Really great matched pair

These were bought for studio use for recording acoustic guitar. I have used them exclusively with the Rode stereo bar.

I did a lot of reading prior to purchasing these mics and I feel I got what I was expecting and more. The mics come in a durable ABS plastic case that keeps them and their accessories safe and secure. They also arrive with frequency response testing certificate proving they are accurately matched.

In use I have got some nice recordings with them and I've been very pleased with the results. The switching options and both cardioid and omni capsules make for a very flexible pair of mics. As with all things audio it is always possible to buy an alternative product at five times the price and the opinions of many "pros" would suggest that a matched pair at this price are a compromise too far, however the performance of these mics is fully up to professional results. I've scored the quality as a 4 as a concession to those that rightly argue that mics costing five times more will be better. The flip side is that those mics won't sound five times better. With any audio equipment the user has to get to know the product, it's strengths and weaknesses and how to use that information to your advantage. Good recordings don't just happen they take some effort and regardless of the cost of the mic you will likely always deploy EQ onto the recording.

For those looking to record in stereo then I would highly recommend the Rode NT55 MP.

Stereo pair

Ok these aren't schoeps (which i own) but they are low noise and very clean. Can be used on multiple situations. Cut the highs a bit and they can go close. Or use them in the diffuse field and leave as is. I had a lot of good results with these little mics (omni capsules)
