It's the best cost-effectiveness

The build quality is high and the function is faithful.

Useful

Very handy and portable, the only downside is to use some slots, especially the first one. But it might as well just be me that struggled unnecessarily.

I've owned many different 500 series racks including the API one and I gotta say for a fraction of the price don't even bother with the other ones. Midas killed it with this! Works flawlessly with no noise issues! 10/10

Great power!

I use this unit with some power hungry units like the IGS Audio One LA 500, I bought the IGS used from a guy who had a more expensive 500-rack. However while his could not give it the power needed, The Midas could.

Just one thing hat I can’t understand is that the package contains no key.

Come on guys! You sell a frame for six units with no key? Really?

An advise for Midas marketing guys: Just put a key in the box and add one € more ;)

Budget 500 series

Great entry level 500 series rack. No issues with instalment. The qulity of the build is very good. The power supply is quite, no hum or hiss. The switching on back panel allows for your own custom signal chain with the use of just two cables. Aux in and out allows you to connect other gear in your rack. I have to say if your on a budget this is perfect.

Amazing quality and value

I was suspicious of the low price but wasn't disappointed. The build quality is just as good as API lunchboxes. Feels just as solid. I had no problems fitting my Neve 1073lb and 2 SSL 6 channels into it. Everything lines up perfectly. Couldn't bring myself to pay for more expensive alternatives again. Only wish it came with spare blank plates.

Don't be anxious about having a review about noise in the power supply

Since it is an SMPS-type power supply product, there is no problem if the preamplifier is installed far from the power supply. Despite the late delivery, the delivery was suddenly made at high speed due to Toman's quick response.

I didn’t expect a super perfect from such a price, but it could have been better, unfortunately it makes noise especially with preamps, if it’s not critical I can say that you can try it first.

hit or mix product

When these work they are great! Unfortunately sometimes the units are useless. Thankfully the customer service was top notch and the issue was taken care of!

No problem at all.

I heard some people got noise issue with this chassis. I was worry too. However I am very happy with this chassis now. No noise, good power, solid built. I guess the noise issue only happens when using with preamps , which I don't have so I do know if it is true. I also heard people using preamps with this without any problem as well so I have no idea. For this price it is an excellent chassis. I guess the noise problem has been fixed or only anomalies.

Unbeatable for the budget oriented or beginner!

After decades of recording, I decided to get into the 500 world. Not knowing I would be crazy about the format in general, I looked and looked and 500 frames vary wildly in price (200€ to 2000€) - that's just crazy.

Frustrated after weeks of looking, pondering, I bought this unit thinking "well, at least if I do not like the format I won't lose a ton of money" I expected a piece of junk.

What I received was a very robust and attractive unit. I continue to be impressed with the quality of the unit and have not had an issue with it yet.

I have read other reviews of this unit and I know not everyone will have the same experience. This product is definitely "imported" - so consider that when purchasing. It was created to make a buck at a specific price point - and I look at it as a bit of a gamble. But the good thing is that if it doesn't work, you can send it back!

Though I must say I am please by it's quality and when I tun it on, I leave it on for hours and hours (sometimes overnight) and I have not had a moment's thought or worry of it's performance. I am using various modules from SSL, Elysia, and Warm. So I have placed a decent amount of trust into it at this point.

Pros:

* Super beefy and solid feeling

* After almost 1 year of regular use, it still running strong

* nice channel jumping/bus features

Cons:

* none to speak of, it's an import product at a super low price - expect to get what you pay for, but be pleasantly surprised at the overall quality!

Great Unit

Bought this as I was building some 500 series cards and I needed a chasis for them. Found it just at the right time. This is a great chasis and I have had absolutely no problems with it at all. The rack mount wings supplied with it are also part of the reason I got this, and it racks up perfectly. They could supply some more screw for securing in the cards, they are quite small and can get lost easily. Overall great unit, would definately recommend this to anyone.
