Very happy to include this for my live shows.

I am violinist, pianist and added electronic elements to live show with Prophet Rev2, very happy about the outcome. Strongly recommended if you are into production and want to add electronic touches to your music.

Flawless

80's actual sound, a stairway to heaven of synths. I'm really happy with this purchase and I think I don't need any other synth ,but this is absolutely shot in the head. It took time to edit my own presets after an user friendly process. Smooth keys. Flawless...

A good synth, but not very user friendly

A staple synth to have in the studio. Great for pads and ambience, lots of richness and depth in the sound. Leads are ok, nothing amazing in my opinion compared to other synth that are way cheaper (Prologue).

The keys are way too sensitive. I understand they are weighed and supposed to fee like a piano but this is not a Nord and you don't want to play it like a piano. Other pet peeve is that the huge amount of presets are not organised in a comprehensive way, you have to browse through so many presets to just find a simple lead, or an pad. It can be very time consuming! I like this synth but it is just not ergonomic enough compared to what is being made nowadays.

Perfect DCO synth

There's not much that can be said that hasn't already. It's a great synth!

For me, VCO's are just too unstable for what I do and so the Rev2 is a perfect DCO synth for sitting in a clean, modern, in-tune mix. Plays very well with VST's! Heaps of modulation options make this a sound designers dream.

The build quality is superb, and even the pcb-mount knobs have a satifying resistance to them. Makes a great midi controller too, with its superb fatar keybed and masses of assignability.

No problems with voice limits so far as I use it in the studio, though live players that use the dual layer feature or play complex chords with long releases may want to look at the 16 due to potential voice stealing.

Innumerable Capabilities

Great built, rock solid I would say, knobs feel sturdy, keys have also a nice smooth feeling. Sounds amazing and modulation can take patches to whole next level. It is an 80's sound feeling synth that can open up a far wider sonic enviroment to your music, Overall great purchase, I highly recommend.

Cool synth, distinctive sound

This is my first analog synth and it's indeed a very good synth. I play in an alternative rock band as keybordist and Prophet rev2 has a sound that goes perfectly well with the type of music I play. It's never too jazz-y nor too electric-y. But the richness of its sound feature sometimes can be too much if the band already has a second guitar or that someone has to give way anyway. But Prophet rev2 really has a nice and distinctive sound that stand itself out from other synth. It's also very easy to use, very intuitive. There's only one thing to complain - if only it has a looper.

You wont regret it

When i was looking for a polysynth this one was on the top of my list.

I have it now for a year or so and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for nice warm analog sounds and a lot of flexibility. So good, so intuitive, no cons imo

Sounds great, feels great, looks great, is great.

I've nothing bad to say about it. Okay, people say the filters aren't as musical as many other synths, and sure... but if you want a Moog or Juno, get yourself a Moog or Juno.

If you like sound design this is for you. If you like a smooth, beautiful sounding poly for a good price, this is for you. I've got the 8 voice and have never felt limited by that, but I'm all studio and make house/broken beat/some technoes and am not a live player. Works perfectly for me.

Anyway, you should buy this. It's the boss in my studio. I use it for pads, leads, and when I'm not using it I just kind of stare at it lovingly.

Sequential Prophet REV2-8 is an awesome synth!

I've researched a lot before buying it, but I must confess that all positive reviews I've watched were completely unfair, the synth is awesome, the relation price vs quality is extremely good, if you are thinking about this you will have a synth you will never stop using. Enjoy it!

Amazing improvement of the first edition!

REV2 comes with a much refined sound and the build quality is as well improved. Firm pots and a very nice aftertouch keyboard with a great response.

And the new OLED display makes programming much easier.

Amazing!

This is one of the best synth I've ever had!

It would make no sense to point out all the features it has, but they're all top quality to me: lfos, oscillators, filters, effects, everything!

Easy to program, much more than I expected considering all the possible routings, sounds amazing and is rock solid!

It delivers the best analog sound in my humble opinion, much better than any similar one.

I haven't found a single flaw up to now, it seems to really be my holy grail fo synths!

I don't feel to much the need of the additional 8 voices (macking it a rev2-16), but sure it can make the difference if you need 8 notes polyphony for stacked sounds.

Sure it sounds already incredibly powerfull with single layered sounds!

I'm still considering the 8 voice additional module, just because I love the sounds I can build with this machine, but it's aready the top synth for me, sure there's nothing I love so much in this price range!

Best value analog workstation available

The build quality is excellent, and the keybed is one of the best I have played in a synth. The sound is abit brassy, but has alot of character. It is my go-to synth since I bought it.

My main synth, I like it a lot. Its sound and its possibilities.

The only thing I would improve is (sorry DSI) build quality. The encoders are reeeeeally fragile. If you usually turn on the cutoff a lot (which I consider a very normal practice) you can say goodbye to the encoder after a couple of months if you are not careful enough. I find it should be way more sturdy (nothing like Moog encoders, for example).

Useful All Arounder But Quality..?

The value for money is really good for the features that you get from this synth. You can design from almost any type of vintage brass, bass, synth, sound to more modern movie grand pad like sounds and the Modulation possibilities are unlimited.

Though quality control could be better, since i received mine with a minor stability issue due to corrupt OS which was quickly resolved by sequential's team who provided me with instructions instantly on how to resolve the problem.

Overall, menu diving and resolving problems and stability issues on a brand new synth is not quite appealing and it should not be ruining your creativity,So next time i would think twice on pulling the trigger on a DSI instrurment.

Simply brilliant !

so good, just so good ! it's sturdy, super well designed, not too much menu diving which is a plus.

I bought this because i always wanted a prophet. I own the Arturia prophet VST which is super but having the real deal is another step.

I've used the original prophet 5 and the prophet 8, this is definitely a step above the 08, especially when it comes to modulation possibilities (4LFOs) and onboard FX.

It boots super fast, USB midi works great too. it's fantastic, i love it !

Great all round poly synth

I got this to replace a mopho keyboard and Tetra rig I had been using for a while. I opted for this over the rack as I don't own any full size keyboards so wanted this over the rack version. I will primarily use it for recording but it's actually smaller than I expected it to be so could be carted around to shows quite easily.

Some things that I really like about it.

The Split and stack functions are cool. I like the idea of splitting two sounds across the keyboard like a bass on one side and a lead or pad on the other. Totally opens up the possibility of playing more live, couple this with a set of stereo outputs for each side and it's like having two 4 voice synths in one package. Stacking two sounds also makes for some cool sound design options.

Some things I don't like

Personally I don't think the onboard effects sound great. Especially the reverb, it has this thinny, ringy kind of shrill quality to it. Not my cup of tea. I'll mainly be using external effects anyway. It's by no means unusable and doesn't sound too bad on some of the presets.

Overall it's a great sounding poly, great for pads, leads. The bottom end is not as meaty as I thought it would be but it's sufficient for my needs. The synth has a lovely feel to play and I really like the interface for programming. Knobs are solid and build is really nice. I suppose one small thing is one of the buttons is slightly lopsided and it's noticeable when you switch it on, minor detail really.

Love It

Dave Smith is a master. I cannot get enough of this thing. it has opened up a whole new sonic palette for my music. There are so many levels to unlock with this thing, the patches are great and there are loads of options to tweak and create. Will upgrade to 16 voice soon with the add on
