My fav kick drum mic for Metal

Almost mix ready eq curve, it works better for me than the usual suspects ( B52, D6, D112 ) . Love it!

Modern Bass Drum Sound

Fat and bright tone modern bass drum sound. Solid, lighter than expected : probably made out of plastic, but will last a very long time anyway. Sounds better than a B52 (IMO), but not as versatile as the old classics (RE20/421, etc.).

Super Mic all round

Features: it is a microphone, so it doesn’t have many, but the fact that it screws onto a stand rather than having to use a clip makes life so much easier.

Sound: I upgraded to this from an AKG D112, and I wasn’t really expecting much of an improvement. One of my band mates actually recommended it to me. But playing live and recording with it, there’s so much low end that just wasn’t there with the AKG. It’s also much fuller sounding.

Quality: feels great, metal build, nice and heavy. 5 stars all over, especially for the price.

over all amazing mic

In my opinion this is the best contemporary sounding kick mic there is. Not flat at all, has great punch without any eq at all and all the bass you could wish for at the same time, and has no weird thing going on that has to be scooped out.

Have been looking for a kick mic for quite a while now, looking at reviews , listening to samples, and as with any internet purchase had my doubts, but since i put it in my bass drum, there is no more doubts at all, this is the best mic out there. I have 18" bass drum and it has everything to make it as big as i want to.

Don't quite like the plastic, but other than that great, if not the best mick im my opinion for low end.

Great budget kick/bass cab mic

Have been using these for over 15 years (Inc version 1)

Sold one to a venue and the house engineer has been happy with it.

Inexpensive, hard wearing, tidy, light.

Used alone it gives a decent result on kick/floor tom. Also useful for bass cabs.

On a small PA there's not a hugely noticeable difference between it and it's 900 series sibling.

Does the job!

Favourite kick mic

My favourite kick mic by far. Have use the Shure beta91 a lot of times, The ATM250, the Heil PR48 , Audix D6 and all the others, but every time i had a E602 on the kick, the kick just worked, a lost of times i just used a bit off low cut to 30(ish) and the tweaking was done.

Great kick mic

Great kick mic for more modern sound and live sound, requires less eq cleaning and mid scooping than the Shure beta, and has a better more pronounced kick sub and beater high sound. Recommend!

Using these for bass recordings

It's my favourite Microphone for bass recordings.

It's perfect, it's the best sounding mic out of the ones I've used to record bass. I also use it for the bass kick of the drums!
