Detailed neutral recordings

In my opinion the NT1 is a great mic for smooth en detailed recordings. Because there is not a very prominent EQ character to it the RØDE is very useful for in-the-box coloring afterwards.

Its really beautiful on vocals, acoustic guitars and also useful for drum overheads when you got two of them.

I only find that the lows are a little bit boxy. It doesn't breathe as much as other mics I used in the €200-400 price range. You have to use an high-pass (not on the mic) to control this.

+ neutral but detailed

+ very low noice

- it lacks a little bit of definition in the lows

Nicely quality done in a budget friendly price

This is the first mic I have bought for my home studio. It served as a general purpose microphone, though, it is mainly for vocal uses as it is a condenser mic.

The microphone itself is pretty transparent I must say, this enables me to craft the sound into anything I wanted it to be through mixing. I heard that the old NT1A gives a much brighter sound in comparison to the NT1, which is more flat and dull without any post processing. However, this is definitely what I aimed for.

The neutral sounding aspects definitely could be a pro and con at the same time, but generally I loved how I could push the recording into different tones through post processing! LOVE IT!

The noise floor is okay in this is mic, in my home studio it worked well. Since I plug the mic into my interface directly, the noisefloor is not the best as the mic should be, I recommend getting a preamp if you want to have the mic sound much better. It gives a lot of clarity too!

Amazing sounding mic

beautiful mic from Rode. Big fan of their mics. Comparable to a U87 at a fraction of the price. Doesn't get better

Great Sounding Mic

A great sounding mic that easily holds its own against many of the more expensive options I have in my collection and regularly used in my studio. Not as bright or harsh as the NT1-A.

fantastic product.

wanted to get a middle of the road mike, looked at se x1 carbon or the rode nt1. the nt1 records crystal clear, captures everything with a very low background noise ratio, i am blown away, highly recommended.

BEST value for the money!

I use this mix mainly to record vocals but i also tried recording overall for drums.

This microphone is amazing, it is so silent that when you push your gain in a silent room, you can even hear your heartbeat.

for vocals, it is crystal,

the Paint on the mic and the grill gets scratched easily

super flat response

Very good microphone with good construction and low noise. You can record even quieter vocals. Response is flat, so no coloration on vocals. Recording kit accessories are high quality and worth few extra bucks for sure.

Sleek, well-made and great value

The Rode NT1-Kit comprises the NT1 microphone, an extremely well designed shock mount that will attach to any standard microphone stand, and a very sleek and well made pop screen that just push-fits into the shock mount. The NT1 body is is made in aluminium and is capped in a sturdy mesh, all finished in sleek matt black. The NT1 feels good to hold and the weight ratio is extremely comfortable, you know you are holding something well made. The NT1 also sits comfortably into the well-designed shock mount and is secured into it via a large sturdy ring screw underneath. Again, finished in sleek matt black, the combination of the 3 components, microphone, shock mount and pop screen make for a very professional look.

I use the NT1 for recording singing bowls and use it in an extremely quiet space. The sound of the NT1 is non-existent. It is very sensitive and covers all the frequency ranges I am looking to. The complete kit comes in a sturdy packaging and includes an operator manual and carry bag.....oh and a sticker. Excellent value for money!! Totally recommended.

Incredible

If you are looking for your first condenser microphone, want it to be very good for vocal and many instruments (piano, drums, bras, guitar), you do not have enough or do not want to spend thousands for one hi-end item, but want hi-end quality - this is what you dreamed about.

It sounds fantastic.

Pop filter is very good.

Excellent Microphone!

This microphone just sounds great.

Anything you put on front of it is captured beautifully, i have used it for acoustic guitar, male vocals, Female vocals, I have used it for both soft and aggressive music and everything just sounds fantastic!

It sounds clean, with lots of detail throughout the entire spectrum! it also doesn't pick up a whole bunch of unwanted noise like a lot of other condenser mics i have used have so i would definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't have the quietest of rooms to record in!

The pop filter it comes with is fantastic, its a plastic mesh so you dont have to worry about it getting torn! and you can give it a rinse every now and then to make sure its clean!

The shock mount is sturdy! and holds the microphone nicely, i have had problems before with shock mounts slipping on me as i am trying to record, but this one is fantastic!

5/5 Would highly recommend! the best mic i have tried in this price range!

Great Kit!

The microphone, pop guard and suspension mount are all extremely well made

The microphone is very sensitive and has a great tone. I've used it to record several professional voiceovers

I've used a Rode Podcaster up to now, which was excellent, but this is even better!

As they claim, it is also extremely quiet [with no internal noise that I can detect]
