Great versatile studio microphone

Disclaimer: I'm not a microphone expert, and this is my first experience with a large-diaphragm condenser.

I use two of these as drum overheads.

I tried the Glynn Johns method, and the cymbal sound was clear and authentic.

The included shock mount doesn't seem very sturdy; I don't trust it.

Certainly, one can't use it to hang the mic upside down.

Aside from that, the microphone is excellent.

Bright microphone

Good for male vocals. For a piercing female - strongly reveals 2-3k.

Nice condenser on a budget.

Nice condenser microphone with a favourable eq curve for vocal singing. Better than 2200. Made in China. Has a real transformer and sound gets better after 15 min or so. Is heavy but feels good. Has all the polar patterns and pads. Have recorded a few vocals and satisfied with the sound. Needs a good preamp as output loudness is low. Also the plastic suspension is a downside because it is fiddly and may not grip the microphone well. Pop filter is difficult to insert and remove. The microphone xlr cable needs to be inserted before the microphone is fixed to the suspender. No box.
