Not Great

This would be fine for recording if its not being moved around to much. It didnt last long for me because Its was being mover around from show to show and couldnt stand the abuse of every day gigging. so if you are on the road or a professional player spend a few more bucks and get a better stand.

Wouldn't recommend.

I've hurt myself using this thing several times because it's so clunky and unreliable. The screw threads ran out after a while, meaning it doesn't hold the pole tight enough to support it's own weight when holding a mic up. It's poorly built. I wouldn't recommend it.

Probably the Best in this Price Range

I had seen our soundman using these and he never uses anything that is not reliable. He gigs with several bands and does film work too so my guess is that the stuff he uses has to be good. I know him well so I quizzed him about why he bought Millenium mic stands. He said he would have to spend more money on stands, that were probably only just as useful and reliable. He's been doing sound for over thirty years (and he is good) so I listen when he has something to say.

I bought one on the strength of the recommendation of our soundman and decided that one wasn't enough - this purchase was a repeat purchase.

My microphone stands are mainly for recording, but sometimes I do live sound so I need reliability; I have bought rubbish in the past and it's a disappointment and costs more in the long run and my first Millenium stand has never let me down and has been used many times.

If I needed a third short stand, I would definitely buy another of these. I have looked around and I haven't found anything in this price range which deserves a risk, now I am happy with this product.

Very handly, stable and good made. What else for this price? Simply great, like all millennium products.

As reliable as a politician!

Don't get me wrong, I am usually quite satisfied with millenium stands. However this short stuff version is also painfully short on quality and stability. It is rubbish to be honest. Every single joint and component is troublesome. I would never purchase this particular product again.

Very good value for the price.

Bought it for kick drum and guitar amps miking in studio. Used many other brands stands from cheap to expensive over the years, and i can say it's really good value for the money. Not as sturdy as K&M stuff, but actually quite close. Never had problems with it, and i use one for 2 years. If you are searching for good stand and you are on the budget, it would be a very wise choice.

Amazing for the price !

I purchased this to mic up my orange amp and it's great. It's really ,strong, sturdy ,and robust, I've had many mic stand before and a friend reccomended this one. I would buy it again .

Average

I use it at home for recording and practicing. Overall quality is not that bad for the price you pay but clearly it lacks of stability especially if the microphone you use is quiet heavy (some condenser microphones for instance). I would not rely too much on it and will clearly replace it for something more sturdy in the future.

Very good and inexpensive mic stand

USE:

This stand can be used for different sittuations such as drums, home studio vocals, instruments, etc. It has a solid and robust built quality and you can use it for live or studio works.

SUMMARY:

I bought this stand to support my Rode NT2-A, a heavy mic, so it can have a strong base without loosing more space in my home studio room. It has a very sturdy build that helps to keep the microphone in place when recording or moving the mic placement. Millenium brand make incredible quality items at less than half the price in most cases. Very useful to use it sitted down, for tracking acoustic guitar or speech.

PROS:

1- Solid telescopic boom.

2- Very solid and robust.

3- Inexpensive mic stand.

4- Can be used to support mics recording drums, vocals, guitars, amos, etc.

5- Strong inclination lock mechanism.

6- Very stable.

7- Small and adjustable to carry in the car.

CONCLUSION:

The lock system of the pole is very effectiveand the stand are very stable. It is a small and well designed mic stand and it really does the job.

my mic stand

I have bought this stand two months ago for my SM 57 mic.

It was very cheap but its price reveals it's quality.

It's built with low quality materials and if you need to change its form or position few times a day it will fail most likely.

that is a stand for amps or instruments so you can t use it for vocals because it s too small, don t try!!! :)). anyway if you think that you won t need to change its form and position very often it will do the job for you, and it s not expensive at all.

Have stood up well to use overall

I bought 3 of these a few years ago and if it hadn't have been for people not knowing how to adjust mic stands - I would still have 3 fulling working stands (Yes, there are simple to use, but amazingly there really are people who do not understand the principle).

I am happy to say that they are still in use and sometimes double up as lighting poles too. But as mic stands they were adequate. Not the best but within the budget at the time these were a great deal and lasted for quite some time even with idiots mistreating them. Reasonable quality at an affordable price

I use two of these to capture a cabinet with two mics, either live or on recording session. I would say they are better for studio but less good for live - there are smaller, lighter, better products for live usage. I would say they are good products and they do the job. I do recommend them.

Super quality mic stand

The first thing you notice about this stand is the quality. It's made of quite thick metal and you are certainly not worried that the stand will ever fall over. As with all stands, you have to be really careful putting them up and packing them away because it's so easy to trap your fingers in them. This stand has some really sturdy good quality thumb screws and you can clamp it down and keep the mic in the perfect position. I've never had the mic start to slide down as you sometimes see with some poorly constructed stands.

The price of this stand certainly isn't expensive and you would still probably be happy to receive a stand of slightly cheaper manufacture, but in fact when you receive this stand, won't be disappointed at all.

A really robust stand that can stand being abused on the road.

Great for miking up a snare drum....

This is a very decent quality stand, and even better for the price.

I find it perfectly suited to holding my AT MB-2K Microphone to mic my snare,

even when space is an issue, due to cymbal legs etc, as it has an extendable arm.

Very sturdy build helps to keep the microphone in place when recording,

or in a live environment. Millenium make incredible quality items at less than half the price in most cases (if not all!) of the leading brands, and this item is no different. Their drum hardware is exceptional, so much so that I have replaced all of my bigger branded hardware with Millenium 900 series.

I use it for mic ing my amp in my home studio. For a live situation wouldn't be the best choice.

You really have to gather hard if you want to be stable.

So if you want to put it in one place and leave it there for a long time is a good choice but if you have to move it often and change the position, high, etc. this is not a good choice at all.

Superb quality!

The only regret I have about this stand is that I didn't buy two or three! I needed one - absolute minimum - for miking my drummer's kick drum, both in our home-studio work and for live, but I saw a deal on elsewhere for cheap, full-size stands and I went for it, knowing that I could get away with having only one small stand. I wish I had gone the extra few quid and bought at least one more of these stands.

This stand is easily the best instrument mic stand I have - I have a couple of Hercules stands for vocals. In bang-for-buck terms, I would say this stand is better than my Hercules stands.

Millenium Mic Stands, very happy with my purchase

I recently bought 3 of these stands to be used to hold miss for a drum kit and guitar cabs, as they are not the full size mic stands. So far, i have used them at two live gigs, and they have performed very well. The clamps, and screw connectors still feel solid, and i am sure they will last a long time. Very happy with my purchase.

Toy Mic Stand for sale!

I tried 3 of these. One arrived with no screws in the base, another had a crossed thread on main boom clamp, the third was ok.

If you have no money buy this as a temporary measure but order in plenty of time to exchange the bad ones.

I don't expect them to last!
