Rode NT2-A Studio Solution Set Reviews
Cheap microphone with quality sound. Probably I was searching for mic with a lamp⦠and I donât know why itâs coming with no case. How to take it with me everywhere?
In love
I love this microphone. Very versatile and always use it on vocals and guitars. Nylon strings and western metal stings. Sound amazing
Just outstanding as general purpose and vocal mic
Has all the required bells and whistles in terms of pads and filters, and a lovely warm vintage tone from the outstanding capsule and electronics. would I swap for a U87? Maybe, but only if someone else was paying.
The only mic you'll ever need!
If you know you know, there is no better microphone regarding specs, functionality and price than the NT2-A, END OF STORY! It's a full blown condenser microphone in all aspects with no compromises what so ever! In my opinion, every mic review out there in YouTube land is BS because there is no beating this microphone. It has a higher SPL than your favorite mic, it has a lower noise-floor than your favorite mic, it has all the polar patterns, it sounds like a U87 but with more high end shine. You do need to know how to mix a vocal using it on records regarding de'essing, but once you figured that out to perfection. It's literally no other microphone even worth considering ever. There is no microphone out there the NT2-A can't outshine period. If you take like the NT1, to me that sounds like a dynamic mic in terms of the polar pattern being way more narrower than this. The NT2-A is like I said a full blown microphone in all aspects with absolutely no compromises!
Excellent!
High high quality long last build, very clear and rich sound leave in recording, transparent in all frequencys, balanced no frequency prevails. Shurly value for money *****
Great sound!
The NT2 microphone is a great choice for anyone looking for a high-quality mic at an affordable price.
It offers excellent sound clarity and a wide range of frequency response, making it ideal for recording vocals, instruments, and other sound sources. The build quality is also impressive, with a rugged metal construction that ensures reliable performance.
All in all, the NT2 is an excellent choice for any studio or live setup.
This mic is great
This is my first microphone and it sounds great. This microphone can be used even for professional purposes. It sounds very rich. I use this mic for vocals and guitar recording and I recommend everyone to buy it.
Simplu Amazing
Really solid Microphone, for its price range! Very warm and nice tone highly recommended !!!
My Go-To Workhorse Microphone
After using and loving the NT1-A, it was a no-brainer what to get when looking into a new large diaphragm condenser. Clear, honest and settings to track everything under the sun: the NT2-A has become my go-to mic in the studio. Need an intimate vocal performance? A dynamic acoustic recording? Drum overheads or room mics with lots of headroom? The NT2-A does it all
Best value for money
Been using this mic in my home studio for a while and I'm totally satisfied with its sound quality taking into consideration its price. Recorded vocals as well as couple of instruments. Also the switchers on the mic are very handy.
You buy what you get
This is a good mic for what its needed. Definetely not amazing to record vocals but I found quite interesting for recording KK (out) and some electric guitars, you can find some modern tones on this mic for electric stuff!
At the end, really resistant, working good, no noise, no problems with the condenser. A nice start in this huuuge world :)
Good stuff!
I don't think there is anything better for the price. Thats why I bought it second time. :)
Nice Choice for Beginner
good quality with low price
Still going strong
I bought this set 9 years ago but am only reviewing it now. This mic is still going strong, even the accessories are still in great shape. With the recent podcasting craze, a lot of new mics came to market, but if you are looking for a large diaphragm solution, you can absolutely still consider this one! Great to mic acoustic instruments.
Great starting mic!
Tons of features to start in the audio world. The best building quality for the price.
Excelent value
Really great microphone for the price. My sound production teacher in college approves of it and used it many times in his career, mostly for voices.
It's great that it has 3 polar patterns, it lets you do fun stuff like recording the full ambience of a room/exterior in omni for example.
Mine was a little hard to screw in the shockmount the first few times - probably the shockmount's fault though, which is great besides that one issue I had on mine.
Highly recommended studio microphone.
Use: I use the RodeNT2-A as a main microphone in my home studio. Used it for vocals, voice overs, podcast, bass and guitar speaker driver capture, room mic.
Clarity: Excellent clarity across the entire frequency range. The sound recorded does feel a little bit coloured. I like the coloured sound too.
I noticed this sound difference, comparing it a Neumann microphone which is transparent and very expensive (2500 euros).
Pros: 1. Excellent sound capture.
2. Switches are very useful for custom settings.
3. The pop filter and shock mount design is very practical to use.
4. Can be used as an all round microphone.
5. The body and build quality is very strong.
6. Very good price point for that quality.
Cons: Non so far.....:)
Comprehensibility: This microphone is excellent for
1. Those people who are unsure which big diaphragm microphone to buy.
2. Those people who need a reliable or backup microphone on the road.
3. Those who would not like to spend too much but would like to have good quality recordings.
4. If multiple people are gonna use this microphone. this has a strong body and if damaged the price point is not expensive.
in budget to record like a pro
this mic is wonderful when I recorded the male vocal and string instrument (erhu). I love it because the result of the sound is like a pro.
I have an experience to use U87 to record the erhu sound. I think it is more than 80% good enough quality. nt2a is quite detailed. such as breathing sound.
Good for beginner
This is a greak kit for starting your home studio. It has the basic set-up for micing in the home. Microphone is of good quality and gives a good sound response. The pick-up range is large and the sound feels warm. Suitable for voice or softer instruments, less so for brass or micing amplifyers. This, plus a sound card or mixer, will go a long way for those starting a home studio. Mic has settings for lowering frequency response and volume, also for changing pick-up pattern, giving it more adaptability in less optimal settings. Very price-worthy.
Heldentenor
If you are an opera singer (or want to record opera singers) and want a Neumann U47 but can't afford one, this little mic is for you.
I've recorded some lovely tracks and its ability to represent what my ears hear is just fantastic. I generally record live (piano and singer).
I've recorded from Lyric Soprano to Heldentenor to Basso Buffo and have found this mic to be so well suited to recording big voices. Recording violin brought a different angle and the mic worked splendidly. There is absolutely no noise in any of the recordings.
I use this with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. The variable polar positioning has been fab.
Highly recommend this mic.
