Rode VideoMicro
Directional Condenser Microphone for Camera Mount

Latest User Reviews
It does the job
For near camera video recording is fine.
Average sound, cheap materials
The Rode VideoMicro has a decent sound, but really poor finishes. Right out of the box, Rode mics are always scratched or scuffed or unglued. Very poor quality check. Unreliable

Is amazing! The best mark in the world ! I love RODE
Excellent in some circumstances
I wanted to get an external mic for my DSLR that would "just work", without battery power or other hassles. This one does, at least when the camera is stationary. The audio quality is superb and handles voices great, even some simple instruments or small gigs can sound decent.
The mount is unfortunately quite flimsy. I've noticed it can cause a lot of noise if you move the camera around too much, which is really a shame. If the microphone end gets accidentally screwed off a bit it will add some very unpleasant metallic sounds as well. Might sound rare, but this can happen quite easily when putting on the (otherwise excellent) windshield.
But for the price, this is a steal, and I can definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a simple audio setup - especially if most of your shots are stationary. Just be sure to test moving it a bit before using it to capture any crucial audio.
Nice and compact
Suprisingly good low frequency respond!
I would not consider this micro
Bought it for Sony action cam, totally disappointed.
Better to have active lavalier mic. My subjective opinion.
Rode VideoMicro
Small, very discreet. A great fast & simple option for vlogging outside in public.
Tiny and powerful mic.
Useful and compact microphone. Thanks to its size it's very good for travelling. Quality of the audio is much better then just with an integrated microphone of my camera. Even in windy weather its doing fine. And the price is very good.
Sounds great.

It's just fu*king great
