Meinl CRING Ching Ring Reviews
LOUD AND CHUNKY!
This gives your hi hats that extra “Chunk” and it’s VERY LOUD!
very good for the price . good quality . good sound
It goes ching
It will give your recordings a special twist, but your neighbours won't like it.
Does what it is supposed to
If you want a bit of variety and/or jingle feel to your cymbals or drums then this is great.
I love how you can use it to dampen cymbals, lengthen the sustain and spread of cymbals or even to enhance your snares spread further.
Get one
These are great. So easy to quickly throw on your hats, ride, or even use for recording more interesting perc parts than just a regular tambourine. Also worth trying putting it inside your hats, sitting on top of the bottom hat.
Never leaves my hi hat.
Modest add on
Looks good, built strong, doesn't cost too much and isn't in any way dramatic sounding.
It also really feels like it's build sturdy.
Since this is not meant to be hit on directly, it promises a long life span.
It's meant for cymbals and hi-hat hats. The cymbals are sizzling subtle at the end, and the tambourine effect is evenly subtle with normal hihat playing.
This also dampens the cymbal decay. Which opens up other possibilities. Like suddenly being able to play a China crash like a loud trash ride.
That's what makes this more versatile than the little chains, that just do the sizzling part, however those can be used on the snare are well and this... not really.
The effects from this thing will be enhanced with dedicated mixing, but I think it's true purpose is less effective for live play but more for recordings.
It will also be beter audible with softer sticks, like hot rods.
Can't go wrong for the money.
But if you're like me, who tries avoid unnecessary wear of the cymbal lettering, you'll notice you'll only put this on cymbals big enough for it not to have that issue.
Because this will scrape the letters on your cymbals right off with frequent use.
For people like me, that means I can't use it on any cymbal I want.
Add that ching to your hi-hat
I was quite bored of my hi-hat flat sound so I've tried adding this ching on top and now I like the result. It's easy to put aside when you need your pure hi-hat sound, but let me say that if you have good control over your foot you can go fo always on.
Cheap part for fun
Good quality ching ring... adds little bit more character to your hihat cymbals especially if you use dark cymbals! cheap, well built, easy to use and remove! 5 stars...
Neat addition to any hihat
It's not as over barring as a tambourine yet still makes a difference in sound it you want that sizzle in your closed or open hihat.
Good ching
Cosmetically looks a bit of on my polished hi-hat pair but does the job well. Clear ching cutting through and augmenting the hi hat in heavy riffs.
Great simplicity
I love how something so simple can add so much more color to your cymbal sound.
Love it
Great on cymbals, on Hihat it makes it kills the sound too much for me.
Meinl Ching Ring
A very modular ring which can be used on a variety of cymbals and sometimes I also use it on my snare too. The jingles have a very crisp and clear sound to them and the build quality is robust and not flimsy.
A good little drum gadget
As a drummer you can use these in prettifying much any was. In the hi-hat to get some tambourine effect or in the snare drum for a tambourine backbeat to say a couple.
It is nicely build so it won't damage your cymbals if you place it in the top.
I wouldn't recommend it as a hand tambourine thought.
Ching
Great addition to a set of hihats. Lots of ching,
chingy
Extra flavors on the kit/cymbals for next to nothing, well built and versatile in it's uses, you can get a good variety of sounds out of it depending on the playing surface.
Very good additional effect for your Hi-hat
I use this ching ring as a additional effect to my existing Hi-hat. Very good production quality. Very good sound. Nice characteristic Tambourine pitch. Fits perfectly to all Hi-hats. Instant installation by one move. Very durable. Worth money spent.
Love it! Great for extra voices on the drum set.
I love this. Really reasonable price and great sound.
I always make sure this is kept near my drum kit when I need a different vibe or character to a drum beat. One of the best things is that it doesn't make much noise when you put it/take it off so it is functional to use for just a verse or a chorus with no fuss.
Love it!
Nice sound. Good quality
Meinl will not let us down. The best ching ring out theereee!
