Good quality replacement

This kick drum pad replaced my very old Roland TD3 rubber pad, which was worn out. The quality is great and the pad is bigger than expected, which is a bonus. One issue is that the centre of the pad is higher so the balance of my kick pedal beaters needed some realignment. All sorted though. Very pleased.

Excellent budget pad for bass drum.

Excellent budget pad for bass drum. I use a heavy and powerful Tama Iron cobra pedal for playing and even with it it is relatively silent. But unfortunately the pad moves with my playing when I have to play fast and powerful. I recommend it to those who do not have the opportunity to buy a more expensive pad.

Silent

Purchased to replace Roland kick pad kd9. Compared to Roland it is less noisy. No compatibility problems found with module td11k

Value for the price

I've bought it as an upgrade for Alesis Nitro Mesh, so I could use it with a double-pedal setup.

In general, it works great and as long as you use plastic/rubber beater - it looks and works better than the one from Alesis. A year later - only minor evidence of wear and tear.

Good, silent, not compatible with Alesis Turbo mesh at all

I thought it was compatible with my Alesis Turbo Mesh, but the trigger control unit does not recognize the pad. By replacing the entrance with the floor tom it works. Using with the Mac and ESX24 sampler and assign a kick wave to the floor tom midi signal is perfect.

I confirm the problem of the sensor too low in relation to the skin. Instead of putting extra foam rubber I preferred to raise the sensor by replacing the 4 mounting screws of 16mm with others of 30mm. To raise it I used rubber blocks, and by lifting it 8mm it adheres perfectly to the skin.

Now there is only the problem that the floor tom with the cable dedicated to the previous kick has a low sensitivity, and it would be necessary to change the control unit. The pad with the pedal is real, quite unlike the original Alesis pad. The hi-hat pedal should also be changed...

Amazing

I'm more than happy with this kick pad, its quiet, it picks up double bass beautifully, you can change the head if it breaks, I have an alesis nitro mesh and it's kick pad was too small and too loud, the difference between the two kick Pads is day and night

100% recommend

great mesh head kick pad

I play electronic drums and have mesh heads for snare and toms. Until trying this mesh head kick pad I always played using normal 'rubber' kick pads. I wanted to try a mesh head kick pad and this pad is the best way to go since it's price is very attractive. I'm really not sure that a Roland mesh head kick pad will give you anything extra. This kick pad is really well built and works perfectly out of the box. Response is great, triggering is without any faults. Bounce from it is very nice, you kind of get the feel of a real kick drum. There is a big difference when compared to the 'rubber' kick pads. I recommend using a beater with a soft head since felt or plastic\rubber can damage the mesh. I use two of these kick pads each with a single pedal. I absolutely recommend this pad if you want to get the taste of a mesh head kick pad for an excellent price.

I prefer acoustic drums, but I bought it for Roland TD-1DMK, which I use for practising at home. This make the set quieter and bring much more feeling for the foot pedal. Work well with felt beater. Recomend.

For the price, you can't do better.

I used this pedal to upgrade my Roland TD-1KV kit.

I didn't want to spend so much money on the Roland kick drum (half the price of the original kit itself), but wanted to have a proper bass pedal feel to my kit and so gave this a try.

For the price, you really can't do better.

The bounce back off the skin is so much more like a real drum skin and so I can now play much faster and am able to add both a funk/ swing feel to my playing as well as a heavier feel to metal etc.

I didn't want to review it until I had worn it in, so waited, and having beaten it to death for the last few weeks, it really does have good build quality for the price.

The acoustic sound is quiet, (not that I care at all about that, but some might), but the thing that I was most shocked by was how sturdy it is. It does not rock at all, or move across the floor.

It has adjustable spikes to keep it in place, but also has velcro that sticks it to the carpet. Be careful if you have expensive carpet, because this sticks like glue to carpets. You really have to pull to pick it up again. It will NOT move if you don't want it to, which has always been a problem for me while playing hard and the drums moving across the floor, so this is very good for me.

Response is also very good. It picks up very fast playing and is able to distinguish between hard and soft beats.

I would recommend this to anyone.

Top quality for the price.

Used on a home kit, it was a replacement for an old kick pad. Wanted a mesh head and wanted something within a cheap budget. This fitted both.

Was pleasantly surprised with it. The action off it is good, it has a nice bounce, and doesn't feel like you're slapping a piece of plastic as you would with other cheap kick pads.

Would like it to be slightly more solid to the ground, and would certainly recommend playing it on a carpeted surface as it can easily double trigger on a wooden floor.
