Shure SE215-CL 5-stars Reviews
Great In Ears for the price. After reading multiple reviews I decided on getting these and I am pretty happy with them.
The cancel a lot of outside sound which is great when you want to protect your ears. The sound is pretty good, but they do lack a little bit of definition in lower bass register, but still sound good for a single driver!
Sturdy and I love the replaceable cable feature!
sweet
great price
Excellent Purchase
Very happy I bought this product. The quality from them is phenomenal and they do exactly what you would want them to. Even as everyday headphones there is a great quality to these products. I prefer to keep them for stage use and i have had no issues with them. They come with different fittings and the bit that goes around your ear is very flexible so there is no problems fitting them comfortably. Great buy, you won't be disappointed
Shure in ears
Great in ears. Have to say i was sceptical about changing from floor wedge to in ears for my keyboard rig but once i tried these i have to say im hooked. I use them every weekend up to 4 times per week and they are still going strong. as long as you take care of these units i imagine they will last a long time. Great value for money and well up the task of constant use on the road
Perfect addition to radio set
I purchased these as an upgrade to the t.bone IEM 75 earphones. Together they work perfectly. Although the earphones that cam with it are OK the Shure SE215-CL really give the professional quality to the set up.
Ears
By far the best I have tried for the price point. Fantastic product I hope to use these for many years and keep my hearing! I am a drummer... If you are get some!
Wow!
Just WOW! Shure sure has done it again!
I play drums and I had to get new in-ears. I wanted earphones that "came around" my ear so they wouldn't fall off (and it also looks cool).
When I came across these I thought that close to 100? is a lot of money for earphones but after a while I decided to go with them and WOW! Best decision ever.
I have used them aprox. 7 hours a week for two years or so and they still work perfect. No loose connections or anything.
The sound is amazing aswell. Loud enough to hear my music over the drumming noise.
Buy these for practice, music-listening, in-ear monitoring, anything! Perfect according to me.
Good price, good quality
They fit good, they sound perfect, shielding is also very ok.
I'm not a pro audio technician, but they do the job perfect for me.
Worth every penny!
I use these with the LD SYSTEMS MEI ONE in ear monitoring system. They make GREAT replacements for the ones that come with the MEI ONE and complete a very cost effective IEM system! My only regret is not getting a system like this sooner! Been using them at a few gigs now and I have NO DESIRE to go back to floor based monitors blasting back at my face!
Using a system like this means that not only do I hear myself better, I also SING better because I'm much more relaxed! And the next day I don't have ringing ears so that makes a nice change after gigging for as long as I have (decades).
Get them. You won't regret it.
excellent in ears
Once you adjust the buds to suit your ears, these kick ass. So impressed with the quality and clarity these produce for the price they cost. Excellent value. I would highly recommend these to anyone thinking about buying in ear monitors.
Excellent in-ear
I am a little bit of a headphone-freak. I tried a few brands: Etymotic, Shure, Sony, Sennheiser, Boss (yes, they make in-ear headphones), Apple...
I really like my Sennheiser HD600. Great headphones: linear, dynamic, distortion free and comfortable. With the new ear-pads and head-pad they are back as they were brand new.
I was a little bit sceptical about the SE215. I was in love with my Shure E4C. Really good in-ear headphones. Solid bass, clear treble, balanced mids and excellent noise isolation. Unfortunately, the cable broke a few months ago and it wasn't replaceable with a Shure one. I replaced it with another cable but the E4C were falling into pieces.
I decided I didn't want to spend a fortune in new headphones; the SE215 looked reasonably priced so I decided to give it a go.
* Comfort
In-ear headphones can be a little bit of a problem for some people. Especially the bit that goes inside the ear can hurt after a while.
The body fits in my ears perfectly. It shows that Shure put his experience in in-ear designing in the SE215. The tips are soft and don’t produce excessive pressure inside the ear.
The SE215 come with 6 pairs of tips. 3 are made of special foam that adapts to the ear shape. The other 3 are more conventional.
* Cable
The cable is Kevlar® reinforced and it is thick. Much thicker than the average headphone. This makes it mechanically robust, electrically transparent and not prone to get tangled.
The drawback is that touching the cable induces some mechanical noise in the earpieces. Frankly it is not a problem for me but it might be a problem for some.
The SE215 are design to have the cable going around the ear. The cable has a semi-rigid cover in the last few centimetres before the earpieces. This allows the cable to be pre-shaped so every time is ready for your ears. It works great for me but some people may prefer the extra flexible cable used by other brands/models.
Last but not least, the cable is detachable. Yes, you can unplug it from the earpieces, replace it and your headphones are back as new. It is a great idea that I would like to see more often.
* Body
I purchased the clear/transparent version because I like how it looks but the SE215 are available in black as well.
The body is made of solid plastic. There are no semi-rigid parts that inevitably after a few years simply disintegrate.
* Isolation
It is very good. Perhaps too good – I don't recommend them while cycling.
The isolation is so effective that I find hard to understand why people buy active noise-cancellation headphones. In my opinion, the only case where noise-cancellation headphones makes sense is when in-ear cannot be used (e.g. because of the ear shape or if one has ears that cannot tolerate in-ears)
* Sound
They sound so good... I can't take them off. The SE215 pulverise my old Shure E4C. In comparison, the E4C sound like music on the telephone.
The bass is clear and powerful but not overpowering. Trebles are clear and defined. Mids are balanced. The best thing after my HD600.
* Conclusions
If you look for a good headphones that deliver clear, powerful and solid sound the SE215 are an excellent choice.
If own cheap headphones, do yourself a favour and buy the Shure SE215. Portable music will never be the same.
My best headphones
I am drummer. Noise level is 100-12o db. And this headphones reduce noise to 40-50 db!!! I am use monitiring system and can hear sound only from mics, good equalized sound. Real sound from drums I don't hear. That is what I need!!!
I had different headphones for last 3 year, but this one is the best.
Very good quality of materials, cable looks very reliable in service. It has set of earpads but I use standard ones. Bag is big, small mp3 player can be placed inside ))
Disadvantages: price. If I lost it I will be very bad, that why I use it only at studio.
Excellent earphones for drummers!
I have been looking for some new IEM earphones for a while now and after much research with regards to price and quality I decided upon these. I am not a loud drummer, but since having these I love having a bit of the kick drum in them - excellent sound. They fit well and the range of pads etc means they stay in your ears - again something that I was worried about prior to my purchase. I would highly recommend these - great sound, great bass response and comfy fit.
Excellent IE's
The noise isolation is outstanding for the price, recommend 100%
I'm new to in-ear monitoring but have been looking forward to it very much - being a cello player I found it hard to keep the intonation perfect with all the noise on stage around with the on-stage monitors, drummer, pub noise, etc. I'm so far very happy with this purchase, having control over the volume and monitor mix I get put an end to a long battle with bandmates and stress of not hearing what I need to hear. Also having ears that can't handle loud volume, this is just the job! Comfortable to wear, easy to use and decent sound quality. I find the cables slightly too short as the headphone amp I use is not a clip-on one.
A great addition to your on stage in ears
I bought these as my SE115's had started to wear after 3 years of continuous wear! These are a great pair of earphones with a great sound and they are really comfortable. Love the fact you can buy a replacement cable which will hopefully save me having to buy a new pair when this cable starts to go in a few years time. Noise cancellation is amazing especially when on stage with a full band. Top Notch!
Great for drummers
I use these in-ear-phones when playing drums and they are really good for musicians. The headphones cancel out the noise just the right amount to play along to some music and still hear what you are playing.
I have used these for over a year and they still work perfectly even though I read some reviews before purchasing that they will break easily. I am sure that they will work for another year and when they eventually break, i can easily replace the cable and use them for even longer.
I really like the sound quality despite being the cheaper headphones from the Shure SE series.
I also think that they are great for studio and live drummers as you can wear them for a long time without hurting your ears.
Lovely in-ears!
These in-ears are the first pair I've ever bought and all I can say is that I absolutely love them!
It gives you a rich bass and middle for the rhythm-guitar and vocals, and a high end for those screaming guitar-notes and high pitch!
It fits perfectly without chafing around the ear.
Great phones...
Excellent headphones. I'm a drummer so I have to contend with a lot of up-close volume and harmful frequencies. These cancel out all unwanted backline noise and fit snugly in the ear (the choice of bud size/type is a big help). I move my head about a lot when playing and these never budge. If you take them out during the gig you can really see how much backline noise they actually cancel out. Lovely rounded sound, all the frequencies in place and loads of bottom end (drummers LOVE bottom end!). Some in-ear headphones are a ridiculous price- for the money, these are excellent.
Shure SE215 - CL
Fantastic piece! Love them! Very comfortable, Look great and sound brilliant.
Ive tried the better models and in my opionion very little difference! Great isolation on them too! Comes with plenty of other size ear buds which was good too.
I use them for mainly live situations for Bass Guitar and Drums, No problem with the low frequecies!
Only issue I had with them was the cable, It had to be replaced once.
Other than that no issues!
