so you don't even have to use your mouse when recording

Its used a lot by many djs/producers both live and in the studio

its built really well it feels solid

You can't beat the price!

Cons:

The only con that I can think of is the potentiometers feel a bit too easy to twist so be careful.

Overall a really good controller and all most of us are ever going to need. And with a great price!

What a Controller!

I have been using this mainly for automation of pans, synth modulation, and other specific envelopes on each track both for tracking and mixing! It is really useful to have it for faster/better flow when automating and I truly recommend it!

I liked this product. One of the advantages is convenience. It can be put on the keyboard. The second thing I liked was the button illumination. For example, the "mute" or "solo" button. I can see when the “solo” or “mute” button is working

What can I say about the quality? Made of plastic, so I advise you not to drop it, otherwise it will break.

This midi controller is very good for its low price.

for that price come on..

the little nanokontrol2 is impossible to criticize for its price. if someone dares doing that, shame on you.

though this little piece aint no real daw controller to mention its handling and tiny dimensions the little gear works! I mapped it for cubase 9.5 and I got all its functions right away.

just one thing about the driver. I use the windows driver (windows 7 64bit) which got installed automatically after connecting the device. the manufacturers driver doesnt work, even if its claimed to be for windows 7 and 8 including various versions.

good equipment for good price

Positives: good price, easy to use, well defined support

Negatives: can't tell

I think it's a good entering external tool to do any automation (volume or FX) jobs in a DAW programme. It has a factory preset by which it can be used in no time, that is pressing some buttons simultaneously provides immediate possibility of use the predefined factory functions.

On the other hand, it is also programmable by downloading the free software, thus the device can be taught for any function, and any fader, knob, etc. can be assigned to any parameter as user wishes. Using this SW a user can switch between the factory preset and his/her own preset.

Awesome little midi controler.

For its price it is full of capabilities and super programmable through korgs kontrol editor. I only wish that Ableton Live had a built-in mapping for it, like Reason has.

Fine little thing!

Korg never disappoints with the built quality. The controller is extremely portable and very intelligently designed. Easy to use and does the job very well, especially if you are on the move. Don't expect large-high-quality knobs or sliders as you might get disappointed, this product is supposed to be nano size and in my opinion, is a perfect tiny product.

Nice feel, and it works

I mostly use this as a remote transport when I'm recording myself. It took me a little while to figure out how to make it work in Cubase, but I think that's down to Cubase more than the device.

It feels compact and not flimsy, which is nice. The faders are short but they have a smooth action. The lights on the transport buttons are only momentary and they're not colour coded. This is my only complaint, and I realise it's probably a bit of an ask with the limits of MIDI - but it would be nice if the play or record buttons followed conventional colours and showed the current state (i.e. play button remaining lit and green during playback).

Great Controller

The thing with NANO controller is that you can configure it with anything you want, is versatile and handy, the only thing I would miss is some kind of rubber in the back of the surface that prevents the controller to move around while you use it, you have to use "alternative" methods like tape or any other just to make it be steady.

Cool device

This little thing can make more than you can imagine.

First of all, it's a very solid piece of equipment, Korg did a very good job with it. The knobs & faders are really solid and the buttons very soft to press. Also, it's size gives you the advantage to carry it with you ,if you are a DJ on the road or if you want to have a small mixer into your bag.

With the nanoKONTROL 2 , you can assign multiple parameters from your Digital Audio Workstation on different knobs, faders or buttons. I find it very useful ,as you can have total control of your DAW, such as various automations and controlling your channels volume.

Smart & useful gadget !

Exellent controls

My son uses three pieces as drawbars for Hammond B4 vst program, with two manuals. What can I say , just superb.
