Mooer Shim Verb Reviews
Not convinced
The Shimmer is unusable. The other 2 types didnât convince either. Went for Mxr unit instead.
Very good pedal with a lot of character
Very nice sound, unbeatable for the price. The spring and room sound exactly like you would want those classic sounds to work, and the shimmer is the fancy one to have fun with.
The footswitch also doesn't make a huge clank noise, which is very nice.
Only problem: Mooer pedals don't seem to automatically turn on: Wenn I plug in my power unit, all pedals are ready to go, except my two Mooers, where I need to unplug and replug the power cable.
It's a pretty okay pedal. The reverb is a little thin, the shimmer is a little one-sided. The other reverbs are dull sounding to me. The form factor and the build quality is great though, but I wouldn't by this pedal again. For the price there's nothing too much to ask for.
Very good for its price !!!
Okay reverb for the price.
The shimmer algorithm sounds decent. The room and spring algorithms not so much - most other reverb pedals do those sounds better.
The mini-knobs are annoying as always, especially since the control I really want to use most of the time isn't decay but level.
That said the build quality is okay. If you want a shimmer reverb on the cheap, you could do worse than this one. Good for the money. If you're getting this for the spring or room sounds you'll be disappointed.
ONLY FOR SUBTLE REVERB USE
Very subtle reverb even in on full
room is the only usable, spring is barely audible and shimmer is just fake .no extra noise or artifacts added, easy to use, level and color do VERY little from 0 to full
Is this little thing worth the cost?
I bought this effect pedal just because i read in specs that it has 3 effects in 1. I guess it was 10 euros cheaper when i bought it (actually, now i would think twice before buying this). Of course price is affordable for what you get. What I really like it is small in size and very easy to use. With just 3 knobs you can get full variety of sound.
Unfortunately i am a little bit disappointed on shimmer efect. It sounds good but it will sound weird on some different chords or faster notes. I use both reverb effects ? room and spring reverb. I?m totally suprised in sound of spring reverb. It sounds great, clear and bright. Definately one of my favourite effects.
Overall ? Pedal is totally worth it?s price just because it is compact and it has spring reverb.
Half the reverb
Hi!
One day i knew i had to get a reverb pedal, but what do I buy with limited budget. I decided to look for few options and found shimverb and TC hall of fame mini. I decided to buy this pedal at the end due to it being 10 euros cheaper (what a bad decision i made). Seriously I could have easily spent 10 euros more and would have gotten such a better reverb pedal :(.
I mean this pedal is okay, but i do not like the shimmer because it is awful, basically, you can only properly use it either on one single chord until it rings or single note. If you play with faster changes etc, it will turn into one weird blur of sounds. Spring and Room reverbs sound ok to me. I am a more spring reverb guy. If you spend just like 2 min, you can find the right spot for the sound you want to have.
All in all for the price it's not the worst buy, but if I could go back in time, I would go for TC hall of fame mini.
I use it for the Verb not the Shim
I was looking forward to trying out this pedal but after a while I began to not like the shimmer effect and only used the spring. The shimmer ends up having notes ring out that wouldnt be in harmony to what I am playing, I would only use it when create a drone on one note but any more that this would get a bit messy.
The other options are room and spring reverbs and this are nice and easy to use. There are better pedals out there for the same price which could do a better job but these can do the job for gigs or practices.
Really nice pedal
This pedal is continuously On in my pedal chain, for recording, rehearsing and playing live. I really like the spring reverb.
Pros:
-Easy to use, but really easy to use.
-Compact size so you can fit it anywhere in your pedalboard.
-The spring reverb is amazing! I just keep it on all the time since my amp is a modeling amp and I prefer the sound of pedals.
-Solid construction
Cons:
-I don't like the shimmer, sounds weird but again, can be me that I haven't still get the hang of it.
Overall:
Well, for sure I would be extremely sad/pissed off if someone would take it from me. It has become a part of my personal tone and it works great with other pedals. No noise or modifying when its off and the spring reverb is really nice. Would recommend it to a friend for sure.
Mooer Shim Verb
I use it to have fun with my bass or guitar creating texture of sound with the spring/shimmer section. Very good sound comes from this little pedal even from the room section.
Save money, save space!
Great budget quality product
Mooer make awesome little pedals for the price, great tone, nice design and cool colours. Really happy.
Using the pedal in different gigging environments , small blues sessions and full venue gigs. It work for everything.
Never let me down. Only hassle is that you can't use a battery. Still very reliable and solid build.
The blue LED is a nice feature and stands out in all outdoor scenarios. I would definitely buy more of these , I've played though this pedal and cannot complain . Genuine worth my €60. I have recommended these pedals to everyone who plays guitar or even any electric instrument. Super gear!
Awesome reverb
This is an awesome reverb pedal with 3 distinctive modes. It's small, relatively cheap, and sounds really good. If you're in the market for a reverb, you should consider this one.
My new favorite
I use this pedal mostly for the Shimmer function which gives a sweet, glimmering, overtone kind of feel for sparkly tones. An excellent pedal if you're into shoegaze or dreampop. Just be careful with the Color-knob if you want a more subtle reverb kinda feel, as it can overpower your overall sound if excessively used. It's super small and takes up very little space on my pedalboard (which is appreciated).
Useful compact thing in my pedalboard!
I bought this pedal effect, for various reasons. First, I needed a reverb effect. Secondly, it was necessary compact pedal to fit in my pedalboard. Thirdly, it was necessary quality. And all this I got by purchasing this magnificent miniature pedal!
I want to mention a useful function "colour" - it allows for so to say "brightness" effect, as I call it. I particularly liked the sound of this effect in the position of the switch to "shimmer". There turned out such "space" sound, the one that I use very often now.
This pedal is perfect fit for my little pedalboard, which, as it seemed to have no place for the pedals.
ShimVerb
Mooer ShimVerb is a very unique pedal. It is very small, but has many features.
So, i have this little thing in my board over a year, and some of things I have found out are:
+: It is very usable in many different pats. For instance, i like to use it to make my tone wider. I crank up decay to 3/4 and switch to shimmer, but I leave volume low, not to lose my guitar tone so much, and then it gives me the kind of background, like pianos and electro. It is very usable to get "space" kind of sounds. The reverb on this pedal is common, I use it rare, because shimmer mode for me is better in playing.
-: The most anyoing thing is the switch. When I play my guitar and tur it on, it is like the sound makes a click. There is a gap.
When volume is cranked up like 2/3 the sound of guitar fades and makes a feeling, that you have a very big signal loss in this pedal (shimmer)
And the shimmer adds only 5th position. This could be awesome and bad at the same time. I find it useful.
mooer tested
I've tested it, soundwise it's good, it has the functions you expect on a reverb.
I didn't buy the mooer conenctor plugs and i regret that. Since these pedals are so small and light they tend to get pushed over by the connector cables in between them.
I strongly advise using the mooer pedal board and connector plugs too !
Big small Reverb!!
Love this pedal, especially the eerie shimmer effect. The size means I can fit an extra pedal alongside it, and it's really sturdy.
Beautiful shimmer but it cuts bass and low mid
I love the versatility and the shimmering tone in this tiny pedal. Pity it cuts bass and low mids, weakening the guitar tone. Doesn't matter as much strumming chords but it really kills a lead guitar.
Mooer Shim Verb
This little pedal will be on my practice board or not used. The sounds are okay, and it's tiny so fits almost anywhere, but it colours the original signal too much for my taste. I also get a 'pop' when switching it on or off. It's my first reverb pedal, so I wasn't sure what to expect, and maybe expected too much.
