first impression - very good to amazing

I came across this while shopping for a 5-string and the price was too good to pass up. It showed up today and 'Wow, wow, wow!" is my reaction. My only knock on this bass, and the reason for losing a star for quality, is the stacked, concentric knobs have poor tolerances and often are unable to turn independently. This is a known problem for Marcus Miller and one they should have resolved long before Gen 2 released. On the upside, the tonal quality and range is incredible, the pre amp is outstanding, I love the precision split pickup. The factory setup is by far the best I have seen right out of the box and was really good. I spent a bit of time customizing the setup for my playing style and this bass went from very good to amazing.

So.Damn.Good.

The bass was bought as a second instrument, but has quickly got to be the first. Ready-to-play condition right from the box - tuning, scale, thrust-rod, action - everything`s fine. Very good quality, good-looking, sounds awesome. I can hardly name another P-base in this price category to be as good as this one, I really did not expect this level of satisfaction. Hot deal, highly recommend.
