Great for podcasting

I bought one of these as an easy way to give every guest on my podcast access to their volume. It's sturdy, has full size stereo inputs and sounds great. Good choice if you need individual volume knobs.

As advertised and beyond

Persons is getting extremely reliable to offer quality at low prices. This one is no exception. I am no fanboy, I promise.

Very good piece of equipment

Great sound, great build quality, a lot of power - thats what I wanted. I use the HP4 for recording, to listen to the monitor mix that I want for recording. On my Komplete Audio with Logic Pro, I use output 3-4, fed by the sends by defining "Output 3-4", so I have a mix not controlled by the main channel faders. When the recording is done, I switch to output 1-2 for the Presonus and listen to the "official" mix.

The only thing I find a bit strange is that the volume buttons are not above the corresponding plugs. A bit irritating and in my view unnecessary. The best is to place the HP4 at your right hand, so the perspective puts volume knob and plug almost in line...

Love it

I've had it since Christmas 2020 and I can say that I'm extremely happy with it.

It's super easy to use, has more than enough volume even cranked half way and has great clarity of sound. It took my DT-880's 600Ohms to the next level. I'll be ordering a pair of Sennheiser HD-280 Pro's soon and I can't wait to see what they sound like through this HP amp.

Pro's: Sturdy build, love the on/off switch on the cable, nobs feel great, looks super slick, tons of volume and clarity, doesn't take up a lot of space (I don't have a huge desk so space is super important to me)

Cons: I don't have two of them (even though I don't need another one haha)

Nice piece of gear.

First of all, I must say that this is the first headphones amp I ever own.

I am a student in electroacoustic composition and I have 5 years experience in studio recording etc., from the home basic stuff to proper studio gear (In my school we have enormous Genelec speakers, a big SSL console etc.).

Comparing same headphones (DT990Pro) with the HP4 output to the headphones output of the Audient iD14, one can surely feel a difference in volume, even though I do not need it.

Regarding the actual quality, I think - and feel -this aspect is improved, I do not have any actual data about it though.

So, is it worth to spend 100+ € for this? I do not know.

If you need more headphones outs, surely it is.

Personally, I bought this cause I had problems with 3 pair of headphones stop working without any reason (2 AKG 702 and one DT990Pro) so I wanted to understand if this was related to any piece of my electroacoustic chain.

Surely the "mono" button and the fact that you can pass through and send the signal to your monitor could be really useful (you have also a "monitor mute" button).

A must at any home studio

Very good sound quality. It takes your headphone go the next level. It may sounds crazy but I'm using 2 outputs connected with my Onix4 speaker and it sounds amazing :)

They will make a difference from stock phones input

These do sound much better than your stock headphone input found in most devices these days.

Excellent!

Does everything it says plus the build quality and sound are great.

You can hook up your monitor speakers to the unamplified outputs and control the volume of them separately.

This amp also has a monitor mute button, so it's perfect when you record in your living room and need to mute the monitors while recording.

No ON/OFF button on the unit, but the power cord has a switch for turning it off. Nice touch!

Good quality sound

This is also an example of valu for price performance. If you don't want to spend a lot of cash for your simple home studio, this pre is a go. I have paired it with my Scarlett 2i2 2ndGen and Presonus sounds better not only louder. This is necessary for good studio cans for mixing and mastering.

Cheap but works perfectly

I was put it to a small stand and now it can move everywhere easily. Nothing special, but the sound is absolutely good and clear, loud enough. The unit looks like a cheap item, and it is not expensive, yes, but it works. It works, as all the Presonus devices.

Great headphone amp.

I really don't see any flaws in this unit. It does the job i wanted it to do, and does it well. Granted, i'm not a studio professional so i can't comment on how it sounds, but at least it has no obvious flaws.

EDIT: after a few years of using it, some flaws have appeared. One of the outputs is pretty much dead now. The other one has stereo imbalance on lower volumes, and has a scratchy and noisy volume knob. The other outputs seem to be okay so far, so it's not all bad, but i guess you get what you pay for.
