SE Electronics X1R Studio Band Microphone
A good microphone for the studio recording of brass instruments. You get a smokey sound which is reminiscent of the ribbon mics of old, used on the old jazz recordings. Suitable for home and professional recording.

Great mics....you can use them for anything!!! We have got pair of these mics and we used them in several applications such as drum over heads, guitar cabs, acoustic guitar, vocals, Bass and even 50 piece choir....They do need a lot of input level though so if the source of sound level is low you might struggle a lot. Overall X1R microphones in my opinion are very versatile, sturdy (considering they are ribbon mics), and they reproduce quite natural sound almost identical to the source of sound. Well happy with them.
