Marshall DSL20HR 4-stars Reviews
Great Practice amp
PROS:
- the clean sounds sounds very marshally, very nice
- the back features all you need, different ohm speaker outputs, f/s, effects loop
- footswitch is nice
- eq knobs are ok
CONS:
- the high gain channel lacks the punch
- no individuial channel eqs
Good enough for its price
This is an amplifier that offers good sound for its money. The quality of construction is quite good.
The classic gain channel stays clean even when you turn it to 10. Its sound is more like a plexi than a jcm 800. The modern gain channel offers enough distortion to cover even more modern metal tones.
It has a loud sound and can stand in rehearsal with drums etc.
I think for someone who wants Marshall sound and has this budget it is a very good choice.
Hello,
First of all I would like to mention that I like metal music. This amp doesn't fit to this style. But I haven't been looking for high gaine amp, because I've already got my Engl. So why did I choose this amp? The rison in it's lead channel that sounds great in the mix.
Pros: 1) Awasome clean channel, 2) AUX in, 3) Marshall distinctive lead sound for solo, 4) Good price for completely tube amp, 5) reverb, 6) Marshall design, 7) 10W mode
Cons: 1) It doesn't have modern high gain, 2) it's very loud even in 10W mode
I think DSL20 fits great for Blues and Rock with AC/DC style riffs. And of course it's depends on guitar pickups in your guitar.
I like the sound of this amp with more mids (at 3 o`clock) and less treble (at 9 o`clock) and tone shift swiched ON. With this settings it sounds more metal for me.
Thanx for reading. Be safe and stay in tune!
