A staple!

I've used Remo CS batter heads since the 1980's with some exceptions where I have gone to pinstripes for the even more controlled sound. An open, but yet controlled classic head. Recommended for all.

Big, fat and warm

I use this head on a 14x6,5 mapel Free Floating Snare. The drum sounds really nice, warm and fat. That's exactly what I was going for. And do not think that it does not ring because of the thickness that results from the two plies and the sticker underneath. Without dampening the drum has a nice clean and long sustain ... depending on tuning of course. After experimenting with moon gel in a recording situation we achieved a really big, wet rock sound, tuned mid- to low-range, I'd say.

Of course the coating wears off as it does with heads of this kind. But in general it lasts quite long and still sounds ok.

I'd definitively use it again.

Great Snare Head

Among snare heads out there on the market today are some excellent makes and styles but these Remo Emperors must be in the top 3 of any ones favourites. Incredibly tough and resilient they tune up and hold that tuning so easily I'd recommend to anyone.
