Millenium MS 2002 Mic Stand Reviews
The perfect snare mic stand
This is a fantastic stand for snare drum mics. A small footprint for getting in between drum stands. Then, when it gets really awkward for the positioning the mic in a tiny gap between the kick/toms/hihat/stands, the telescopic boom arm really helps you reach in there, and the solid base keeps it anchored to the floor. All metal contraction too, which is a nice surprise at this price point apart from the thumb wheels (plastic) for tightening everything up, but not had any mishaps so far in 3 years.
It's good, yo.
This thing is a little Titan, it'll hold microphones and other microphone stands hooked up to microphones - and it'll do it all without wobbling a bit. Perfect for mic'ing up guitar amps.
Great Sturdy Littly Stand!
I got 2 Millenium MS-2002's to use micing up guitar amps in my studio and they work great! I was a little worried that at this price they might not be all that sturdy but i was wrong! Now i use them all over, they are such useful little stands to mic up instruments. and come with a cable clip to keep things nice and tidy, great for any studio or live environment. All in all 4.5 out of 5, An Great useful little stand at a great price!
A fantastic little stand
This is a wonderful small microphone stand, and for the money it is absolutely unbelievable. I have used lots of these stands over the years and the quality for price ratio is very high. Although the main body of the stand is small it actually extends very far on both the body and boom arm. It can get more or less tall enough to even use as a stand for a vocal mic at a push. The main applications for this stand are for guitar amps, kick drums and anything else close to the ground.
Great value and fully functional
I now have 4 of these which I use to mic the drums on my kit. I have wooden hoops all round so I find the use of mic stands favourable V's clip on mics. These stands are robust enough to stand life on the road. I've had some of them for several years now with no issues. The adjustment is good and as they are short they can be located in between the drums on the kit. We also use these in the band to mic the guitar cabs. Great value for money.
Great little stand
I needed a small mic stand to record guitar cabs as the normal boom stands are too big and clumsy to use. Perfect height for guitar cabs, snares and kick mic'ing. Very happy with it.
Perfect for kicks and cabs
I have a few of these that are used both live and in the studio for mic'ing up kicks and cabs.
They are tough, well made and stable. Pretty much all you can ask for in a mic stand.
They are very versatile with the extending neck and I have even used them to mic the top speaker of a 4x12 before now with no stability problems.
Cheap stand, poor quality
The build quality of this product is so poor that I can't even set it up straight!
I suggest anyone who needs this type of microphone stand to go for a more trustworthy brand.
Almost a brilliant product...
The stand is a great height for micing the outside kickdrum, guitar amps and capturing the mounted drums or hats.
I have two of these, one has lasted really well, the other unfortunately had a problem with the boom arm not tightening anymore. You don't much pressure when tightening these stands, however apply too much and they are possibly going to break.
Very useful product though, and a great price!
Good cheap stand
I needed a small stand for low to the ground micing such as bass drums but I also wanted one that could extend far enough to reach a snare drum or top of a guitar cab that wasn't too in the way, this does that with ease as its a 2-tier stand and 2-tier boom arm.
Its a good quality stand and comes with an adapter for mic clips. Its well balanced and I wouldn't be surprised if it even could hold an Electrovoice RE-20 without any issue.
I think the only problem I have is that the hand grip to tighten and lock in the veritcle pole high has cracked and broken making it much harder to turn but much sturdier in hight. I do believe this was due to someone dropping it and not actual a fault of the mic stand itself though.
In conclusion, its a small stand with a big reach at a very good price.
Pleasantly surprised!
I got this to mic my guitar amp for home recording, and to mic a cajón at gigs. It is very well built and very sturdy, using apparently much better and stronger materials than it's counter part MS-2005 stand.
I feel like you can depend on it, at no time do i feel like it will break. Granted it is left mostly at home, but the few times its been used for the cajón, it's been a joy to have.
It folds reasonably small and is very easy to transport and keep safe as a result.
Definitely worth buying!
Millenium Mic -Stand
This is a great little mic stand I use for putting mics on my drum kit, either on the bass drum or snare drum. Well made, never moves and nothing ever comes loose which is always a worry. Highly recommended. I might buy another.
I really like this thing, been needing one for a while for micing up the bands kick drum and it does the job perfect, also gave it whirl on my guitar am and although it's compact it can really get some length on it. Would buy another for sure, whether it's for studio or live use.
Quality mini microphone stand
This is a good little stand. I've used it many times when mic'ing up my amp to the PA when a wider spread is required. I don't use it now as my current amp allows me to DI. But for the money this is a perfectly good stand. Very sturdy and also fairly discreet.
A fine stand.
Although I would not think of these stands as touring grade, they are perfectly fine for studio use, and light live sound usage. For the money they work well, I would happily buy them again.
Great budget stand
I purchased this mic stand as part of a bundle as it didn't cost very much to add it to the microphone I already intended to buy. When it arrived I was very pleased with the build quality and weight. It is extremely sturdy for the price. Can't find reason to complain at all.
Very good stand.
I use these stands on drums and guitar cabinets both in studio and on stage and they do their share very well! They are long enough to reach a snare drom and a hi-hat but not too long to get in the way. Great idea at a good price.
Good mic stand
The mic stand is used to pick up a guitar amp in our rehearsal room and it does its job very well. The handling is easy and it is stable and doesn't need to much space, which is always a good thing.
Short boom mic stand review
I bought a couple of these after a few older ones broke in the recording studio, which is where they have been used pretty extensively since. They're still going strong after plenty of use a year or so down the line but I do find that sometimes things don't quite screw on as they should; maybe not tight enough so you do occasionally end up with your mics spinning around. Not at all bad for the money but they're probably not for the more serious musicians or for use in venues. I would wager they would break pretty quickly.
