Lead Foot ABY 4-stars Reviews
Perfect
I Bought this to split two guitars into one amp. Does the job very well. It's well made and sturdy. The foot switches may be a bit too close together if you wear big boots on stage. But, for me it's perfect.
Great pedal
I love this little box.
Since it doesnt require a battery to work i can take it everywhere with me.
I love to use this pedal on my portable amplifier. I hook the pedal up to it and i can jam along with my friends anywhere i want.
Using the pedal can feel a littler bit clingy at first, but once you get used to it its a walk in the park. If you dont have a battery in it, the light doesnt work so you have to press buttons untill it works ;).
10/10 would buy again
Batteries
Works great as an ABY-switch, but it doesn't have a 9v input, so you need batteries. Also, it doesn't have an on/off switch, so that battery drains as long as something is plugged in to the input... So if you remember to unplug your cables, this unit works great.
Good product generally
Batter sloshes around inside, could do with some foam or clips
Not perfect but usable
Can get a bit noisy with high gain sounds and the pedal is a bit cramped making access to the switches a bit difficult, but overall the pedal does exactly what it promises and at a very reasonable price!
Works as expected
Inexpensive but works like a charm. Battery compartment and the access should work better.
Battery does nothing but lighting LEDs and it is a great way to get more value out of the batteries from your effects (or looper). Works like a charm!
Great value
Built like a tank and with a great presentation.
Very nice packaging and instructions printed on glossy paper altough not very helpful or detailed..
The unit is very sturdy, the only issue is the battery door and mechanissm.
The door is kind of hard to seat in place and has a bug screw bulging on the outside of the pedal, meanwhile the battery sits loosely on the inside.
You have to keep both jacks disconnected to prevent battery drain.
This pedal should have a standard barrel type 9v external connection
Great tool
The only thing I don’t like about it, is the battery lid...a bit too flaky.
Great for A B switching, not good for Y
I've got two of these, so I can switch between 3 guitars. For that purpose it works perfect. Don't use this to send your guitar through two amps at the same time, because there will be a volume decrease.
So consider this an AB pedal, because the Y isn't very useful.
It's a pity that you can only use a battery to power it, although you can solve that with a converting plug.
It is at the other hand ofcourse very cheap, so that balances the downsides.
Overall I do like this pedal for switching between different guitars, otherwise I wouldn't have bought a second one.
Great unit. A power switch would be good.
Love the way the box is constructed and definitely like how flexible in options is.
I don't love the fact a battery is needed for the LEDs. It would of been much better if there was an extra switch to turn the LEDs off to save battery power if you don't wanna disconnect your cable.
Overall good product
The switching works perfect, nice solid housing, very good value!
There are a few things that can be improved:
The battery cover is horrible to put back on. The screw on the side takes up space on the pedalboard.
The battery sits loose inside the housing, I hope this is not harmful for the pcb board inside the pedal.
When plugged in, the led stays on. So I have to unplug the unit to prevent the battery from draining when I am not using it. A power supply connection would have been nice.
Solid and reliable
I use this as a A/B box so I can switch between two basses. If that?s all your doing, you won?t even need the battery for leds. The markings on the box don?t really seem to make sense, so you tend to plug in two leads and tap away until it switches from A to B
Crudely practical
A simple and Brutalist box with applications limited only by one's imagination. Very solidly constructed, with the switches giving a resounding 'click'. Insertion of a battery is recommended to provide use of the LEDs, allowing one to keep track of its settings, aided by the helpful diagram on top. This is now my default ABY switcher for various projects and I will no doubt be purchasing more.
ABY Switch
Does what it says... this is a tiny pedalboard friendly ABY box. Works perfectly and is easy to use.
Only downside is the cosmetic design which looks cheap!! but this is it! Happy with this!
This is a very affordable and functional pedal. Allows you to choose bettewn/or two amps, usind the same guitar, or two guitar pluged in a unique amp.
The battery compartment could be improved, cause the metalic cover and screw coulb be lost easly. It's not so easy to handle it, when you need to change the battery.
On the bottom surface, could have a better protection.
They could provide a owner's manual, because it's confuse in the beginning learn how to use.
But, is a good and beautiful pedal. If you want get a Stereo mode sound, check it.
Nice simple and inexpensive A/B/Y box.
Well built and robust.
Would be perfect if it had a power supply input instead of having to use a battery.
Other than that is great for the money.
It makes what it claims to do
Overall it delivers what it promises.
It it very easy and simple to use.
To be better, in my opinion, it could be a little bit more wider so it would be more comfortable, but then it wouldn't be as portable...
Lead Foot ABY
ABY box by Lead Foot is pretty inexpensive but it works just as it should. If someone's out shopping for switch pedal Lead Foot ABY is a fitting choice.
I bought this Lead Foot ABY to switch between - and mix together - the left and the right channel on my 22500 Loper's stereo output.
To test channel interference, I used the A and B 1/4" jacks as inputs in which I sent a 0 dB (1 kHz) signal. I connected one of the parallel 1/4" jacks as output to a HI-Z input on an Audio Interface to measure signal strength. There was no change in the signal on the selected channel, but there was a crosstalk of -28dB from the non-selected channel. When A and B input were linked together, the sum of the signals was +6dB.
The buttons are fitted with just 4 cm distance between them which means that you need to be a bit accurate not to press the wrong button by misstake. The advantage is that you can easily press both buttons at the same time if you need to.
When both A and B are active at the same time, both LEDs are illuminated. Therefore - if you forgot the previous A/B setting, you can not determine which of the A and B jacks that becomes active when the Y-connection is disabled. (This could have been encoded with the use of multicolor LEDs.) The LEDs are small and sits deep in the panel and is therefore a little difficult to read in bright light and/or at a large viewing angle, but mostly this is no problem.
There was no problem to get the 9V battery in and out of the box. The LEDs are activated whenever a plug is inserted in one of the "parallel" in/out jacks.
The Lead Foot ABY switch pedal does what it is meant to do. Feels robust, and has a good price
like a tank
my shortlisting was between this one and fender ( the big red one) but since this one is 10 euro less, i thought ill try it since it has got good reviews.
Indeed, it was good for what it is for. the switches are silent in the audio system no audio popping. It is heavier than it looks like and built like a tank.
it would be really helpful to post or print a connection figures especially on how to make use of the other parallel output or input.
the battery compartment door is a bit awkward to screw it back in you need to get used to it but it is not an issue. overall it is a keeper and it has valuable function for two amps setup.
