You get what you pay for...

Not the worst mic stand for the money but I would only recommend this for home or practice use. Wouldn't be durable enough to take out on the road long term. Save up and get something more mid market.. Depends really on your requirements..

It holds a mic

I paid £20 for a behringer mic, a 5m xlr cable and this stand so really can't complain. It's not as flimsy as I expected it to be, but wouldn't survive a tour. Would suit a school or village hall. Not suitable for rock bands!

Not Great.

I am usually a fan of Millenium gear but I found these mic stands to be very hit and miss. I have used some and they have been great while the same model but another stand can be less sturdy and of a lower quality. However, when they are good they hold mics of all weights and sizes very well and are very durable for both live and studio work, but taking a chance of purchasing a well made stand is not highly recommended

You get what you pay for

This is a very cheap stand - for the money, it's pretty good however...

There is only one screw which holds the boom to the stand. When you loosen it, the boom can slide AND angle. Most stands have one screw for boom angle and another for boom in/out. This is an unfortunate design.

I have 2 of these - they work OK but I won't buy another one.

Okay for some uses.

This stand is alright for holding lighter microphones like your average dynamic mic (e. g. Shure sm57) but anything heavier massively limits its positioning and thus will affect where you can use it. Decent for live use with a regular dynamic microphone though.

good stands

i bought several of these for band rehearsals and some small gigs, and i was impressed. they are not the sturdiest and would not rely on them for playing every night or few nights, but for having a jam or just practicing and small gigs,maybe even as back up mics, they are definitely worth a go.

Cheap and ok

Bought a few o them to record guitars and drums. Works fairly good and does what they're meant to do. Be careful though when tightening the knobs to adjust the position. One of my stands broke and fell apart. After that I've been more careful and the other ones are doing fine.

Good while they lasted

I had these microphone stands for about a year before they both got broken. I thought these were great for the price, very sturdy and lightweight, but I think over time they were maybe tightened a bit much and the locking mechanism snapped in half. The locking mechanism was made of a pretty soft plastic so I think I should have been a bit gentle with them. I'll certainly know next time.

i'm not very happy

The stand is stable, usable and nice. But with time, the screww betwen the two part got losse. So its unnusable now.

For its cheap price is perfect and i will not complain. But keep in mind it may not last forever.

Not for the heavy ones

I bought this since I needed a new stand. It is sturdy if the mic is not to heavy, otherwise it will knock it over. The adjustability was not very good; I tried to tighten the mid one, it broke and created a straight stand. The other part is in the garbage.

The quality is a bit poor, but works fine at my basement studio. If you are in need for an okay stand for a little money. Works fine with smaller mics (cheap dynamic)

Good stand for home use

I bought this stand to use with a T.Bone large-diaphragm condenser microphone. It's good, but it's also very cheap, which is noticeable in the build quality. However, if you just need a basic stand for your microphone at home, then this is good enough. It isn't going to last very long in a touring situation, but is good for home use.

Functional

I need to have a microphone held still at the height and angle I want. Once set up, it'll stay in position until I need to move it again.

This is probably a good use of it. I have some doubts about the boom/upright locking mechanism as it is plastic plates with a rubbery/neoprene-y ring held under compression. I'd imagine this is the weak spot, and indeed other reviewers allude to this. For me, this is for mic'ing cabs. The option allowed by the additional screw mount atop the upright is used for a room mic when playing about at home.

Overall then, I have doubts about the longevity of the boom clamp, but no doubt at all that it is a bargain stand for the penurious, has some flexibility, is very stable, is quick to set up ( careful about tensioning! ) and tear down and if I ever learn to sing in key/at all/ not flat etc, or take to stage announcement, I'll buy another. I look after kit.

EDIT:

The clamp longevity issue reared its head. I was using the stand, doing some backing vocals ( in key ! ) when I knocked the stand over. Yup, clamp snapped. It's still holding together, but for how long I don't know. I'll just replace the clamp with a stronger one and get on with it.

not the best one could find

I guess for the money it is good. One can add another arm, but I seriously doubt it would hold anything. I am using it for placing mics in the front of guitar speakers, and for that they are perfect. If you have a heavy mic and want to imitate David Lee Roth, forget about it.

Geht so - Nichts für die Ewigkeit

You get what you pay. Also wer was hochwertiges möchte muss eher so in die Preiskategorie 50 € gehen. Aber zum homerecorden und gelegentlichen Live-Einsatz passt das Teil. Zum Touren ist das nix. Da würde das Ding wahrscheinlich nach 1,5 Wochen die ersten Schrauben/Teile verlieren.

Cheap, does what you could expect at this pricepoint

Bought two of these for drum recording sessions for overhead mics while my money was tight. Did the job, didn't trip over when positioned carefully. Although, their boom-arms can't be tightened properly without major fractures in plastic.

I recommend to buy something more reliable if you are going to use full length of these and you're not interested in making your own "designs" to keep them in shape in such use.

Mike stand

For the price, I'm very happy. Using 2 now for a few weeks and yeah all good. no Prob.

Excellent price, decent quality

If you need a mic stand this is a decent buy. If you need many, you can still afford them if you buy this model!

Don't expect it to be heavy, sturdy, rugged or to last through periods of intense handling. Don't bring it on the road while touring. But definitely put it in a rehearsal space or a small studio!

I have many mic stands, some expensive, some cheap. Some old, some new. This one does not stand out quality wise, and will probably break before some of the others. But because of its low price I can afford more things for my setup!

Cheap

Quite standard in all the fields. Easy to fold up and quite easy to connect the microphone. The boom is stable enough.

In real life this is a stand that you should get if the price is important. Because the stand is really ok, it is but, it is not the best one out there. Not even close...

The stand will eventually fail you in some annoying way. Either it's going to be be the base that cracks (plastic supports for the bolts holding the legs) or it's going to be the plate that holds the boom, or the plastic cover for adjusting the height.

If you know your stand will never suffer a live rock gig then you should be just fine. I had all the above points fail me, but I still considered the stand a good purchase, so no hard feelings.

Well, no surprises...

Our drummer didn't want to spend a lot for a mic tripod

we got this & no surprises, it works fine & is more than adequate just don't expect it to survive a world tour

The materials are nicely finished, it is sturdy enough for it's intended use & at this price we have no complaints at all

Its okay for the asking price

Bought a couple of these mic stands for use in a small home studio - I find they fall over easy and can be finicky - i Place a small sandbag on one of the legs and its sorted - for the money you cant really complain!
