My humble favorite strings

I keep buying these year after year. For me these are the bread and butter of nylon strings: anything noticable better would probably cost triple of these.

Great quality. Low tension.

If low tension is what you aim for, these strings are for you.

Excellent

Fast becoming my favourite classical guitar string. Good price, quite durable, intonation is a good across the register. I like these far better than the other budget strings I have tried.

Best bang for buck!

Very good strings for such a small money, they lasted for 3 years on my cheap but dear classical guitar!!!

Cheap, decent strings but not the best sound and VERY low tension.

I decided to test these strings because of the low price and also because I've been happy with other Pyramid products in the past. I didn't expect much at this price but I wanted to give them a fair chance.

The first problem was the length of the A and D-strings. They weren't too short but it was VERY close. You really need to make sure you don't waste too much string at the bridge. You could easily run out of string length at the tuning pegs. Seriously, how much can it cost to make the A and D-strings just 2-3 cm longer? I tested two sets and both were the same: The A and D-strings were just barely long enough.

The tuning stability was fine once the strings had settled. The sound was ok but with a noticeable lack of clarity compared to the strings I normally use (which to be fair cost 4 times as much). I would consider these strings more than adequate for practise but I wouldn't use them for recordings or concerts.

The main problem for me was the tension though. These strings have much too low tension for my taste. I guess I was fooled by the fact that Pyramid call them "medium" tension. I guess I should have checked the actual tension figures. These strings are more like ultra low tension from most other brands (except possibly D'Addario who also like to call their low tension strings "normal" and "hard"...).

If you like low tension strings and want something cheap for practise you will probably be very happy with these strings.

If you want the best possible sound or like strings that most manufacturers would refer to as "medium" tension... keep searching, these strings are not for you.

Nice strings. handles tune well, Nicely priced.

Decent Strings

This set took sometime for the strings from slippage and required adjustments with the turn keys. However, I found the tonal quality similar to other sets I used twice in cost. Their durability at the stress point, bridge, exceeded twice as long before breakage. Perfect if you are on a budget or need to keep spare strings.

Mediocre

Compared to D`Addario, which i was using all the time - these went bad sooner and sound worse.

Clear vibrant sound

I used these Pyramid Nylon strings for my Japanese 70's spanish guitar and it really gave the guitar a clear vibrant sound. Some nylon strings tend to sound a bit dull, but i never really complained about Pyramid's quality.

The strings are tall enough and has a clear strong direct sound. Recommended!!

The sound is not that strong but sweet.

Decent quality for the price

I bought these strings for the guitar my son is learning to play on. The sound is fine and the strings seem to hold up fine.

Quite Nice!

I've tested a great amount of string brands and types and for me the best and trustworthy are the D'Addario Pro Arte, but they cost a lot and I have 4 guitars and can't really afford pricey strings for all of them,

well, these Pyramids are great for my cheaper guitars, great quality, very nicely wound basses and generally the tone is beyond just decent.

Very cool, impressed!

Good strings

This classical strings are good strings for starter. They are medium tension. Price-quality is good. Sound is beautiful also nice low E . I really recommend this strings if you start because they are not too much tense and play very nice.

Good quality

Good quality for reasonable price. My guitar likes when the strings are from the high class and it produces much richer sound.
