Amazing for the price!

I haven't used my old microphone since I got this one! Right away I noticed a more clear natural quality from the sound, and it feels super solid and well built. Has a nice transparent but original touch to the sound, and I really love how the high frequencies sound. I use it in the studio mostly for vocals, and I'm impressed with the quality, especially for the price I don't think you can beat the 440! I chose this one over the 441 since i didn't wan't any of the polar patterns, keep it simple, but I do kind of wish I had the options now, just for the odd time to experiment with. It was my first time using a Lewitt mic though, and I just wanted to hear them for myself without spending too much. I'm a big fan, definitely going to buy one of their higher end ones eventually.

Great bang for the buck

I have been using it for recording vocals, blues harp, acoustic guitar and even a tube guitar amp and I am happy with the results - really faithful sound capture.

I give the sound 4 stars since there definitely are better mics out there, but they cost 4 times as much. I am doubtful that they are four times as good sound wise, though. We had a shootout with AKG C414 and my firend said he can spot a marginally better response in the highs but I could not tell the difference, honestly. This thing rocks.

Simply very good

I chose this over an Audio-Technica which had all manner of switches and modes, and I'm really impressed with this. Stick it in front of something and it records really well. Easy.

This really came into its own when recording a trap vocalist, capturing the depth and tonality of his vocals brilliantly.

Plus you get a wristband in the box - win!

Pristine Vocal Microphone as well as decent Mono-Acoustic Guitar Mic

I have been using it for own projects using both as vocal microphone as well as neck acoustic guitar miking. It is not just transparent in terms of sound quality, it also made the sound pristine and easy to work with in post.

best value for the money

i recently boughht the LCT 440 pure, i have been looking at others in the the same price range and i had also the chance to try other out such as the Aston Origin. but after reading and watching all the reviews my choice fell on the LCT 440 Pure. i highly recomend it for home studios and small studio. is a good all rounder and sounds really really nice. it shines on acoustic guitars, is very detailed and on vocals is just clear. best buy of the year!

The sound is pretty flat, except perhaps a slight high frequency boost, but not exagerated

Great mic

Maybe Lewitt is not that famous as a company name, but the mic is sounding good. The only con is that i had to put another pop filter infront of theirs (which you receive with the mic), but the quality is great (as a physical unit and as a sound). The both filters you get with it are a big plus and you can play with sounding warmer or crispier.

Absolutely brilliant microphone, especially in its price bracket. The quality of sound is comparable to a microphone ten times the price. There is a slight warmth to the sound, I use it in my home studio and I love it. Lewitt make great mics!

What can I say.... awesome

I own this mic for couple of months now and I can say that this mic is just amazing. I've used it on acoustic, guitar amp, even on bass amp speaker for one occasion...and it delivers. build quality without a match, sound impressive, you can throw almost everything to this mic and it will deliver. And of course reasonable price. I'm just sad that I didnt bought LTC 441 with all the features...

Very good mic

I haven't tried the mic a lot, but I like it so much, I bought a second one for stereo recordings (I know it's not an ideal solution because those two mics are not paired, but I can work with this for now). The mic is clean, with a good amount of presence, and at this price, is 100% worth. It also comes with an amazing shock mount, a magnetic metallic pop filter and a windscreen, so you are good to go, at any recording scenario. A big selling point on me was that this mic is not heavy at all, so I can mound two of them in one stand if I chose to (for drum overhead recordings for example).

It's only cardioid though, but the cardioid pattern is the one I use 90% of the time.

AB FAB

Absolutely brilliant, we put this up against the CAD Trion 8000 that's been re modded with new valves and this mic killed it, 100% recommendation. Used on a new international artist for vocals and acoustic guitar, clear and precise, great pop shield and basically plug and play.

Hugely Impressed.

I bought this mic based on fact finding and recommendations from various youtube users.

I was looking for an upgrade from my t-bone sc1100 and although the 200-300 euro choices have some good packages the LCT Pure stood out less about added value and more about quality.The less that came with it the happier i was as i had no need for a pop shield,hard case or even cable.

You get a carry pouch,mini plastic pop shield and cradle and a very well built mic.

Compared to the t-bone the difference in quality of build is obvious,the LCT440 feels like a decent mic.Compared to the t-bone and sound i found the LCT440 to be smoother at the high end and requiring alot less corrective eq in general.

On my voice (baritone) it just kills.On acoustic it kills again.On electric guitar near and far it kills.

Trying to find things i don't like is hard as the LCT440 is a dynamite performer on everything i've put in front of it so far.The leap in quality of recorded sound has made a big impression upon me and i'm over the moon i made the choice of Lewitt.

Picking a mic when you don't have a large budget is really tough so getting it right the first time is paramount.

If you're upgrading from a cheap capacitor then i can't recommend the Lewitt highly enough.For me it's been a tangible step up in quality and it's built to last a good while.Once and if my budget allows i'll go for another Lewitt without hesitation.They have a strong reputation for good reason.

New benchmark

LCT 440 pure is a beautiful modern designed large diagram condenser microphone with impressive electronic circuit and wonderful sounding 1 inch capsule, which can also be found in Lewitt hi-end range of microphones.

The microphone features impressive specs with self noise of 7dB (A) and a sensitivity of 27.4mV/Pa which means it will not introduce any noise in the signal chain and you'll need less preamp gain. It is therefor suitable for recording quiet sources such as Foley.

On the other end, it can handle the SPL of 140 dB, so you can throw it in front of the loud guitar amp or drums without worrying it will distort.

Frequency response is very smooth, with little emphasis on the upper region, which generally help the sources cut through the mix.

The most impressive thing about this microphone is the sound it captures. It is very detailed and refined, with clear reproduction of sound source(s). It's neutral and true to the source, without coloration, but tuned to give a slight boost in high frequencies. It has nothing in similar with the nasty/piercing sound of the overly bright cheep condenser microphones.

I would highly recommend using this microphone for recording Speech, Vocals, Acoustic Instruments, Sound Effects and Foley.
