Best D.I. for its money!

The good:

Robust design, sound is more than fine and you can use it in reverse to reamp a guitar or bass amp.

Although its best to use a designated reamping box.

The bad:

Not much, the only reason i did not give it a 5 star is that the rubber feet can get lost too easily.

That said, i would buy again!

Good product for money

I use 2 of those DI's in live and studio applications and are irreplacable piece of equipment for changing line level to Xlr level and also for avoiding hums or buzzes in signal.

Pros:

- This DI is really cheap (one of the cheapest on the market), but has never failed me.

- I love the functionality: I can split signal and record for example guitar in 3 different ways at once. Direct signal from guitar, splitted signal through Boss equalizer or multi-effect proccessor and recorded sound from microphone.

- Ground lift function can help in situations when there are problems with hum or buzz in the signal.

- They are really small and take almost no space on the stage, in studio or in case.

Cons:

- It is of the lowest price range so you can't expect too much. But however it has never failed me.

Nice Passive DI

Really well working passive DI (so no power supply or phantom power needed), work well when used with active equipment in front of it (I used it with the signal from my iPod which I use a an effects unit with JamUP). I also tried splitting the sound of my passive Ukulele pickup this works but has a negative effect on the sound quality.

Better than i thought

Ok, it's not that clear but hey. Look at its price. Nice and stable construction, handy and let's you choose if ground lifted or not and instument or line input impendance switchable. Just fine. Time will show if it lasts

A great choice

I have used several other DI Boxes so far, but this one is the first DI Box that I personally own.

You may think that for such a price you can't expect anything special, but you would be surprised.

Of course, this is not one of the best DI boxes in the world, but surely is one of the most cost-effective.

I play in the Alternative Rock / Industrial band, and we play with a lot of background music loops, so we use Millenium DI-E for live concerts to send our loops out to the mixing console.

There are some situations where happens to appear some humming noise but fortunately there is a Ground Lift Switch. Use that switch and the noise is gone - it really works !!! :)

The sound that comes from it it's pretty clean, but Millenium DI-E maybe cuts a little bit some of the frequencies from the overall sound, but you can add those at the mixing console afterwards, so at the end the sound is very good.

This DI Box is surprisingly strong and resistant, I believe you can drive a car over it and nothing will happen to it. It seems to me that it could last for a long time, and its price is ridiculously low.

Cheap and does it´s job

I was surprised on how good this is for the price. Nice if you wanna try these out and don´t wanna spend a lot of money until you know what you want/need with these.

Passive DI (no batteries).

I got tired of paying big money for short lived 9 volt batteries. This is my answer to the problem.

OK, we lose 1/8th turn on the gain knob at the mixing desk compared to an active (battery) DI, but we gain a very clean sound & way more power handling before distortion starts.

Now I carry no batteries, so when others in the band come asking for them, I can say no.

Very handy reliable tool to keep around. This is great value for money. This very robust unit can be thrown into a gear bag and be kicked around stage and still be fully operational. I bought this product five years ago. I have done many gigs with this using it to hook up basses and synths to the PA system.

The sound quality is very good.

I did not expect the unit to last very long at all but it has really proven itself over the past five years and has never given me any problems. I would recommend this product to anyone on a tight budget and for gigging musicians.

Nice inexpesive D.I. Box

This D.I. Box does exactly what is advertised. The ground lift doesn't cancel out all ground hum in some cases but for the price they are well worth having a few in the kit bag.

Does the job

Great value for the price. It's sturdy and well built. No fancy features but it does what it's expected to do and doesn't add any noise to the circuit. Recommended.

Decent DI box with small form factor

I am yet to run into any problems with this di. It is cheap as hell, which means i dont mind throwing it around. It does what it's supposed too, balances the signal, and manages to star super small.

I carry two of these around with me at all times as you never know when you will need another DI. I used to carry two much larger di's, but these allow me to carry more mics which is great.

Only thing that you miss out on from the small form factor is that you cant run them battery powered, but this is a feature i never use on my larger ones as every desk has phantom these days.

To sum up: Killer little di's for cheap.

Function on a budget

Really great price for a modest DI box. I have used it to pretty good effect in reverse to reamp DI'd guitar signals. It won't beat some of the more expensive DIs or reamp boxes but at this price it is useful to have a couple of these lying around.

Bargain DI

I bought this as a spare/backup DI for when certain band members forget to bring theirs! So far, so good and no problems. The unit is very robust and so it is great on-stage and a steal at the price.

Decent job for the money

Obviously the best thing about this unit is the price, coming in at under 10 euros. I've been using it on keyboard gigs and it's generally reliable. There have been a few occasions where hum has been present though (not cable related). If you just need something to get the job done then this is for you.

An honest no nonsence DI box

I purchased my first DI-E just over 2 years ago to enable me to run a semi acoustic guitar back through a 30m snake to our mixing desk to eliminate ground hum, it did the job, with little or no drop in signal quality. there is also no messing with batteries or phantom power, just plug and play. I have since purchased 10 of these units. Not one of them have let me down.

I also use two DI-E's to eliminate mains hum and hard disk noise in the studio, again with n problems

A great little unit and at this price for live work you can not go wrong.

Compact, works fine

I really appreciate that this DI-box does not need a power supply. Also, being a compact and solidly built box, it's also easy to stack a couple of these into a small space. So you don't need that long cables either.

In terms of sound and noise, it seems to do its job fine - haven't tested that much. Price is definitely right.

Unbeatable for the price

I originally purchased this unit as backup for another DI box but as our on stage sound grew this DI box was called into action on a regular basis and never let us down.

The DI box is passive so does not require phantom power (+48V)

The box has a ground lift switch which is invaluable when trying to eliminate 'ground loops' which can occur when you have different pieces of equipment connected to different mains circuits.

The build quality is solid and my unit has taken several years of gigging now and has not suffered any problems with either operation or damage to the metalwork.

For the money nothing comes close (well there are some alternatives from another manufacturer but they are nowhere near as reliable) so I would not hesitate to recommend this model for anyone looking for a backup DI box, or a DI box on a tight budget.

Affordable passive DI that punches above its price level!

I bought this DI box as my first DI, my only experience with DI boxes being with some very bad sounding active DIs by Behringer and others. I'm using it with my acoustic guitar with onboard electronics (UST plus endpin preamp) and I prefer the sound of a passive DI box because it tames the harsh transients the piezo element produces. I tried replacing it with several other passive DI boxes costing up to about six times the price and I didn't notice an actual difference in sound quality, at least not for on stage use, in the studio I can't really say, I record using microphones. If you need a passive DI box for little money look no further! The only reason I can think of to look at something else is if you are a bass player as it lacks some punch in the bass frequencies.

can not fault

this little unit does exactly what its supposed to do and does it well, gain is maybe a little low so i wouldnt recommend for studio use hawever this is fantastic in a live environment!
