Trust worthy mic for live applications. Once you get to know the sm58 it will get easy, as the 58 is a standard in the live industry.

I never had a 58 break down on me. And it can be a life saver for other instruments than vocals.

Original and Best

The SM58 is often copied but always remains consistent in it's quality. After trying out previous equivalents such as a Sennheiser I have always returned to the SM58.

My vocal range is baritone and I find that the SM58 can easily handle the combination of both the upper register and the lower register with no distortion or loss of volume. As player in a five piece band the SM58 has become a standard across the board with each one of our vocalists using them.

The SM58 is a consistent piece of kit and as a drummer who plays three gigs a week every week it is great to have something dependable that can be set up and be reliable week after week.

Shure Sm58

the sm58 has a strong following and reputation, I am impressed by the quality and reliability of this microphone, there are few better substitutes for a live performance, for recording I found this mic to be lacking, for loud rock singers it should be fine, for more delicate ballads a good condenser microphone is a better choice

Test Shure Sm58

Great microphone.

I use it for live music all the time. It's in my opinion a tool that any professional technicians must have. It's a classic you'll find on many hospitality riders.

It's also a really well finsh product that will last long (almost unbreakable)

A known quantity

The SM58 is the most popular vocal mic in the world! It is a 50-year old design and there are plenty of newer mics available at the same price point that are of higher quality. However, many artists prefer the sound of the SM58, and it has a well-deserved reputation for durability. As a sound engineer, I'd always want to have a couple available.

Pretty good

Perfect mic for beginners. Has a little loose cable problem when even tho the cable is all the way in and nice and 'clicked' into place, you still need to give it an extra push for it not to lag.

It's a very good mic. I'd recommend it 100%. Probably the best mic for the price.

Edit: Over a year later and this microphone works amazingly. No problems what so ever!

solid mic

solid, classic sounding mic, but surprisingly let down by a poor resistance to moisture (normal gig-type moisture, not anything unusual)

Great Mic

This is one of those microphones that you buy knowig what to expect and it never disapoints you.

It's is a very durable mic and it has great frequency response to vocals.

If your starting your singer career or hobbie I highly recommend this microphone.

Bottom line: Good quality for good price!

Erm it's a 58

Rock solid workhorse. I'll probably get hung drawn and quartered for daring to say this but there are better sounding mics around for less money these days but hey this is an age old stalwart. Built like a tank won't let you down and almost anybody can get a reasonable sound out of one.

Shure SM58 Microphone

A solid, tried and tested microphone for any gigger. Takes all the knocks and keeps pushing out a vocal signal that's easy to work with. Recommended for anyone unsure of what mic to go for.

All Time Favorite

I think i don't have to say a lot about the Shure SM58.

This Microfone is probably one of the most used Micros in the business.

It has a very clear and original sound. You hear exactly what you are speaking or singing, nothing more or less.

That is what a good and solid microphone has to do.

It's an SM58 :)

This makes a great backup vocal mic. I mainly use more expensive mics, but I know that I can leave this one hiding at the front of the stage ready to go and it will definitely work if it's needed when a "better" mic may fail.

Sometimes on a singer, this is a better sound too and many people are more comfortable with this as it is so familiar.

I carry one of these in my kit bag for talkback or for a better lead vocal mic if the venue is small. I don't have to worry about it at all, I know that I can pull it out of my bag and it will do what I need.

Useful too for testing PA systems with a familiar sounding mic, and if the band are brining SM58's too you can ring out wedges.

Todella hyvä perusmikki, vankan ja tukevan tuntoinen olematta kuitenkaan "kämpelö". Keikkaelämää kestävä, mukaan tulee pussukka ja clipsi. Sopii useimmille perusmikeille, turvallinen valinta. Äänentoisto melko tasapainoinen. Suosittelen tätä perusmikiksi treeneihin ja keikoille. Hyvä hintalaatusuhde varsinkin bundle - tarjouksena.

the old standard ...

what can you say - tough as nails

for home recording - it is great on guitar amps , slightly less fizzy and more body than sm57 .

you can make great home vocals recording with this - you do not need a large condenser .
