This is a great Studio microphone. I have been using it for over 12 years in conjunction with DBX 286 S in my work. This time I bought it for my friend, because it's also in a set with a rack, a spider, and a cable. This is a profitable purchase. This microphone has three directional charts for different tasks and it's great. Best sound! I recommend it!

Perfect, flexible mic!

I had to return a faulty one, after it stopped working, but the service was very fast and I have had no issues.

Sound quality amazing, very versatile mic. Would only wish it included a hard case.

Unfortunately the screw that stops the pop filter from rotating does not tighten well, but after inserting a piece of paper in the thread to make it tighter it works flawlessly.

Идеальный набор за с&#1074

Использую как для записи акустики, так и голоса, и даже писал гитару с маршаловского стека.

Использовал с хорошими преампами/картами

- UAD карты (где тоже все в порядке с преампами),

- Focusrite Clarret 8PreX.

- Drawmer 1960 - the BEST

- Golden Age Project Pre-73 MKIII Plus - тоже неплохо.

Amazing value for the price

I just ordered a range of condenser mics from €300-€900 for voiceover work and did a blind test. Of course, it's subjective, but for me this little beauty came out a close second, only beaten by a TLM102. Tons of options for patterns and low cuts, plus the stand and cable make this a really good deal, especially if you're just starting out and can't afford a really expensive mic.

Full of Feature

I was about to but the lower version of this but there's a technical issue when purchasing. I did not regret the money spent. This is the best mic I have ever had.

Pros:

+ The pattern changing option on the mic itself are very useful. If you only want to buy 1 mic, you should choose this. You can use it for vocal, duet, or instrument recording.

+ The pad is useful if you are in a small home studio. Sometimes you just need to sing and listen to your own voice through a speaker. The pad can help to minimize feedback even though the real purpose was to record high dB sounds

+ The noise level is at the absolute minimum. My DAW record the voice from the mic with extremely low signal yet when I normalized, the noise is still undetectable.

+ The sound color suits my taste, especially when I use mostly to record female voice and teenagers.

Cons:

- The SM6 shock mount makes it not possible to place 90 deg between you and the mic stand because where you mount the mic and the pop filter are in a straight line.

All in all, I like it.

Stop your research here uy it

Product was dot on Time and Packaging was awesome..

Product Quality : Mic is rock solid and heavy. the moment you grab it into your hands you will feel you have invested in the right product.. its robust.. coming to shock mount Its steady and heavy too. both mic and shock mount are bit heavy .. so you need a heavy duty stand for it..

MIC Quality: i have been using AKG p120 MIC for 1.5 years ... after plugging in Rode NT2A .. I felt like it gave me Wings to my vocals and to this price range its the best... low frequency are warm, mid is smooth and highs are crisp for vocals...

I also recorded Acoustic guitar and its really crazy.. i never expected this would really change the quality to this extent.

Before ordering the product i was bit skeptical weather to invest near to $280 for home studio. but its worth it and you can take it too if u can afford it...

used for male and female vocals

I use this in a very small setup a bedroom.

This microphone pic's up everything but good that you can choose only to use the front Omnidirectional.

I have it attached through a Boss Br800 and using this with Audacity or Sonar.

A good microphone compared to how much I paid for it, this is an introduction microphone.

Great Package

The quality of the mike itself is first class, it’s solid and well constructed and pretty heavy so feels like a quality product. Most importantly it sounds great, previously I had been using my go to stage mike (SM58) but for home studio use, the Rode is more fit for purpose. The cradle which comes with it works well as does the pop filter, though the latter is a little flimsy, so I’ll see how durable that will be over time, but useful nevertheless.

Initially I wanted the the NT-1 as I need it almost entirely for vocals so I thought I would never need the additional features on the NT-2A but already I have used some of those features and for just a little additional investment it seems well worth it and I’m glad I went for the upgrade.

Clearly you can spend a fortune on a quality condenser mike, but for real world, normal use eg a home studio, the Rode does the job and the sound quality Is perfect for this application. At this price point it is an excellent addition to my studio.

An underrated mic

I really like this mic, it has enough features to be used in different settings (voiceovers, audiobooks, podcasts, singing, instruments...)

It comes a bit sensitive to certain frequencies, but its minor enough to be easily EQed during the mix.

Very crisp and clear sound.

The low cut feature is great!

Not worth looking to buy something more expensive.

I bought Rode NT2-A Studio Solution Set for my home studio, and totally surprised with the quality and variability of the ways that I can use this microphone. I use it in conjunction with Ableton Live + Focusrite Scarlett 6i6. I can record from 1 to 4 or even 6 vocalists in one time due to three variable positioning polar pattern. Also i easily can record acoustic guitars, percussions like shakers etc. and even a piano.

As for sound quality - the recording is a little better I heard only at the Neumann microphones and old ribbon microphones - but it is another price category... The cable and pop filter that cames in set are okay! Very convenient when everything is sold in one set.

That was pros.)))

As for the cons - I can say that the microphone itself has no cons. But I think that the shock mount that comes in set is pretty flimsy, and I'm afraid it might tear. But maybe it's just my imagination.)))

And yes - the microphone sleeve looks really cheap - but who cares?...)))

I recommend this set to everyone who appreciates high-quality sound, and knows how to count money! Good luck! And long live rock'n'roll!!!

Great Mic

This was my fist serious mic purchase and i am really satisfied with it really. Previously i had an SM57 but with the RODE i feel that my vocals and recordings with my accoustic guitar now are on another level.

Came quick. In comparison with my old AKG 120 USB it`s like the next next level of quality. The sound is amazing even with the noise level in my apartment.

P.S. The box was damaged a bit.

Great Mic!!!!

I have been using this mic for many years now. And only after years, I am giving this review.

I am no professional just a hobby musician who likes to record stuff.

In the last years, I have used the Rode NT2-A with different People, with different vocal ranges. Male and Female.

My observation is that male voices are recorded without any problems. And the results are beautiful.

I ran into some issues recording female voices.

I tried to record a very strong altone once and the mic would cut her voice of all the time. I had the same problem with a strong Soprano.

I am not sure if the Mics Membrane couldn't handle their voice.

We solved it by just moving them farther away from the mic.

I really like the feature of changing the characteristic of the mic, as I have used the mic to record sessions with friends just sitting around the mic and singing and playing a different instrument.

To my eyes, it looks well built and its durable.

It needs Phantom Power for people who are new to recording.

To my ears, it records a very clean, brilliant sound. Almost no noise. Just a little bit which is easy to remove afterward.

I would always buy it again. And it's my first recommendation for people who just start recording.
