Experience of MPS-300 use

I bought this pad mainly for fun - just wanted to add one more "cymbal" to my old Roland e-kit. Befor that, I used a spare rubber pad from the same kit as an extra cymbal.

Pros: the pad and the stand are really nicely made from the mechanical point of view. They are sturdy and robust.

Cons: well, may be not the cons, but "features".

1. The cymbal does not swing at all (compared to Roland cympals from my set). So, there is no difference between hitting this pad and a usual pad that emulates a tom drum on my kit. But still, I could spend more money and buy a swinging model. Nobody to blame here. Maybe, later I will customize it to make it swing.

2. It is loud like hell. Still have no solution for this issue.

Very stiff

Just wanted a cheap mono add on, like most people. The build quality is good, and for the price its amazing it comes with a mount and a cable BUT the cymbal is incredible stiff. its not a rubber cymbal, its a hard plastic cymbal with a thin sheet of rubber on top, so it feels like hitting a wooden desk, this also makes it quite loud. Playing the bow, maybe a second hi hat or ride situation would be better, but trying to "crash" it on the edge, feels very unnatural

As others have stated, makes for a cheap little effects cymbal

Using it as a splash cymbal which in terms of scale fits better with an e kit.

Rubber is a bit thin on the playing surface which makes for a relatively noisy impact.

Triggers well but the anti spin device it employs has split within a week, so I need to get a replacement or carry out a mod.

Average pad

I use acoustic cymbals on my electronic drum kit but I wanted at least one e-cymbal to use all the sounds that my module provides.

So I bought this cheap pad and it does the job. The dynamic is good. The sound quality is ok.

I like the shape of it too, it does not take a lot of space. Perfect if you want to add an extra sound to your drum kit.

Good value for money

I bought this cymbal as an addition to a budget DDRUM beta kit to be used as a hi-hat.

The cymbal is sturdy and the thick rubber provides a pad-like rebound. Also arm and cable are good quality.

With the DDRUM brain you need to hit hard in order to get good response and dynamics.

I would hope for a larger sensitive area but at this price range it's a good buy.
