Should I say anything?

One of the best dynamic microphone

I use it beatbox and rapping and trying different genres sometimes. It records everything with clarity. Nice build senheiser quality comes with a shockmouth. If you like to collect some mics in your studio try this thing and you won't like other dynamic mics for a long time.

Another level

Great sounding mic. Super clear and detailed. Can be used for recordings too. Many people say it is condenser like and they are right. I am recording and live singing rap vocals and the mic is great.

Best mic I've owned

I've owned a number of dynamic mics over the years but I have to say I LOVE my Sennheiser E945. Great clear sound and fabulous for close mic'ing. I'm one of those singers that likes to get right in the grille and it responds really well. Totally recommend it - although you have to remember that it's super-cardioid so watch your monitor positioning.

Good microphone for singing as you know.

Used on metal / rock gigs and it is brilliant! We compared with SM58, Line6 XD-V75 and this one from Senheiser is much more characteristic, and it has much more cleaner sound. If you like to sing like Matthew Bellamy (Muse) I mean you know how to play with a dynamic microphone, this one will be a perfect choice!

Great Vox mic

I have used an Audux 5 for some time and sm58's before the Audux until I was introduced to this mic at a gig by the soundman. I was really impressed so i bought one immediately. super warm and a fat big mid that was missing in my other mics. i would highly recommend it.

Great live vocal mic

I had used 58's for many year and when I got this it was such an upgrade in tone and control. I have used it for 100's of live shows now and it works great.

This microphone provides great dynamics, warm, smooth and natural sound, also has a very good output signal. I'm using it for my acoustic gigs, deffinetly no.1 mic in this price range

the business

Fast like a Condenser, and well behaved like other dynamic and feedback comes so late. Only 1 dead after years.

The draw back is that a capsule or repair at sennheiser cost the same as a new mike so not really a option.

Sennheiser E 945

The Sennheiser E-945 is a superb high quality live performance dynamic mic.

Pick-up - It has a super cardioid pickup pattern which helps reduce pick-up of sound from the sides which helps its high gain to feedback figures. What makes this mic so nice is that the off-axis drop off isn't too severe which allows the mic to be easily worked by the vocalist during performance. Some super cardioids have a severe drop off which makes them more difficult for the singer to work.

Build Quality - It is rugged and built like a tank. It could easily survive a few bumps and knocks. It also feels very comfortable in the hand with a good quality heaviness about it. It has a very luxurious looking black body with a fetching metallic blue grill.

Handling - Handling noise is excellently suppressed meaning this mic can be easily handled during performance without anything nasty being picked up.

Tone - Every voice is different so you might have a different view to me, but I found this mic flattering to my voice without it adding any colour. It's actually very difficult to describe, but it's a mic that gives confidence. It has a warm rich tone, while still being very clear and detailed.

Feedback Rejection - As previously stated this mic has a super cardioid pick up pattern which reduces sound pick up from the sides. This helps max gain to feedback if unwanted sound is coming from the sides, but will reduce gain before feedback if the mic is pointed directly to or directly away from unwanted sound. I've had no feedback problems at all with this mic at high sound pressure levels. It also cuts through a mix very well and doesn't need hours spent on eq.

Conclusion - Excellent microphone that offers excellent performance. It sounds great.

For further information, I bought a Shure SM58 at the same time to make a direct comparison and the Senni E945 is my preference, though I'm sure others might prefer the Shure.

My favourite

I have always been a Sennheiser guy. I have used E800 series voc mics and Shure SM58 and beta58/57. And when choosing a new voc mic E945 was my choice and I don't regret it.

I mainly use this mic for vocals, but I think It can do much more!

Firstly I like their look. 5+ Design, black body and a bit blueish/black grille. And when you connect it you know what you have.

The vocals are clear, crisp and with a great body.

The build seems to be super, presumedly will last/work for ages!

I like the bag too what comes with it and the clamp. I like that the bag is soft and will protect your mic really good.

Overall I would recommend it for vocals, propably for pipes(trumpet, sax...) too. Propably will buy more of these in the future!
