KRK Rokit RP8 G4 Reviews
Great sound, great look. Highly recommended.
Great sound, great look. Highly recommended.
Bang for your buck!
Clear across the mids, crisp in the upper end, can fade in the lower end at high volumes but low to mid volumes give good response. For the price these are an absolute must have. Solid build, simple look great sound.
The only con I have is that the eq controls are difficult to access (at the back of the unit) an accompanying app controller would be good.
Great looking studio monitors with advanced features
KRak Rokit R8G4 are really great monitors with advanced features as led display with one knob adjustment with good presets.good near field studio monitors...can be use as reference speakers also .. very good sound quality with great yellow keveler woofer and tweeters look and high class material.its from bass port with cutting edge design with branding KRK Look is great beautiful yellow enhancing colour.
Great meeting dvpriced studio monitors.these are KRK latest generation atoms.its material and design are the main it's features.I think After Adum audio and Genelec it is a great device as a studio monitors with all necessary features with low bujet.
I recommend them if you can afford extra for quality you should add Adam audio Genelec EVE audio brand for your secondary main monitors for critical listening and mixing mastering
Great monitors overall...I highly recommend them
Nice monitors, for a cheap price
When I first received them they looked extremely large and I kept on wondering what they were capable to do. So i hooked it all up, and tested them, and sound wise, it sounds great for its price. The interface on the back of them, where you can EQ and control volume of each of them is also pretty neat. So overall I would recommend these as your first set of monitors.
Why havent you bought them yet? i love them
Can i say enough how much i love these speakers after owning them for 2 years? probably no.
I use them in 5mx3.5m acoustically treated home studio
Large 8" speaker goes really low and you can not only hear but feel the bass. They do not lose the balance when playing audio loudly, home parties will be taken to next level (joke, but if you wanted to, neighbours will enjoy music as well)
I did take away 1 star for sound, you can decide yourself, and that is something i was surprised at first but got used to very quickly - there is audible white noise when the speakers are powered ON (when speakers are in sleep mode, there is no noise)
I have listened on lowest volume, cant hear the white noise presence then but just so you know, it is there.
But when i reviewed these 2 years ago, i didn't find much comments about white noise.
But yes - quality, sound, balance is superb, and Digital DSP in combination with KRK app, makes it easy to set-up in any room with suggested settings.
Another decider for me was - front port for woofer, i can place it closer to rear wall than most rear ported speakers, meaning i can have these 8" speakers in smaller room and still be able to utilise them properly.
So a summary - if you are in doubt and cant decide to spend extra for 8" instead of 6 or smaller, get 8" - it's all in one package and you will not have an urge to later buy a subwoofer separately.
Another thing i learned from many many reviews prior purchasing these, you will get used to any good studio monitors and will be mixing with confidence.
So join KRK family.
P.S. i use these with Gravity SP 3202 studio monitor holders, amazing combo. Dont buy cheap Millenium ones, I've heard too many bad stories about quality. These KRKs deserve to stand on good stands.
Amazing Set of Studios
I used these on my workstation. And they are one of the best set of studio monitors I've tried. Sound Quality: Excellent, Looks: Excellent and Bang for Buck: Amazing. Best money spent in a long time.
Amazing
Speakers are absolute amazing! Must have!
Perfect!
1. The items in bundle - perfect!
2. 4’th gen of Rokit8 - ideal for mix music and listening in home. Using for home.
3. Packaging and delivery was fast and good! Will recommend this online shop for my friends.
Thnx.
Great sound
Very good value for money. Sound quality is great
As expected.
As I have a home studio for mixing and mastering, I found the monitors very helpful specially in the low frequency, I also have KRK Rokit 5 G4 which is also good but the Rokit 8 elevated my work flow 100%, don't forget to use their KRK app to adjust the sound for your room levels.
Good product, but ...
These are my first monitors. Before that there were only multimedia speakers. I play electric guitar and mix with electronic (synthwave, etc.) sound. For these purposes KRK were even very good. high sound detail - on fast passages you could hear every note, every sound. Also it became much better to respond to changes in the sound settings. Good panorama.
The disadvantage of which lowered the rating:
1. I had to exchange one monitor because the woofer bolts were twisted and crumpled the rim. This also prevented the front cover from closing before the end.
2. The hiss is quite strong. They are good to use more than a meter from the ear, perhaps ideally a meter and a half. I, on the other hand, sit close and the hissing is tiring.
Great monitors!
What can I say? I love KRK! Professional sound and very linear! Excatly what you need for a great mix!
A mixed bag and be careful what you are buying them for.
Firstly despite some of the hate out there these sound good. If you are looking for nice sounding speakers at this price you could do a lot worse.
Though I was shocked to find out excitedly plugging them in that the noise floor on these is shockingly high. What I mean is as soon as plugged them in they started to make a low volume but very audible white noise/hiss. I googled the issue, I looked in the manual, I prayed to my god and adjusted my audio interface and the speakers but even when you set the inbuilt volume control to -40 db at idle they produce a white noise.
Thus making these almost worse than useless for me, as I was looking for a pair of speakers that could sit on my desk about a meter away from my head. Yes I know these speakers would have been a bit big for that application but I wanted larger speakers for a better bass response at low volumes. The hiss is audible till about a 2 meters away.
On a brighter note they do sound great and the hissing is almost not audible when playing any noise trough them. if you wanted a quiet pair of speakers this is not it.
apart from that the screen is almost a complete gimmick, only 6 or so eq presets you can choose not an inbuilt user defineable eq what I thought the Screen might be useful for.
I am returning these because of the high noise. I used to use a pair of bookshelf speakers hooked up to a 1980's hifi amp and the noise was less than this set of monitors.
SO quick and short if you want to put these on your desk and sit closer than 2 meters or spend any amount of time not listening to something on your setup this is not a good set of speakers for that. But for the price you get a lot of sound that's high quality and distortion free. packing materials where excellent, speaker quality overall is excellent as well, was really impressed until I noticed the noise.
Smooth sound
Very nice Mid and Hi. It’s clear and smooth. But you will also need a sub to hear bass rumble. It is hard to feel it without sub.
Superb sound , superb service
Bought for my home studio set up , and I am not disappointed .. read loads of online reviews before purchase , and glad I went for these in the end
Just added the 12s subwoofer and it completes the sound perfectly
Much better, than older versions
The DSP processor has the same features as any other monitor.
incredible bass that doesn't hum at all. All the details are very easy to distinguish and even too pronounced. the high frequencies are quite bright. transients are perfectly audible
amazing
brilliant company to buy from, had a few issues with payment by card but it was sorted really quick and easy, delivery was quick too. 10/10 will buy again, thanks
very good overall
I wanted to upgrade my monitors to 8 inch KRK's hoping not to need a subbass.
Overall build quality is very good, digital screen for eq and settings are easy to use. They are big! So make sure you have enough room on your desk !
These monitors can go really high in volume but in high volumes the sound is very harsh due to very defined mids and hi frequencies.
In low volumes the bass response is adequate but if you crank them up it is better to use with a sub bass to compensate bass frequencies.
There is an audible hiss when the monitors are not in use but i think it can be reduced with hi quality cable connections and earthed power connection.
I am happy i got these and I would recommend it to djs for small house gigs, producers with mid size rooms. If you have a rather big studio room a sub bass would be a good addition.
The most bang for your buck
Near perfect studio monitors that have quite a lot of features.
Pros
- Can adjust EQ on some level
- Have standby mode, which is helpful, to say the least!
- Clean low, mid, and high frequencies.
- They are extremely powerful, I keep them -12 db from my AI software.
- A nice sleek design.
Cons
- They have that tweeter white-noise when powered on, can get annoying as they are near-field monitors but I heard of other studio monitors brands that are the same.
- Are a bit plasticky on the front side, feels cheaper than the gen 2 I previously owned.
The G4 is a blast
Before I buy these beasts, I went through 10’s of you tube videos to know whether they will be a good addition to my studio. I found allot of controversy, but I’ve decided to get them and decide for my self.
Once I started my sound test tracks I was astonished, I almost flipped on my back. I’ve tried them with different genres and the results were surprising, I’ve heard sounds I never knew about, although I had these tracks since a while and I’ve heard them hundreds of times, so my music production now will be more more enjoyable over using my 250 ohms headphones.
They have a built in pads so no need for additional pads, unless you need the pads for elevation or tilting.
The RP8 have a built in equalizer for High and low frequencies add five steps for both which was easy to use and see the most suitable for my room size and listening preferences.
One important issue to mention is that the RP8 is designed for a larger room, or fully isolated, sound proofed area.
They need to be in about 1-1.5 meters (If not more) away from you and separated by the same.
My conclusion: These beasts are definitely a major go.
